Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the replacement left-hand self-adjusting lever for your Dexter axle brakes. This is going to be an important part of that self-tightening break; it's going to be the piece that goes to the pulley system to make sure everything is working properly. If something happened to this, maybe it broke off somehow, or got rusted out, this is going to be a direct replacement from Dexter to get that fixed.I will say this is just one part of your brake assembly; you definitely want to check everything else to make sure it's all good. Check the shoes, the springs, all that kind of stuff. In the end, it might actually be easier to replace the whole thing if there's a bunch of things wrong, so you definitely want to check while you're in there to make sure you're not going to have to get back in to replace bits and parts as you go. It just saves you a lot of headaches if you end up checking those things and replacing anything you might need all in one go.

That being said, if it's just the one part you need, this is going to be the one to fix that issue.Let's take a closer look and make sure this is the right fit for your brake assembly. Again, this is for the left-hand side of your Dexter brake, and this is going to be for the 12 1/4" self-adjusting hydraulic brakes; it's even got the "LH" for "left hand" stamped in there. Backside should look like that. This part would be pinned in to the assembly, so it should sit like this on the brake assembly, and then the hole up there would be connected to the cable.That's pretty much it, though, as far as our quick look at the replacement, left-hand, self-adjusting lever for your Dexter axle brakes.
