Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here with eTrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at, and I'm going to show you how to replace, the female end of your SMI braking system. You can see here our tow vehicle actually broke away from our RV and our female end got damaged. Our male end on the hose is still okay, so we just need to replace this whole bracket and this piece here. With our new replacement part it'll have everything included with one of these rubber caps.On your RV you're going to have this air hose fitting on the backside. There's a little ring, you'll pull that collar down and then pull the air hose out, go ahead and do that now.

Pull that ring down and pull our hose out. Now we're going to take a number 11 socket, reach up, get it on one of the heads of our bolts. We're just going to remove the whole fitting and replace it with a new one. We can go ahead and take our new washer, slide it onto our bolt. Now with our new bolts in place, go ahead and slide our bracket up into place and thread on our nuts, then we go ahead and tighten up our hardware.Now with our bolts all tightened up we can go ahead and insert our air line.

What you want to do is just push it all the way in and then pull back on it to make sure it's stuck. So now that we've got our new female end in place go ahead and take our hose, insert it, take our cap off of our vehicle end and insert that. Now you want to make sure you keep track of these rubber caps, might even want to pick up a few extras, we have plenty here at eTrailer. Well guys, with all that being said that's going to do it for our look and install of a replacement quick disconnect.
