Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at these replacement side plates for the Demco Hijacker UMS 5th wheel trailer hitch. This is going to replace the side plates on your 31K Demco Hijacker UMS underbed 5th wheel trailer hitch for the 2020 and newer Chevrolet and GMC prep package. On your screen, I am including our item number for that 5th wheel hitch for your reference. Now, this is going to include two side plates, two braces, the handles and lock pins, and the hardware that you are going to need to put this together.
Plus, it's going to include the hardware to install your saddle bracket to the side plates. Now, the saddle bracket is not included with these side plates but it does come with the hardware so that you can install the saddle bracket to the side plates. For our time together, we put it together loosely just to show you what it looks like assembled. So, whether you're just looking to replace damaged or lost side plates, or you purchased a 2020 or newer Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra with the prep package and you wanna make your 31K Demco Hijacker UMS underbed 5th wheel trailer hitch work with that new truck, this is what you are going to need. These side plates attach to your underbed mounting system and serve as a base for your hitch.
And this drops into the four receiver pucks that are built into your factory underbed rails. And to lock the hitch into your truck, you're gonna turn the lock handles in and install the safety lock pins as you see them right now. But to unlock the hitch from your truck, you would just simply remove the safety lock pins and then you will turn the lock handles straight out. And then that will unlock this from the pucks in the bed of your truck and you'll be able to remove it. Then again, to lock it, turn the handles back in and replace the safety lock pin.
And of course, you'll do that on the other side as well. This is made in the USA of sturdy steel with a black powder coat finish that resists corrosion. You are going to get a operator's manual to help you with the installation process. And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.
Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
