Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the FixnZip large style repair zipper. This helps you to get your items rolling again if they have a broken or worn out zipper. A lot of times those edges of that zipper can come undone, and then it kind of makes our gear useless. We can't zip it up, we can't close it up, and we might need to get a whole new stuff. So, instead of having to reinvest in new gear, you can just fix that zipper and get back to using it. This is going to be a large style, this is for the tooth and coil style zipper, which I'll show an example of in just a second, but this is a good fit for bigger style zippers, something like a boat cover, or some really heavy duty gear, maybe a tent or something like that. Something that's going to be a really large style zipper, maybe even a wetsuit will work with this. So, let's take a closer look, and make sure that this is the right size for your application.

You can see it's going to be that bigger style, and as promised, tooth and coil. This is going to be a more medium style zipper, but it looks like this, and I know this is kind of black on black, so it's a little harder to see, but that's going to be that nylon tooth and coil style zipper. It should look something like this, maybe a bit bigger though, for this big guy. This is more the medium size, so that's just an example of what it should look like. There are different styles of zippers, plastic and metal, sort of more chain style, that will not really work with this guy.So to be able to repair our tooth and coil zipper, you're just going to loosen up this little knob at the top.

It is spring loaded to keep that tension on it as you're zipping and unzipping. Once you get that loose enough to feed in either side of the zipper, you'll place that in there, kind of put it down towards the base, or the beginning, of that zipper, also called the block. Then you'll want to tighten it up, to get those teeth to mesh together, and then pull that zipper to close it up. So pretty straight forward, I will suggest holding onto the packaging that comes with this.It does give you kind of a guide on how to do that repair, especially if you have an open end zipper, or a closed end. The difference would be...

Like on a jacket, that would be an open end where you can get those two ends free, they're open. A closed end would be something like a zipper pocket on a backpack, where you can't get either side free. They are fixed in place. It's a little bit different depending on which style you have, and also, something that's nice about this packaging is that it does have a little guide, if you're not sure what size you need, this helps you to measure that out, and figure that out. Also, you should, if you still have the pull, or you still have access to the zipper itself, there should be a little number somewhere on there, either on the block or on the pull itself, to give you an idea of what size to use. This is going to be for sizes eight through 10.

So, if you can find that, and you're sure that that's the number you need, this should be a good fit for you. We do have the other sizes for medium and small style zippers here at etrailer.com, so if you want to check those out, you can. You can even get them as a kit as well, provide all those here. There's also a different version of it, where it's pretty much the same in every respect, but this one is a little bit darker, so if you want to have a less bright version of that zipper, you can also find that at, yeah, you guessed it, etrailer.com.Check us out, hopefully we've got what you need to get you back rolling again, these are made in the USA, and that's going to do it for our look at the FixnZip zip repair. I hope this has been helpful, thanks for watching.
