Battery Powered Heat

Using your power bank or power station, the Ignik Backside heated seat pad creates warmth via a carbon fiber heating element. After this heats up, a reflective layer keeps that warmth inside the pad. It's the perfect complement to a campfire during cold nights at the campsite.

Using either a 12V 5.5mm or USB-C Power Delivery connection, the pad is compatible with a variety of power banks and power stations. This portability lets you take the pad wherever you need it, like an outdoor fall concert, tailgating outside of the stadium, or a set of chilly metal bleachers at the game. Once you're settled in, it typically takes less than 5 minutes for the element to reach maximum heat.

User-Friendly Remote

The easy-to-use, wired remote lets you choose your preferred temperature. Depending on how much warmth you want, it lets you adjust the power level in increments of 10, from 10 percent to 100 percent. Also, the internal memory stores the power level setting when you turn it off. When you fire it back up, that function brings the pad back to the temperature that works for you. Finally, the automatic shut-off deactivates the pad after 90 minutes to conserve battery life.

Video Transcript for Ignik Backside Heated Seat Pad Review

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the seat heater from Ignik. It's gonna be a small pad that you can set in your camp chair and it's gonna help heat it up. You can use this for camping, hunting, tailgating, anywhere where you might need a little bit of extra heat. It's not gonna be anything crazy, but it's definitely a nice supplemental heat source. You can plug it into a power station or a power bank, whatever you've got on hand, it's not included, but we'll check out and see how it works and see how well it heats up.

You can see, it takes a good amount of space in our seat here. It's 12 inches long and 17 inches wide, so it gets good coverage over our camp chair. Now, you can get a larger size that would go up the back as well, but this one is just gonna be for the seat. So, you've got a variety of different methods that you can use to power this. You can use the 5.5-millimeter barrel cord, you can use the included adapter to plug it into USB-C with a power bank or a power station, or you can get the 12-volt adapter to use in your car.

That's not included, but right out of the box, you've got two different methods that you can use to plug it in. So, we're gonna go ahead, plug it into our small, little power bank here and see how quick it heats up. Once it's plugged in, you can use the included controller to control the output in degrees of 10, from 10, 20, all the way up to 100% power. That plus or minus button has a nice, clicky feel to it, so I know it's not like a false press. And I will say, the LED on there is very dim and hard to see outside, but I've got it at full power right now.

And after about 30 seconds or so, I'd say, I can feel it heating up. So, it definitely works quick. And like I mentioned before, it's not anything that's a super strong output of heat, but with it underneath me and kind of working with my body heat, it is definitely making a difference on this day. It's about 50 degrees out, I'd say, and a little bit chilly, definitely jacket weather for me, but I'd say, it feels pretty good. Again, if you've got a fire around at the campsite or maybe a heat lamp or just any other supplemental source of heat, maybe some hand warmers or a blanket, I think this is a great way to just supplement that.

Now, because it is a little bit more of a weaker heat, I honestly don't see any situation where I would use this not at full blast, just because it's pretty faint through my pants and everything at 100% power. I think anything less, it'd just be hard to notice it. Maybe over a longer period of time, it would make a better difference. But for me, I would just use it at full blast. It does have a 90-minute auto shutoff feature to help conserve power. So, if you do leave it on for 90 minutes, it'll just shut itself off and you will have to turn it back on. Like I mentioned, you do need an external power source. We're using the Goal Zero power source right now, but I do also have a smaller battery pack that I just use to charge my phone up at work sometimes, and we'll see how that works. This is definitely a smaller power station, but it is working and powering the seat heater. So, even a smaller battery bank like this will work, just to have some sort of backup just in case your primary one dies or know how long it's gonna last. You wanna make sure that while you're out with this, you have power to power it. Some other things to think of are the construction. It's a 100% recycled polyester on the outside and it's got about a half-inch thick of foam, which makes it pretty comfortable. Everything in here can be rolled or folded. It's not gonna damage the internal wires, so you have that aspect for storing it and durability in mind. It's built really well. The power cord itself is going to be 4 1/2 feet long, so as long as you've got your power bank nearby, you should be just fine. But it does give you a little bit of wiggle room with that, so you don't have to have it right next to it. You can kinda set it on the ground, a little bit away from you and you don't have to think about it as much. So, overall, it's really straightforward. It does what it says it's gonna do. It's very quick to heat up really, like 30 seconds to a minute and it's already working really well. It's durable. You can bend it, twist it and nothing internally is gonna be busted and it's gonna add a little bit of that foam to help with uncomfortable seating. So, whether you're using it out at the campsite, maybe hunting, or even like some stadium seating where those seats aren't very comfortable or they're sometimes even metal, this is gonna be a really great addition. It doesn't need anything bulky. You can power it off of a power station like this or even a smaller battery pack like the one I showed you. You can keep that in your pocket while this is helping to keep you warm. Overall, that about does it for our look at the Ignik seat heater. Thanks for watching..
