Troubleshooting Height Adjustment for Reese Weight Distribution System
Question:
I recently purchased the Reese Round bar pro 49911. I have a 2010 Honda Ridgeline. With my trailer level and my hitch bar in the up position and the ball mount in the lowest holes , my ball is 4 inches higher than my coupler. When I flip my hitch bar to the down position and the ball mount in the highest position, my ball is lower than my coupler. The manual says the ball height should be 3/4 inch to 1 inch higher. I hooked everything up with the hitch in the up position and 4 inches higher than the coupler and adjusted the spring bars so my truck front wheel height is exact unloaded and loaded, but it seems my trailer is pointing slightly upward, or maybe a little more than slightly. Im confused, do I need a different hitch bar ?

The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Round Bar - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # RE34FR is 49911 you referenced. It definitely doesn't sound right that there is more than 4 inches of difference from the base of the hitch ball when inverting your weight distribution shank with closest settings. I'm attaching an article to assist.
If you need something that allows more of that middle adjustment, I recommend the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank - 8" # C17100.
