Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

Great hitch receiver, fairly simple install. Definitely need two people. I watched the install video before starting and that was really helpful

2018 Ford Escape

This is a very high-quality product. I’m very glad I bought it. I had it installed this morning and everything went smoothly.
My new bike rack fit perfectly with it. I would highly recommend using this company as they were very communicative with me during my selection of the product and shipping etc. they truly have wonderful customer service.

by:

Very happy with my order. It took a bit of know-how to install, but the instructions were plenty clear. Works great.

by:

Great product, way cheaper price than the garages will charge you for same product, will always buy from etrailer

by:

This hitch is great. It's constructed well and appears to made of heavy duty steel. Also it was easy enough with the kit supplied for my wife and I to install it on our vehicle. And did I mention it was priced reasonable.

by:

Great product, install was a challenge for me being alone because of the weight and laying under the car. Instructions were great and the quantity of the hitch and fasteners was excellent. e
trailer has been my go to for hitches, I've three and if I need another one I'll buy it here.

by:

Well made. Heavy duty. Looked up the installation video and it was clear and easy to follow. Haven't installed yet. Planning to soon.

by:
2016 Ford Escape

Installation was a breeze. The supplied hardware worked great and it looks great. It's going to hold the bike rack without any problems.

by:

Straight forward installation, fit well.

by:
2019 Ford Escape

Had it for a year now, I love it, I use it all the time for attaching my MTB rack to my 2019 ford escape.

by:
2017 Ford Escape

You guys have a quality product! Instructions are easy to understand and my daughter and I installed it in a couple of hours. I made a couple of mistakes which made it longer. If I need anything else I will definitely use your company. Thank you.

by:

I did by myself which wasn't easy. I recommend 2 people.

by:

Excellent product, promptly shipped. Clear and concise installation instructions. Still working well after a year of service.

by:

Works great on my 2019 Ford Escape. Install was easy, but a car lift is a must.

by:

Works great . Easy to install instructions simple to Reed.

by:
2018 Ford Escape

Although the instructions were a bit fuzzy, the receiver fit very well, seems to be very beefy, and the installation went okay, although it did take over 2 hours.

by:

It was the wrong hitch kit. Didn’t fit my vehicle. I didn’t make an effort to have it replaced.

by:

It's so great! Easy to put on/take off. Should have gotten this long ago.

by:

Kate was excellent through the whole process and straightening out my order and it came a day early. I couldn’t be more happier. Thank you.
All ready for Saturday’s install.

by:

Hitch is exactly as advertised. Installation was smooth. Nice product.

by:
2013 Ford Escape

It's a nice trailer hitch.Decent price. It installs pretty easy.I installed it on my 2013 Ford escape.A couple suggestions though, have a buddy help lift it into place and just remove the muffler, after you remove the exhaust hangers it's just two more bolts to slide the exhaust pipe out then you have all the room you need.

by:

did get the receiver on date that i was told.
box had holes in it that were the size of a softball , not the fault of etrailer. little paint missing.
i was happy they put the wiring in bigger box, so it did not fall out.
i think it was my 3 hitch off them.
one thing i figured out, put hitch on escape ,put the front in first and rolled it up in.
40-45 mins done, once i thought to roll it in.
wiring little bit longer, but all done.

by:
2017 Ford Escape

I installed this with the help of one other person (to help lift into place) in about an hour. The kit comes complete with everything you need except the tools and elbow-grease.

1 year and its still holding up. Its a product that I dont have to think about. Im glad that there are still companies out there that produce things that last! Thank you

by:

The product was shipped and delivered in great time, arrived undamaged, all parts were provided.
The video was very helpful before installation. I watched it several times and made step-by-step notes.
Installation went as described. The wire bolt pulls are a great idea that worked well.

by:

This was a great choice. Good price quick shipping. The hitch was great quality and fit. Thanks

  • Best Hitch and Wiring for a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium
I've got a great solution for you! For the hitch use etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" part # e98866 . It covers you right up to your weight ratings of the Escape. It also has a matte black finish as compared to the high gloss on the others which will blend in better with your vehicle. For wiring use the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118566 this is custom fit for your Escape and requires...

  • How To Know If Your F2018 Ford Escape Has A Factory Tow Package
If your 2018 Ford Escape has a towing package you'll have a 4-pole or 7-pole connector already installed or a port to plug in a 7-way socket like part # A10-7072VP. If you don't see any wire harnesses already installed then you'll need to pick up one like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118715. This would allow you to tow a small trailer without brakes. If you needed to be able to tow a trailer with brakes then you'd first install the # 118715 and...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommended for 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid
We sure do. I'd recommend the etrailer Class 3 hitch, part # e89YR which is a confirmed fit for the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. If you'll be using the hitch for light duty towing, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like part # TE54FR, a ball mount like # D-28 and a hitch pin like # PC3 and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball. I've linked to an installation video for the wiring harness as well as to the installation instructions for the hitch I recommended. The...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2019 Ford Escape Towing Trailer without Brakes
All of the parts you mentioned are exactly what you would need. The etrailer hitch # e98866 is correct fit for your 2019 Ford Escape, the wiring kit part # 118802 is a confirmed fit, and the ball mount # C45534 would be correct ball mount and hitch pin lock setup. Since the trailer doesn't have brakes you wouldn't need a 7-way.

  • Bike Rack Recommendation that Wont Block 2018 Ford Escape Backup Camera and Looks Really Cool
I will be happy to make some recommendations for you. But keep in mind that any loaded bike rack is going to block the view of the backup camera on your 2018 Ford Escape. But there are some great options that will only sort of block the view when they are not loaded. I recommend taking a look at the following bike rack combination: Kuat Transfer # KU74FR Phat Bike Adapter # APBK This rack has a u-shaped frame and since the backup camera on the 2017 Ford Escape is in the middle of the...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford Escape
The best hitch option we have for your 2018 Ford Edge is the etrailer.com hitch part # e98866. I recommend this hitch because it has a concealed crosstube which makes it less visible as you'd only see the hitch opening below the bumper. It also has great towing capacities at 3,500 lbs trailer weight, a 2 inch opening (most popular size), and is priced great. For trailer wiring then you'd want the Curt part # C56320 which installs by plugging inline with the taillights of the vehicle and...

  • Trailer Hitch For A 2014 Ford Escape That Will Allow The Use Of Hands Free Liftgate Sensor
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98866 will limit the hands-free liftgate sensor to either side of the vehicle near the exhaust pipes. The trailer hitch has a bolt-on installation with no welding required. It has a matte black powder coat finish which is over a protective base coat that offers a superior rust resistance. The etrailer hitch has an extra coating of rust resistant paint which will give it better rust protection then the other hitches confirmed to fit your vehicle....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring for Towing Trailer With 2017 Ford Escape Titanium
There won't be an issue installing a hitch and wiring on your 2017 Ford Escape Titanium. As long as the trailer does not exceed the capacity of the hitch or your vehicle you will be fine. For a hitch I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98866. This hitch features a matte black powder coat finish which provides more of an OEM look. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight of 350 lbs. For the most reliable wiring harness, I recommend the T-One...

  • Will Adding Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring & Sway Increase Towing Capacity On 2017 Ford Escape?
Just adding a Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98866, Wiring # 118715 and a Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 will not automatically allow you to tow a 3,500lb trailer with your 2017 Ford Escape. You will need to consult with your Ford dealer as there is also likely a required transmission cooler required and you will need to determine if there are any other requirements or if you have the correct 3.07 final drive ratio required to tow this much weight.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2014 Ford Escape Titanium
For your 2014 Ford Escape Titanium I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98866. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and a bolt-on installation. The only reason this wouldn't fit is if you already had a factory receiver in place. If you are wanting to replace the factory Class II hitch the only option would be the # 75782. If you plan on towing and don't already have wiring you can use the Tekonsha # 118566. This will add a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights....

  • Will a Trailer Hitch Receiver From a 2017 Ford Escape Also Fit a 2008 Ford Escape?
In comparing a Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98866 for a 2017 Ford Escape with one that fits a 2008 Ford Escape # e56AR the mounting points are very different. For this reason you will not be able to bolt on the hitch from your 2017 to the 2008. Currently I do not see a hidden hitch available for your 2008 Escape. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118551 will give you a 4-way flat connector. This is the common connector used on smaller trailers and can also be used with Auxiliary Lights # C53201.

We have a hitch for your 2013 Ford Escape that has a 3,500 lb towing capacity with the part # e98866. Then for trailer wiring you'd want the Tekonsha part # 118566. Now when I looked up the towing capacity of your 2013 Ford Escape it looks to have between a 1,500 and 2,000 lb capacity so you would be limited to that regardless of what hitch you install. The etrailer hitch part # e98866 that you referenced does not come with trailer wiring so you would need to order that separately. The reason for this is not everyone who buys a hitch does so for towing. Might be just for a bike rack.
