The benefits of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76253 that fits your 2019 Subaru Ascent Touring are that it has a concealed crosstube and also that it has a 750 lb tongue weight, which is the highest capacity tongue weight for any hitch that fits your vehicle. That said, the tongue weight will not come into play when you are using your bike rack and it is unlikely to be a factor for a tent trailer.
The Curt Trailer Hitch # C13400, which will also fit a Touring model of '19 Ascent, has a... view full answer...
For the tire size of 245/50-20 that you have on your 2021 Subaru Ascent the Thule Easy Fit chains part # TH04115255 are definitely a fit and the best option to go with as they provide excellent traction and install in a matter of seconds.
If this is same size tire you have on your Impreza these would also fit but if you have a different size let me know and I'll see which part number you need.
I attached an install video for these on a similar Ascent for you to check out as well. view full answer...
Yes, the same brake controller harness, # 3062-P, that fits the 2019 Subaru Ascent will also fit the 2020 models. I confirmed this with our brake controller manufacturer. This plug-in harness will fit any Tekonsha or Draw-Tite brand brake controllers like the Primus IQ, # TK90160, or the BRAKE-EVN # TK63VR.
I'd go with the Primus IQ, # TK90160, because it is a proportional brake controller which means it will activate the trailer brakes with the same braking intensity as your vehicle.... view full answer...
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY74FR will work very well for electric bikes and non-electric regular bikes. The tire trays are heavy duty and wider to accommodate the electric bikes, but will still allow regular bikes to be mounted without any issues or concerns. This has an impressive weight capacity of 80lbs per bike.
There is not a way to convert this bike rack to a 4-bike carrier, however, you could go with Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 4 Bikes... view full answer...
All you need to install the Redarc Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR is the install harness that was custom designed to match the OEM brake controller of your 2020 Subaru Ascent, part # 3062-P. This plugs into the port under your dash for an easy install. view full answer...
Since your 2019 Subaru Ascent has a Curt 4-way # C56040 installed that would indicate that you do not have the factory tow package which means you do not have brake controller wiring under your dash. So to convert to a 7-way and install a brake controller you'd need the # ETBC7 which is a 4-way to 7-way adapter that also comes with all wiring needed for brake controller installs.
Then for a brake controller the Brake EVN # TK63VR is a really great option that's proportional and very reliable. view full answer...
Hands down the best trailer hitch for your 2020 Subaru Ascent to use a hitch-mounted bike rack is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76253 because it offers a far superior amount of ground clearance and is a higher quality hitch than the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13400.
Due to how the Draw-Tite hitch installs, it is approximately 24 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver, which is an exceptional amount that assures your bike rack is going to be clear of any type of ground contact,... view full answer...
I looked up the Sunset Park RV Sun-Lite 16BH and the official length is listed at 16' 6" therefore in order to find the correct cover we'll need to subtract 3' for the tongue and round up which means we're looking at a cover for a 14' trailer. I recommend the Adco SFS AquaShed RV Cover part # 290-52238 which will provide excellent protection from the elements including rain and snow. It has a cinching system to provide a tight fit and weighted buckles for easy installation. view full answer...
For a hitch to carry your back rack on your 2022 Subaru Ascent I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e55ZR. This Class III hitch has a 2" receiver and is completely hidden with the bumper panel in place. Since it sits behind the bumper you will have more clearance for your rack when compared to a hitch that installs below the frame.
The hitch has a maximum tongue weight of 750 lbs to handle your bike racks. It also features a matte black powder coat finish, giving it more of... view full answer...
We can absolutely help you with this! You'll just need a set of crossbars and some towers to mount them on the raised side rails of your Subaru.
I recommend using the Rhino Rack Roof Rack using parts # RRVA137B-2 and # RRSX100, which will connect to the raised side rails on your 2019 Subaru Ascent and give you a nice, sturdy platform to carry your Sparrow XL roof tent. Rhino Rack are known for their high quality and durable builds, so this is a great solution, and we've even got an installation... view full answer...
If your 2022 Subaru Ascent has the factory tow package with the factory installed 7-way trailer connector, it will have the factory brake controller connector located above the driver's side kick panel forward of the hood latch as shown in the provided photo. From there you'll just need the wiring harness # 3062-P to quickly and easily install your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 2 Braking Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # RED44FR. The white connector will plug into... view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76253 is the best option for your 2019 Subaru Ascent in my opinion. This 2 inch receiver has a hidden cross bar that allows you to have a very clean and factory look to your Ascent. This hitch itself is rated for up to 750 lbs tongue weight and 5,000 lbs towing so it is a heavy duty hitch.
It will fit right behind the factory panel so you can simply remove the panel when you want to use it or trim that panel if you want it exposed. ... view full answer...
The parts you'd want to tow the Coachmen Clipper Ultra Lite with your 2022 Subaru Ascent would be the etrailer hitch part # e55ZR, then for trailer wiring you'd need the 7-way kit part # 118290.
Then for a brake controller the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which is a wireless option that once synced to your smart phone is ready to tow once plugged into the 7-way. view full answer...
If all of your signals are working there may be no need to connect the wire that is for the 12 Volt trailer power on the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118290 but I can not advise you to do anything except what is found in their instructions which states to connect the wire. In some cases not only does this wire power the 12 volt connector but may also be used to power the converter taking the excess strain off of your vehicles wiring harness. view full answer...
Since your 2020 Subaru Ascent is already equipped with a factory 7-way connector, you will not need any additional parts other than the ones included with the Curt Spectrum Brake Controller part # C51170.
There isn't a custom wiring adapter available from Curt for your Ascent, so you will need to hardwire the Spectrum controller in order to install it, or you can easily make your own adapter, using part # 3062-P.
Basically, you'll cut off the black end of this adapter (the one that matches... view full answer...
Between the Draw-Tite hitch # 76253 and the EcoHitch # 306-X7381 that both fit your 2019 Subaru Ascent if it were my money I would get the Draw-Tite.
Both hitches will take about the same time for installation (2+ hours) but because the Draw-Tite costs much less than the EcoHitch I would go that route.
But if you prefer a USA-made hitch then the EcoHitch model is currently the only such option. And you might care to check out the two articles on hitch bike carriers that may help you in... view full answer...
The Prodigy P3 part # 90195 has basically the most flexibility in mounting angles but it does need to squarely face the rear of the vehicle and also sit totally flat from left to right. If you check out the pictures I attached you'll see what is okay and what is not.
If yours is currently not matching the install angle requirements it may not work well consistently. I'd strongly recommend fixing it before doing any towing. The Primus IQ actually has even more restrictive mounting angle... view full answer...
E bikes test the weight limits of many bike platform racks. For example, the Saris MTR Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount, can carry heavier bikes in the trays closest to your vehicle, but the maximum weight the trays can hold drops on the two trays furthest from the vehicle. As a result, your e-bikes will be too heavy for the last two trays of this hitch bike rack, even if you do only carry three bikes most of the time. You will still exceed the recommended weight limit.... view full answer...
Yes, both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13400 and the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76253 are confirmed to fit your 2020 Subaru Ascent and are both rated to tow 5,000 lbs. The main reason for their very different designs is the final look once the hitches are installed.
The installation of the # 76253 hitch is more involved, requiring temporary removal of the bumper/fascia and permanent removal of the impact structure, which is then replaced by the hitch itself. After... view full answer...
