Since your 2020 Subaru Ascent is already equipped with a factory 7-way connector, you will not need any additional parts other than the ones included with the Curt Spectrum Brake Controller part # C51170.
There isn't a custom wiring adapter available from Curt for your Ascent, so you will need to hardwire the Spectrum controller in order to install it, or you can easily make your own adapter, using part # 3062-P.
Basically, you'll cut off the black end of this adapter (the one that matches up to a Tekonsha brake controller), and keep the white end that mates up to the connector under the dash of your Ascent. You would then simply cut the black connector off the Spectrum's main module and splice the two together color by color. This will allow you to simply plug the Spectrum into your Ascent, without needing to splice into your vehicle's wiring.
