When we installed the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24914 onto a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback similar to your Mazda 3 we found that the receiver sat just shy of the rear of the bumper cover. So it will not hang past your bumper where you might hit your leg on it or extend the length of your Mazda. The bottom of the receiver tube and chain mounts are roughly 9-1/2" from the ground.
Be aware these measurements can vary due to trim levels, tire size and amount of suspension sag. view full answer...
From the center of the hitch pin hole to the back part of the shank measures 2" for the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 36071. While the Draw-Tite does fit a 1-1/4" hitch receiver, it's designed for at least a Class II receiver which is why that end portion is a little longer. Some Class I trailer hitches have a stop built in which will keep this option from working.
For a Class I ball mount that has the same dimensions we have the Curt # C45022. This measures 1-1/2" from the center of the hitch... view full answer...

I contacted CURT about the clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the rear bumper with the CURT hitch # 12093 on a 2011 Mazda CX-7. CURT was unable to provide this measurement.
However, we have installed another model hitch on a 2010 Mazda CX-7. The CURT hitch should mount approximately the same location as the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 36419. The measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the rear bumper is 9 inches on the # 36419 hitch.... view full answer...
The tongue weight capacity of the EcoHitch # 306-X7305 for a 2015 Mazda 3 is indeed 300 lbs. After we wrote the original product description, EcoHitch did further weight capacity testing on the # 306-X7305 hitch and found that it had a higher tongue weight capacity than originally stated.
The hitch will work great with your Mazda 3 and your 2 inch bike rack. view full answer...

The Inno Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 45" Long and 48" Long # INXB115-123 by themselves can handle 165 lbs, yes. The part that makes it a little confusing is when you get into vehicle fitment because the roof or mounting points may not be that strong for any given vehicle and parts combination.
For example, when you take the parts that fit your 2022 Mazda CX-5:
Crossbars - # INXB115-123
Through Feet - # INXS350
Fit Kit - # IN53FR

The ratings that a manufacturer puts on a hitch are the capacities that they have tested the receiver to be able to withstand. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76138 that fits your 2021 Mazda CX-5 has a rating of 675lbs of tongue weight and 4,500lbs of trailer towing capacity. I checked with Konig for you to verify the clearance needed for the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - XB16 - Size 247 # TH01571247.
I can confirm that the clearance needed for both the top of the tread and the inside of the wheel is indeed 16mm. These will fit the 225/55-R19 tires on your 2016 Mazda CX-5, though if you need slightly more clearance there is a similar option available from Konig which only requires 12mm of clearance, the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire... view full answer...
The 2014-2018 Mazda 3 are the same generation car. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4", part # C11377, is 11 1/2" from the ground to the top of the inside of the hitch receiver on both the 2015 and the 2017 Mazda 3. The 2018 should not be any different. So if we subtract an 1 1/4", which is the size of the hitch receiver, from the 11 1/2" measurement, you are left with between 10" and 10 1/4" inches of clearance from the ground to the bottom of the hitch receiver.... view full answer...
It took me a couple of minutes but I finally found that table. That is actually in the instructions for the hitch # C11435 for the 2017 Mazda Miata. The table is laid out kind of weird. It does make it look like the top row of numbers is tongue weight. But that is the gross trailer weight and the tongue weight is usually 10 to 15 percent of that. So usually a Class I hitch is rated up to 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight.
But with that said you also have to... view full answer...
