Internal Clearance Needed for Konig Snow Tire Chains XB16 Size 247

Question:

Hi ETrailer, I have a 2016 Mazda CX-5, tire size 225/55-R19. Im looking at getting the Konig XB-16 size 247 tire chains for it, but Im concerned about the fit. The CX-5 has a closely mounted strut on the inside of the wheel. The product page lists the interior clearance needed as 16mm, can you confirm that for me? Thank you

I checked with Konig for you to verify the clearance needed for the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - XB16 - Size 247 # TH01571247.

I can confirm that the clearance needed for both the top of the tread and the inside of the wheel is indeed 16mm. These will fit the 225/55-R19 tires on your 2016 Mazda CX-5, though if you need slightly more clearance there is a similar option available from Konig which only requires 12mm of clearance, the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - XG12 Pro - Size 247 # TH01594247.

I have added links below to video reviews of both chains for you to check out as well.
