Used on a pull behind motorcycle trailer so could go from receiving a 6 pin to a 5 pin. Wired it into loom so can use on more than one motorcycle. Works great. Glad to have found a place that even sold this product.

by:

A similar trailer light connector was installed on my motorcycle cargo trailer when I purchased it way back in 2003. When I purchased my new Gold Wing in 2019, I wanted to use the same type of connector. Since I had to add a new female connector to the bike, I decided to renew the male connector on the trailer. I especially like this connector because it always stays secure when connected. I also wanted the connections to be out of sight when not in use. I have pulled my trailer with this new connection for over 2,500 miles and it has performed great.

Still working great even after a year!

by:

the part was ok but i was looking for thr 5 pin that had bigger holed the small holes were to small

by:

Mounted Pollak sockets to left saddle bag of 2018 Can Am Spyder RT for removal of "pigtail" extension to CSC trailer when not in use. This will eliminate any possible damage to hook up wiring and gives much "cleaner" look to hitch installation. I looked everywhere for these sockets, online & three auto parts for what I wanted and only etrailer.com had them and also the lowest price. Could not ask for more, arrived in 3 days, customer service follow up and answered my email technical question within 24 hours. Bookmark them and use on all your trailer needs. I have 4 trailers and do my own work.

by:

I used the male 5 pin on a pull behind motorcycle trailer and the female connecter on a 2008 Harley Davidson. These 2 purchases were perfect for my applications.

Thank you.

by:

Have put about 20000 miles on the road with it and it has performed perfectly. Good item

worked faultlessly for 16,000 towing miles. no problems

by:

Unit works great on my trailer and bike. Went on a trip a couple of weeks ago and had no electrical problems with the connections. They hook up solid and stay there,

by:

I purchased this to use on a motorcycle and it is the perfect size. I purchased both pieces and the fit is exactly what i was looking for.

by:

Well it would have been nice to have some instructions

by:

This very hard to find item is of excellent quality and offers a very snug fit to it's male mate. etrailer had both the male and female items in stock, thereby providing super fast shipment at a very decent price. Prior to etrailer, no other parts provider even provided pictures of this item in their catalog. This item will be used to connect the electrical system of my Bushtec trailer to the mating connector mounted on my 2010 Honda Goldwing. Thank you etrailer!!

Much better than expected as the finish on the connector is completely free of rust, discoloration, or other imperfections associated with open road use items.. Of course the connector is mounted is a area that is subjected to water, rocks, dust and dirt, however I have not had any problems visually or electrically since installation. Mating of the connectors are still snug with perfectly clean electrical contacts.

by:

Since I'm using this on a motorcycle I was looking for something that was fairly compact. This connector fit my needs but because it was pretty small it made installing the wires into the side of the pins a bit trying at times. I finally got around this by removing the crimping screws, running the wires straight in and soldering them in place. This worked very well and I feel a bit better about the connection.
However that being said, there's nothing wrong with the screw terminals at all. It's all just a bit small for big hands.

After pulling the trailer behind the motorcycle for several thousand miles I have no complaints. The fit and finish remains like new. Ive had issues with my connection. If I have need for a matching plug or connector Id reorder these in a heartbeat.

by:

This is exactly what we needed to wire our liftgate. Delivered on time as promised.

by:

Not much to write about, very simple and basic piece.
But, that's not the story here. etrailer.com is the real story, great site, very well laid out, for people like me. I took some time and looked at everything that I could see on this site. Lots of products sold at prices that just cant be beat. Super fast shipping. I think I got an email the next day my order had shipped. I will be back and will let all my people know all about etailer
Thanks Chris in OR.

Everything works couldnt be more pleased

by:

I like the look, and really easy to install, just make sure you do not strip much off the wire so you can put it through the hole under the screw, so as to not have any extra wire sticking out because they are really close.

by:

I had to give this product an average review. The product itself was a better quality than I expected. And the company delivered it very quickly. My problem was the individual wire anchor screws would cut the wire in have if overtightened. Would recommend soldering each wire end before installing.

by:

Works great and looks so much better than those black plastic ones.

by:

The dog chewed my trailer harness. No one in my area carried a five pin except for the HD DEALERS ($$$). Part arrive within the week, priced right and easy install.

Working great, converted 4-pin flat to 5-oin round as I wanted to add a power wire to trailer. This did the job!

by:

Was hoping it was USA made, but that was silly of me:))
Have NOT ever been very fond of the ‘side mount’ style for the wires, but not able to find the ‘rear mount’ anywhere. Same goes to both male and female parts.
Was finally successful:)) My motorcycle pull behind trailer does NOT use the standard color-coded system….so simply had to test each circuit. No worries

by:

I've had the receptacle and plug version of this installed between a homemade truckbed trailer and my older toyota truck for several years and it works great, good connection, and easy to install. I went with the 5 conductors as all I needed were left/right signals, brake and running lights. I drive offroad a lot with the trailer without problems. I just received my second order, for an additional trailer, and the plug is really tight, thanks to the conductors being slightly too spread. I'll have to pinch the pins a bit to loosen the fit - easy enough. Otherwise it'd be 5 stars

by:

Wanted to use this plug as the bike and trailer both had them. This was to replace damaged trailer plug. One tube inside the plug was stripped the first time I tried it. The "mechanics" of the plug dictate that only a short bit of wire goes into the tube, to be held in place by a tiny screw. And one was stripped to begin with. I ended up lopping the plug off and going with the 5 pin flat plug. I wouldn't bother trying this plug if a flat connector would work in your application.

by:

With the help of Crystal I ordered this connector and a matching wiring harness for my motorcycle and trailer. I was unsure if these were the correct parts, but Crystal was able to locate the exact ones and ship them the same day.
I was very pleased with the fast service and knowledgeable staff. Even with standard shipping, my order arrived 4 days sooner than was projected.

To say I'm happy with etrailer is an understatement. They are great.

by:

I ordered this and came in a timely manner and the price was right thank you

by:

This part is exactly what I needed. I found out that Kawasaki and Harley Davidson trailers are wired different, and without this part, I would have been in trouble. Thanks to retailer, I have been able to make the transition without a lot of hassle.

by:

Ordering was quick and easy, delivery was very efficient, products were great quality.... I will be installing both parts this week...Thank you for the great service

  • How to Make a 5-Way Round to 5-Way Flat Trailer Wiring Adapter
We don't have an already assembled adapter for what you are looking for, but you can pretty easily make one with components that we sell. For the 5-way round for your tow vehicle you would want the part # PK11501, for jacketed wire you would want the part # DW04906-1 which is sold by the foot. This is 6 wires so you would just not need to use one wire. We don't have 5 wires jacketed. Then for a 5-way flat connector that would connect to the 5-way on your trailer you would want the part...

  • Lighting Converter for Motorcycle Towing 4-Pole Trailer
We do not have any trailer wiring adapter that converts the 5-pin round format on your motorcycle to a 4-pole flat type. The reason is that your motorcycle uses separate stop and turn lights while the 4-pole trailer lighting format combines these into a left stop/turn and right stop/turn circuit. You have two options: adding separate turn lights to the trailer OR installing a converter that takes in the bike's separate signals and combines them into the trailer 4-pole format. Roadmaster...

You could wire in connector # PK11502 and it will likely be a match to what is on your trailer. Or you could also get the matching trailer side connector, # PK11501, so that the bike side and trailer side are for sure compatible. I have linked videos for both parts for you.

It sounds like you need to go from the 6-Pole, Round Pin Connector # PK11604 to a 5-Pole, Round Pin Socket # PK11502. This would require making an adapter using the 6-Pole, Round Pin Socket # PK12720 and 5-Pole, Round Pin Connector # PK11501. If I have this backwards then just use the other parts listed above. It gets confusing with these connectors since you have male connectors inside a female connector so you never really know which one they are referring too. You can use some of the...

  • How to Power an Electric Winch on a Trailer Pulled By a 2017 Subaru Forester
You do have a few options to get an electric winch, like the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm # TW4015, working, but the 4 Flat will not be able to do so alone. The first will be to add a battery to the trailer. This will usually be my suggestion, but as you do not have brakes on the trailer and it is for a boat trailer, it will not be the best way to go. What I suggest doing is upping your 4 Flat to a 5 Round, both on the trailer and vehicle. The Pollak 5-Pole # PK11502 for the vehicle side,...
