Extensive Testing
InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the locking pin in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the pin fails. These locks have a shear strength of 42,000 lbs.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look at this InfiniteRule trailer coupler lock. Now this flush style coupler lock is going to secure the trigger latch on your trailer's coupler to deter theft and your trailer can't be removed from your tow vehicle when it's actually locked onto your hitch ball. And this does offer one key operation so this is going to be very convenient to use, very easy to use. Two keys, as you can see here are included. And the weather resistant tethered dust cap is going to do a great job of keeping water and debris out of this keyway.
So let me give you a brief demonstration of how this works. So I'm gonna go ahead and insert the key. I'm gonna unlock this so I can use it on my coupler. So to unlock this, you're just going to turn the key counterclockwise like a screw. And so you're just going to keep turning until the lock comes undone.
If you notice here we have a O-ring that's going to protect the internal components from dirt and grime. The diameter of our pin is a quarter of an inch. And so I do have a coupler here just to show you briefly how this is going to work. So just slide this pin in through that trigger latch and then I'm gonna go ahead and bring the lock back together and then turn the key clockwise. And that's going to tighten up our lock as you can see there.
So we're nice and tight and hopefully you can see, let me see if I can bring this up a little bit closer for you. Around the ring or the circumference of our lock here, we have these hash marks. So what I'm gonna do is just back off to the closest hash mark there and then that's going to allow the key to be removed just like that. So we have a hash mark at certain points around the ring. And so I went ahead and was able to remove the key, replace the cap.
And so my coupler is going to be very secure. And again, it's gonna be very easy to unlock this. I'm just gonna remove my cap, reinsert the key, turn to counterclockwise again, and it's just gonna come loose. We can see there and then that just comes undone. Slide the lock right out. So this is made here in the USA of heavy duty stainless steel. So this is going to be very durable for you. And so again, my lock is tightened up. I'm just gonna back off to the nearest set of hash marks there and remove the key. Now, in case you don't know, InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third party testing to determine shear strength. And the shear strength is determined by placing the locking pin in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load or maximum force received without deformity is met or the pin fails. This locking pin has a shear strength of 42,000 pounds. Let me leave you with some overall measurements just so you've got a good idea of the size. Looking at the overall length, as you can see we're sitting right about 3 and 9/16 inches long. The inside pin length or span or usable pin length, however you'd like to call that, we're sitting right at 2 and 1/8 inches. And this does have a limited lifetime warranty from InfiniteRule. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
