Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

These are a great value on golfcart tires, increased my ground clearance and provided more comfortable ride since we run them at XXlbs pressure due to lighter weight than a boat trailer, will purchase them again!

Great golf cart tire, 2017 yamaha

by:

Product was packaged well and is as advertised. Shipping was delayed some at first due to staffing issue. Once it was resolved the tires arrived very quickly.

The tires are doing quite well, no problems. When I need more, Ill definitely get in touch. Thank you.

Bought a pair 2 years ago for my golf cart rears. Awesome tires, wore those out and replaced with EXACTLY the same tire. Great ride, nice stance (staggered size from front), and good wear.

We’ve used the tires for a year now. Plenty of tread left. The tires were an excellent value. I would buy again.

by:

I installed the tires on my 2013 Yamaha G29 Drive golf cart on 10" Evader aluminum wheels. They look great and based on my trip to the golf course today they work great. I thought there might be some clearance issues but they fit very well. I like the larger tire size (20.5" OD) as they replaced 205/50-10 which has an OD of 18". This was my first experience with etrailer and the experience was 100% positive. Good prices and great delivery service--what else could you want.

Big D.

12/17/2015

The tires have been in use for almost a year and the tread wear is negligible. I would give these tires and etrailer a 5-Star rating. Great service and great tires.

by:

Great tire, we get much better mileage out of these tires than the previous brand. Maintaining correct tire pressure will ensure long life. Plus, You can't beat free shipping!

by:

After a year tires show very little wear

by:

We use these tires on our Yamaha golf carts that get a lot of driving. They seem to hold up reasonably well and the ease of which I get to order them helps me greatly.

by:

Purchased 4 new tires for my golf cart, also known as the dog cart taxi for my 2 lazy hounds! Tires were best price I could find, free shipping which is a rarity these days, and UPS delivery literally within days of purchase, even though a weekend online purchase. When I need new trailer and golf cart tires I’ll be a return customer. Thank You!

Great set of tires, comfortable ride around our neighborhood on our EZ Go golf cart

by:

Great Service! They came a day early. Nice value; would have been nice if a Military Discount would have been offered, but great job!

by:

I received the tires 4 or 5 days after ordering. They were purchased in the event that I have a need to replace my existing golf cart tires. I may not need them for years into the future

I replaced 1 tire immediately and it has functioned well for the past year. I have stored the 2nd tire as a spare if and when needed

by:

The etrailer customer support team exceeded my expectation in every way. When my original order arrived damaged, the team took notice of my feedback and worked diligently to assure I was a satisfied customer even after I indicated replacement was unnecessary. Way to go etrailer team! 5 Stars

  • Replacement Tires For Pontoon Boat Trailer
The numbers you referenced for your tires, 20 x 10 x 8, are the older tire sizes for a 6 inch rim, and have been replaced with different numbers. If the tire you have is a 10 inch tire, the replacement for that would be 205/64-10 for a 6 inch rim. If you have an 8 inch tire, you can check out the attached helpful article about tire sizing and find the options on the chart for 8 inch tires. You will want to choose the tire by the load range rating you need. For instance, the tire I recommend...

  • Determining Correct Race For Inner Bearing L68149 On Boat Trailer
Since you know which bearing your trailer uses, the # L68149, and just aren't sure on the correct race you will need to use digital calipers # PTW80157 to precisely measure the inside diameter of your hub where the race will get installed. If you get a measurement of 2.327" you will need the # L68110, and if it measures 2.361" you will need the # L68111 instead. When it comes to a replacement hub unfortunately we do not have one compatible with your spindle due to your spindle needing...

  • Recommended Modern Replacement for 20.5 x 8-10 Tire/Wheel on 1986 Coleman Chesepeake Pop-Up
The modern equivalent to the 20.5 x 8-10 tire size would be 205/65-10. You'll want to choose tires with a combined capacity that exceeds the GVWR (maximum allowed weight of pop-up itself plus gear stowed in it) of the camper. Given the 1300 lb weight I found in my research which is likely the dry weight of the camper, I'd choose a load range C tire, which would provide a combined 2200 lbs of capacity which should be more than sufficient. If you need a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, I'd recommend...

Thank you for the details! Your 20.5x8-10 tire size was replaced by the 205/65-10 tire size so that's what we'll be looking at. We have a few different tire and wheel combinations depending on what kind of load range you're looking for: Load Range B - # AM3H350 (910 lbs at 35 psi) Load Range C - # AM3H390 (1,100 lbs at 50 psi) Load Range E - # AM3H480 (1,650 lbs at 90 psi) That last set of digits "10" indicates the wheel size which is measured from bead seat to bead seat which is likely...

The capacity of the tires you have on your trailer that are 205/65-10 with a Load Range rating of B like part # AM1HP50 will have a capacity of 910-lbs at 35 psi or 1820-lbs per axle. To upgrade to a 6-ply Load Range C rated tire like part # AM1HP52 would make the capacity 1,100-lbs at 50 psi or 2,200-lbs per axle. I recommend going with the # AM1HP52 tire for the added weight capacity. At the maximum air pressure, the tires will perform and wear best, and get the best gas mileage. If...

  • Will 205/65-10 Trailer Tire Fit in Place of 205/50-10 Trailer Tire
It can, so long as you have the right amount of clearance from the top of your tire to your fender (approximately 3 inches). A 205/65-10 trailer tire measures 20.5" in diameter and a 205/50-10 trailer tire measures 18.1" in diameter so you'll need to account for the roughly 2-1/2" of size for the larger tire (though since only half of that is on top of the tire you'll only need an extra 1-1/4" of space on top of the tire). You'll want to verify this but unless your current tire is very...

Since you do not have much clearance between your existing tire and the trailer frame with the 5.30-12 on the trailer I do not recommend to use 20.5 x 8-10 tires because the section width is actually wider than the existing tire that you have on the trailer. The modern equivalent to 20.5 x 8-10 tires is a 205/65-10 and even at their lightest load range of B part # AM1HP50 the section width is still 8.3" compared to the 5.30-12 load range B part # AM10064 that is 5.6" section width. • Pros/Cons To Replacing Or Upgrading Tires And Wheels On A Pop Up Camper
Hello Paul. The main factor to consider when replacing/upgrading your tires is the clearance in the fender area. Our rule of thumb is that you want at least 3" between the tire and the fender, and at least 1" between the inside of the tire and the frame of the trailer. If you have already checked and verified that you have adequate clearance, there really is no downside to going with larger tires. One thing to keep in mind when upgrading tires is we do not want to overkill the load rating...

For a 205/50-10 tire I recommend using the Kenda K399 Pro-Tour Bias part # AM40406 and for a 205/65-10 tire I recommend using the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire part # AM1HP50. First of all, the trailer tires that we carry are rated for a maximum of 65 miles per hour unless otherwise noted on the tire sidewall. Going faster than this will cause rapid heat build up in a trailer tire (which has a thicker sidewall) and can lead to failure. When tires wear out in the middle that means that they are over inflated. You can try taking out about 5 psi or so until you get even tread wear. If a tire is inflated to the max psi, it should not wear unevenly. You may want...
