Are Load Range B Tires Safe on 1984 damper 159c Camper That Weighs 1450-lbs
Question:
Tires on the camper are currently 20.5/8/10 or 205/65 load range of b. Think what I found says the camper weighs about 1450lbs. Am I safe to stick with the b range. Or do I need to jump up to c range?

The capacity of the tires you have on your trailer that are 205/65-10 with a Load Range rating of B like part # AM1HP50 will have a capacity of 910-lbs at 35 psi or 1820-lbs per axle.
To upgrade to a 6-ply Load Range C rated tire like part # AM1HP52 would make the capacity 1,100-lbs at 50 psi or 2,200-lbs per axle.
I recommend going with the # AM1HP52 tire for the added weight capacity.
At the maximum air pressure, the tires will perform and wear best, and get the best gas mileage.
If a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than the maximum, the amount of weight that the tire can carry will be reduced. If a heavier load is put on the trailer tire than what is recommended for that air pressure, the sidewall of the tire could heat up and cause the tire to fail.
You should always inflate your tires when they are cold.
If a tire is over-inflated, it will wear more in the center of the tread, all the way around the tire. If a tire is under-inflated, it will wear on the outside edges of the tread, all the way around the tire.
