An example hauling a heavy load with and without Timbren.

When hauling heavy loads, the resistance from Timbren's hollow rubber springs will work with the trailer's suspension to raise the trailer's ride height. This is will take additional strain off of the hitch components and help the trailer ride easier.

Under pressure, hollow rubber springs are designed to progressively support the suspension.

The Timbren system includes brackets that will be bolted to the trailer frame above the axle. Hollow rubber springs are then bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits one inch above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride you are used to.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape provides increased resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the trailer level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of the trailer. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when hauling off-center loads.

An example of a trailers swaying without Timbren SES

Timbren Suspension systems help compensate for all of the probable causes of trailer sway from unbalanced loads to gusts of wind from passing vehicles. Installing Timbren will make your trailer track better behind your vehicle and provide a safer more comfortable towing experience.

  • How Much Clearance Should be Between Tires and Fenders on Unloaded Trailer
It all depends on how much the suspension travels but I would say unloaded you would want at least an inch from the tops of the tires to the bottom of the fenders. Keep in mind though that over time the springs will flatten out some, as much as half an inch, so keep that in mind years down the road. You could also add some suspension enhancement, # TTRA1032, rated for 7,000 pounds, which will help with support and ride quality. And it will prolong the life of the suspension. For a tandem...

  • Where to Measure 3 Axle Trailer to Determine Weight Capacity
Sounds like you are trying to figure out the weight capacity for your 3 axle trailer. It is nearly impossible to determine leaf spring capacity based on dimensions. But you can determine axle capacity by measuring. Since your axles are 3 inches in diameter it would seem that they are 6k to 7.2k rated axles. For suspension enhancement to help support your current setup you would want the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement # TTRA1032 or you would need to replace your current springs...

  • Trailer Suspension Enhancement For Big Tex 14PH Trailer With 7,000LB Axles and 2" Slipper Springs
For your Big Tex 14PH trailer I recommend the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers 7,000 lbs # TTRA1032. You will need one kit for each of your axles. These will fit between the axle tub and frame to provide you with better support and a smoother ride. The SumoSprings are only designed to fit 1-3/4" wide spring applications. I have linked the installation instructions below that show how these fit and how the mounting plates will need to be positioned and then...

  • Does Bump Stop Have to be Used When Installing Dexter Over Under Suspension Kit
Dexter "highly" recommends using a bump stop of some kind when installing their over under kits like the # K71-385-00 that you referenced. It is not an absolute requirement but if you do not have much suspension travel currently it might be a good idea. You could use a Timbren kit like the part # TTRA1032 which would act as a jounce/bump stop.

Since the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Mount Kit w/Heavy Duty Oil Shocks - Fits 2-3/8" Axle Tube # LC281255 won't work due to your slide out, and the Joy Rider systems only are for either 2 inch or 3 inch axles, I have another option for you to consider. We have the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle - 5-5/8" Equalizers # K71-652-00 or the Lippert Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers - 3K to 6K # LC279687. • Correct Timbren and SumoSprings for 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3540GK
I apologize for any confusion from the previous response. The 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3540GK does in fact come with 7,000 lb overslung axles. The correct Timbren is the # TTRA1032 which works with both the underslung and overslung configuration. The correct SumoSprings are the # SS26MV. If I were to recommend one it would be the SumoSprings. They will give you a smoother ride when compared to the stiffer Timbren.

To assist with the stability of the trailer, an air suspension system will give you the support you are seeking for off center loads as well as offering a smoother ride and support for off center loads. For this system, I recommend the Lippert Components Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade - Tandem Axle # LC1565391. This system also raises your trailer about 2 inches to give you additional clearance. If you want suspension support but don't want the air system, you may...

The Equa-Flex Equalizer, Item # LC279687, is already an upgraded equalizer so there are not many "next level" options. The Lippert Components Center Point Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade, Item # LC1565391, is an overall better system but not significantly so. If you need a smoother ride, you could add shocks like the Lippert Bolt-On Mount Kit w/Heavy Duty Shocks, Item # LC281281. • How To Fix Trailer Leaning To One Side
It is not uncommon for a trailer to lean to one side even from the factory as heavier appliances can be on the same side or there could be multiple slides on that side. In order to try and combat this issue there are options from SumoSprings and Timbren. The SumoSprings are made of a much softer material than the Timbrens so although they are better at retaining ride quality, they could still allow the trailer to lean. Therefore, the Timbrens would be the best option for leaning. I recommend...

For a 7,000 lb axle kit you would want the part # TTRA1032. For a 10k axle kit you would need the # TTRA15252. • Cedar Creek Hathaway 5th Wheel Suspension Enhancement Recommendation
The Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers # TTRA1032 that you referenced will give your trailer's suspension a noticeable amount of additional support. It will help level your trailer side to side as the additional support will reduce the sag on that side of the trailer. I'd recommend making sure that you have the correct rated leaf springs on your trailer and that they aren't worn out either.

  • Recommendation of Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System for a 3,000-Lb Utility Trailer
I would recommend to use the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System , part # TTRA1032, on your 3,000-lb utility trailer. This enhancement system is for medium-duty trailers. It has a weight capacity of 7,000 lbs. This does not mean that you will be able to carry more weight than what your trailer is rated for, but it will help reduce sag and sway when you put the load of your equipment on the trailer. It is always better to have more weight capacity than not enough weight capacity....

  • How To Prevent 5th Wheel Trailer From Leaning

We don't offer any add-a-leaf kits or spacers unfortunately.

For a 7k axle like what you have we have the Timbren kit part # TTRA1032 which is rated properly and will do a great job to give you additional trailer suspension support, but the SumoSpring kit part # TSS-103-40 can only be used on a 3,500 lb trailer axle.

  • Will the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Help with Uneven Tire Wear
Suspension enhancement will not help uneven tire wear on your trailer. Even with the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System, # TTRA1032, installed, all of the weight will still be placed on the axle. The only help these springs will provide is to give your trailer a little better ground clearance when it is loaded. If your tires are wearing unevenly, your axle might be overloaded. • Can Higher Capacity Leaf Springs be Used on a Trailer Weighed Down by a Bobcat Tractor
I do not recommend using higher capacity springs because that will give you a stiff ride. Also the different springs may require a different hanger orientation and since the hangers are welded on this is a professional job since the old ones have to be cut off and new ones welded on. Even if you added the higher capacity springs, the axle and tire capacities will not also increase so you could easily overload the trailer.
