Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Can’t go wrong. These are excellent products from a good brand. New brake assemblies fit like a glove.

by:

Original equipment and fit perfectly. Nothing like new brakes. E-trailer sent the items to me within a week.

by:

Think I received the wrong size on first order. But seller was quick to send another version that did fit. After struggling with getting old parts off, the less time between that and putting new parts on, the greater the satisfaction of getting everything back together. But even with a couple of weeks passing, I can tell you that the new parts go back on a whole lot easier than the old parts came off! All told, it was a good company to deal with, and they do work with you to get the right parts. Its cheaper for them to get it right the first time, but they can't see what you have in front of you. That said, some of their charts of what SHOULD be the right parts, were not in my case, and I bought the trailer new and know that no one modified it. But trailer manufactures change things up sometimes, and the documentation is not good. That said, you can rely on this seller to help you when you need it.

by:

My home-made (not by me) trailer used trailer house axles, and the hubs were shot when I got it. Based on the spindle dimensions (thanks, eTrailer!), I determined that these 5200-lb hub/drum assemblies would fit, and they did perfectly. I've repacked many wheel bearings, so installing these was simple. They spin smoothly and seem to do their job well. The most weight I've put on these four hubs is about 5800 lbs, which was near the limit for the tires, but not a problem for the hubs. I've also driven an hour down the highway on multiple occasions, and have no complaints.

I haven't wired up my brakes yet, so I can't comment on how well the drums work.

by:

The four Dexter hubs arrived on time without damage due to the packing technique. They fit and mounted on my Dexter trailer axles perfectly.

by:

Great service...

by:

Much more rust than I expected, I may have to take one drum to a brake shop and have it turned to clean up the rust.

by:

The brakes on my 2002 Komfort 24-TS trailer were completely shot. I needed to replace the drums (cheaper than having them turned). I also needed to replace the electric brake assemblies and to upgrade them from manual to automatic adjusting. I called etrailer.com a couple of times to make sure I was ordering the rights parts and the phone reps were very helpful and courteous. The parts arrived on time and in good shape. I had everything I needed to complete the job. It took me all day to do all 4 wheels but I saved myself a whopping $1,000 over having the shop do the job.

Fantastic!

by:

I ordered 4 drums that came with bearings, seals, lug nuts, and dust caps. the bearings all came loose with no protection. one of the drums came without the package of bearings, seal, lug nuts, and dust cap. when they sent me the replacement package it came with a different seal definitely cheap Chinese junk also no dust cap. the bearings were Chinese as well. I will never order from this company again.

Fit exactly as expected to replace obsolete hub requiring wheels no longer available. Have about 500 loaded miles on it. Performed as expected.

by:

Wanted to wait until after our most recent trip with our trailer before giving you the one year follow-up. Just pulled the trailer almost 1000 miles in the Rocky Mountains. The Nev-R-Adjust brakes & drums worked great and I felt very confident in their performance. I really appreciate not having to crawl under the trailer to adjust the brakes. All are good products and I would recommend them to all.

by:

So this was the final upgrade to an 18 year old travel trailer - new brake assemblies, bearings, seals and hubs. The new brakes were a great improvement after a couple of trips break in, assembly was easy (although I do recommend buying a couple extra seals, just in case they get bent on install (ask me how I know). I have never worked on axles before but as a confident diy-er I was comfortable tackling it. Great products that were perfect fit made this an easy deal.

by:

I have ordered from etrailer.com on other occasions and for the most part what keeps me coming back in the pricing. They usually have the lowest price for the same original equipment. Be careful if you haven't heard that your product has shipped in a reasonable amount of time, even if their website says they have the item in stock. They will hold your order until they have all the parts to ship. I had not seen a shipped email for almost a week and when I called they said they would have it to ship in mid august, about a month after I ordered. I was told they had a similar item in stock ready to ship now if I wanted to change my order. I appreciated that and did change my order, however, I needed to know that information at the time they knew it because I had to change my vacation plans because I could not get the parts in time to take our 5th wheel. Overall this is a good place to order parts from and I will keep doing so.

by:

Dexter provided a new rear seal, but it was the wrong size (apparently they use two different sizes of spindles on these axles). They also neglected to include a new cotter pin. Otherwise its a great product.

It is possible that the spindle could use a seal that has the outer dimension of 3.376 and an inner diameter of 2.25 like part # RG06-070. A cotter pin isnt included with the hub however we do have them available like part # 3371302250.

by:

The hub is a quality replacement for the OE hub/drums on an 1967 Airstream. The bearings/seals that come with the kit are not quite the quality I trust, but local shops have better quality ones available. Also, I'm confused as to why it's not listed (and confirmed in sales rep replies of customer questions) for 15" wheels as it fits in the two different styles of 15" wheels we have with plenty of clearance and the neutral offset loads the bearings correctly. I'd also recommend running a thread chaser on the lugs as paint can cause nuts to jam and not seat fully and thus work lose. All in all, with a little TLC, a better replacement option than rebuilding the original hubs.

by:

Very professional staff.had nothing left for brakes and Jesse hooked me up.everything fit perfectly.Thank you for the fast shipping too

Perfect

by:

Bought these for my trailer house axles. I converted to 6 lugs. Everything was easy. I don't use the brakes as of now. But t looks like a perfect fit. When I do go to brakes ill buy the parts for that.

by:

Recieved drum a day earlier than expected. Was a little concerned when I got it because the bottom of the box was open about 4in. Opened and everything seemed to be there. Almost exact replacement for my 97 prowler 5th wheel. Only difference was original drum had slots on sides to adjust the brakes without having to crawl under the camper. Overall it looks to be very good quality. Just pack the beaings, install grease seal, put on and adjust the brakes. Done!!!!!

by:

Same as the backing plates, these hub and drum assemblies fit just right and have been doing a good job on my 10,000 LB dump trailer for over a year now with no issues.

by:

Replacing mobilehome brakes and drum. Ordered drums, brake assemblies, and mounting flanges. Hard part was the flange. The rest is easy. Very satisfied with product and service.

by:

Purchased 4 new dexter hub assy's with bearings. So far so good. No problems to report.

by:

Exact match, installed with new backing plate ordered as well. Packaging could of been better, had 1/4" x 3" rear edge of forward shoe chipped off due to you folks placing drum onto backing plate at an angle during boxing. Have seen this error occur many times from someone not wanting to smash fingers this way with heavy hub assy. Ease to install and adjust, heed my advice to pay attention in the shipping dept to not have damage done this way again.

by:

Product was exactly as described and worked perfectly as a replacement on my Ezloader trailer, shipping was very fast and employees were very knowledgeable and friendly on the phone.

by:

Very good quality, with straightforward installation. Only negative is the fact that the kit doesnt come with new key washer, castle nut, and cotter pin. So if using this kit make sure to save those!

by:

Shipping was fast Parts Fit just right and Great Price
I make my living moving my equipment on my trailers and when one is out of service it coast me money with etrailer parts and fast shipping I'm up and going in no time. Thanks etrailer

  • Recommended Trailer Hubs and Wheels for Axle with 25580 Inner and LM67048 Outer Bearing
I recommend starting with the Dexter # 8-213-5UC1 (hubs) or the # 8-201-5UC3 (hub and drum) that use the # 25580 inner bearing and # LM67048 outer bearing; these hubs both have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern, and come pre-greased so they're ready to install. If you're using the # 8-201-5UC3 you can add brakes using 12" brakes like the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA. The bearings, cap, and seals are included with the Hub and drum. However, this hub wouldn't be compatible with a 15 inch wheel, which is what you were wanting because you already have a set of tires for a 15 inch wheel. The hub part # 8-201-5UC3 is a 12 by 2 inch drum/hub that calls for a brake assembly that measures the same.
