Matte black, powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant and creates a rugged look.Great hitch...but one suggestion. Put holes in the bottom of the tube by the receiver. There no way for all the water to drain out. The only reason I had to buy another hitch is because of saltwater sitting in the tube over the last few years. It all rusted out so bad that I could no longer use it...
I am either going to plug the four holes or drill holes in the bottom.

Product is good but shipping poorly packed. It came with both sides of the packaging broken open and the hitch hanging out. Scratched up down to bare metal. Also the decals the put on for the hitch rating fell off in shipping
Install was fairly easy and been holding up great hauling a dirt bike around to the tracks!
The quality of the hitch is excellent, 5 stars. We ran into a slight issue with our 2019 Kia Sorrento LX in Minnesota, where the drivers side M10 bolt hole is rusted and we’re unable to get that particular bolt to thread in. We will re-thread the hole and it’ll be fine, just one of this unforeseen problems you run into when doing your own maintenance on a vehicle. The hitch though, is great so far. Perfect fit for the vehicle. If I had one complaint I’d say I wish the bolts were physically labeled better or being able to figure out the difference between 1/2” and 7/16”, I mean logic told me that 1/2 is bigger, but some people might not know the difference!
The trailer hitch is outstanding except for one problem. When you mount everything...you cannot access the bolt to lower the spare tire. You have to use a wrench because the hitch is in the way.

The product is great other than always having a 11mm wrench on hand to get the spare wheel off because the hitch is in the way of the rotating thing to lower than wheel.
2nd hitch I've bought from etrailer and I will keep coming back. Hitch came in on time and in great shape no shipping damage at all.
As an installer, we haven’t had any issues over the years with the hitches provided etrailer

box has been penatrated by hitch multiple places, and where ever box is penatrated, hitches powdwer coating is chipped off!
VERY POOR QUALITY PACKAGING!!!
I am not a powder coater to fix! to just paint to repeir will look like CRAP on this $40k car!!
Use it all the time. I was rear ended a few months ago and the hitch saved my car from serious damage. It also passed inspection after the collision and is still holding strong!
Easy install. Great product. I use this hitch with a Kuat bike rack and it's solid. I would buy it again! I had very little help installing with 2 friends. The most challenging part was aligning bolts with the frame but this was expected and we completed the task within an hour.

This is the second hitch that I have ordered from etrailer. I giving it a 5 star because it did fit. When I opened the box there were places that were wore down to the bare metal. I had some flat black spray that i used to cover the metal. I think it could packaged better. It should have in great big letters that all "BOLTS ARE NOTE SAME". I failed to see that the bolts were different dia. going through the frame. I got one stuck and cost me a lot of time. This is my fault! I couldn't get the rubber muffler hanger off the right side. After I removed the wheel it was easy. Steering is easier to turn, you can tell the weight has changed on the car. I might try to find some small rubber spring bumpers for the rear coils. Just like to feel the front wheels with more contact to the road. My last hitch looked good til I sold my car and hope this one is the same.

When your trailer hitch has paint that has flaked off, covering the bare spots with spray paint is a great idea and what we recommend. Ive attached an installation video of this hitch on a 2018 Sorento. Around the 5:55 mark our installer calls out to use the smaller size carriage bolts on the passenger side. Your tip of taking the tire off to get better access to the muffler hanger is also a great suggestion. Finally, I checked our fit guide and unfortunately we do not currently have any suspension enhancement designed to fit your 2017 Kia Sorento.

Product look decent. Packaging and shipping needs major improvement to prevent scratches and chips of coating. It might have better protected the side of the hitch receiver if it was wrapped or secured to the box like the middle part.

Im sorry to see that your hitch has received some scratches on it due to shipping. This does tend to happen and when it does, we recommend using a Rust-oleum type paint to cover up any scratches and prevent corrosion in the future during use. I have a link below for your reference. Really happy with the quality of the hitch. Installation wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be everything lined up great. I highly recommend watching the etrailer installation videos before installing the hitch and wire harness. Great products and arrived earlier than expected. If I need another hitch in the future it will come from etrailer.

Hitch has worked with out any issues. Purchased a new travel trailer using a WDS. Also purchased Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional. Installed it and works great. If your tired of looking on line for towing accessories just go to etrailer. They haven’t let me down.
Installed myself in about an hour. With the help of my floor jack it was very easy. Would have been easier with two people. Watched videos on installation. Very straight forward. Going to carry a luggage rack for musical equipment ( mic stands, music stands, sign rack ect.). Wish I took pictures of installation.

I am truly happy I bought this hitch receiver for my SUV, just unhook my trailer from my vehicle. Now o can use my SUV to pull my trailer when my pick up isn’t available. Thanks e trailer for a great product!!!
This hitch is exactly what I needed for my E-Bikes. It was easy to install and looks great. I researched hitch receivers online and this was the best rated, and for good reason.

Great! Super good hitch that carries two E-bikes. Bikes are easy to load, stable during driving and easy off.
Hitch fit perfectly and associated installation video gave me the confidence to do the install myself.
The hitch is very solid, and goes on quickly and easily. How easy depends on the tools you have at your disposal. I had a lift and other equipment to hold the hitch in place while securing it. Most of the time was spent just reattaching plastic nuts on the bottom of the KIA. You have to lower the spare tire on the KIA, as well as remove the plastic box on the left side, this allows you room to thread the side bolts and tighten them. I bought this hitch so I could use bike racks with a 2" receiver for maximum strength. I'm very happy with it.
Great product. I am fairly handy but anyone that can use a wrench and follow instructions can install this hitch. Looks great and works as advertised!
Both the hitch and the wireing kit wher easy to install and work great . The first wireing kit was not the right one for my car but I sent it back with no problem and with instruction's the right one instaled just fine .
had one hole a little off, front right rear, hard to tell if from hitch or frame of vehicle. had all bolts loose and was able to get all in and torqued.
Have had the hitch for a year and use it regularly to tow my fishing boat (and several U-Haul trailers). Easy install from good instructions and it looks as good now was when first installed. The paint is not showing any wear.
I bought this for my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe (base model) to tow a light flatbed trailer and also to attach my bike rack to (see photo). This was an easy install. I recommend watching the video that etrailer has posted, and to get the tools recommended - especially the strap to hold the muffler up and the pry bar to get the muffler rubber mounts off. You'll also definitely need someone to help you because it's pretty heavy and cumbersome to to slide into place. I can tell the hitch receiver was built with quality materials and craftmanship. You'll need longer zip ties if you end up purchasing a wiring harness in order to strap down the long cables. Definitely worth buying.
