Recommended Equipment to Tow a Trailer with a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe
Question:
I want to tow a trailer with my 2020 Santa Fe but I'm not sure what to get. What do you recommend?

The basics to tow a trailer include a trailer hitch, wiring for the trailer lights, and a ball mount kit (ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin & clip).
For your 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98843 because it has a matte black finish that matches the accents of your vehicle and helps to hide dents and scratches from road debris better than glossy black finishes do.
The wiring kit I recommend is the Curt T-Connector # CU94FR because it has the highest amp ratings and the most reliable converter box available. You will need the mounting brackets # 18144 and # CU94FR to have the wiring at the ready near your hitch receiver.
Then for a ball mount kit I recommend the Curt Fusion Ball Mount # C45155 because it's a simple, yet effective kit for your application as most trailers you will tow will use a 2" hitch ball.
I took a look at the online owner's manual for your Santa Fe and it looks like you will need a brake controller to tow anything over about 1,600 lbs. For this I recommend installing the 7-Way Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L for the wiring (in addition to the T-One mentioned above) which then allows you to use the Curt Echo # C51180 brake controller. This controller is easy to install and use as it simply plugs into the 7-Way and then you adjust settings via your Apple/Android smart device. When you aren't using the brake controller it is small enough to even fit in your glove box.
Attached are installation videos, manuals, and some reviews that you can check out.
