I like this hitch. It tucks in nicely under the bumper. It a better finished look. Install went well. The wiring was easy enough to do also.

2010 Ford Edge

Hitch arrived on time and in good condition. The only trouble I had was determining which holes in the frame to pull the bolts through. I looked at the hitch and it appeared to me that the rear hole was offset and since there are three holes in each frame rail I assumed that the rear bolt went into the outer hole. WRONG. Both bolts go straight in line with each other, into the two holes in the frame that are closest to the muffler. Once I discovered that I had to move one bolt over about 3/4 of an inch into the correct hole but I was able to do it rather easily.

I used a floor jack to raise the hitch up into place which means I didn't need another person to help.

My only complaint was with the "etrailer.com" sticker on the back of the hitch. Whoever put it on must have been in a contest to see who could put it on the crookedest. I think he won. I'm going to peel it off because it really looks bad.

The paint still looks good and the hitch works like it should. Good sturdy hitch.

2009 Ford Edge

The hitch arrived with the light kit. The hitch was packaged very well with the light kit inside. The hitch was easy to install and looks like a professional installation. The most difficult part of the installation was routing the power wire from the battery, but after a little time it has worked flawlessly since the installation. I will most definitely recommend trailer to everyone I know.(See attached picture!)

Hitch works great-the light kit works good as well. Was one of the easiest hitches to install! I will buy from you again when I need a hitch!

E Trailer is The Best. After watching a video it was so easy to install my hitch.
I also purchased a Trule bike rack and am very happy with it.

2007 Ford Edge

Everything fit nice. The only issue was the 17/32 drill bit required. [online] what were you thinking. That bit is so random and hard to find. I ended up using a 9/16 and didn't need to ream the hole. The zip ties were a friends idea, and it helped hold it in place while since it was only me and my 17yr old niece doing the install.

by:
2012 Ford Edge

Mostly easy to install. The video and instructions are great until it came time to fish the carriage bolts (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). The video shows fishing from the side of the frame rails which our 2012 is sealed off. There was a reviewer that recommended taking the tail lights, bumper cover, bumper off, that should be steps 2, 3 and 4 after dropping the muffler. You don't even need the fish wires with the bumper off. Although when replacing the bumper cover, pay more attention to the center anchor of the bumper cover than I did. All in all though, this was an easy install. If I had to do it again, with an extra set of hands, can be done easily in an hour ... the second time, without the wiring. Attached is a mostly complete installation.

2014 Ford Edge

Great solid construction and very appealing installed on our 2014 Edge. I've seen many other types of hitches in the road and by far this is the cleanest looking one. I did have to mount my plug adapter on an angle but feel it doesn't take away from attractiveness of hitch. Even after a year of regular use, has minuscule amount of rust just around where the ball mount attaches. clean it up a bit and touch it up with a little gloss paint and looks good as new. Would highly recommend this hitch to others.

Lincoln MKX

Great product and support from etrailer. I ordered the hitch for my Lincoln MKX and installed it myself. I followed the etrailer video, took my time and had it installed in a few hours. No problem. Hitch is high quality and performing top notch. I also ordered and installed the blue-ox tow package, brake system and a wiring package on my MKX. All excellent. Highly recommended.

2010 Ford Edge

Great Price! Shipping was super fast. I ordered on Tuesday at 2pm and the hitch was sitting in my garage on Thursday by noon. Installation was easy thanks to the how to video on your site. I was a little apprehensive about having to lower my exhaust and drill two holes but it was smooth and easy. The fish wires to pull the bolts through the frame are genius and made an impossible task simple. The Curt hitch looks great on my 2010 Ford Edge. I towed my boat with it the next day and it was smooth sailing.

Very easy install, took about 30 minute s.

by:
2013 Ford Edge

I was concerned about how this was going to fit on my 2013 Edge Sport, but it went in really well with a very minor trim on the lower plastic. I don't imagine it will ever be removed, so I went ahead and trimmed the plastic for it pushed it up a good 2 inches and I didn't want to risk deforming it elsewhere. It is a really a great hitch, installed easily, probably overkill for this vehicle, definitely a solid unit.

by:
2013 Ford Edge

The install video for this hitch indicates that routing the carriage bolts through the end of the frame rail is easy. On my installation this was not the case at all, and was virtually impossible without removing the rear bumper cover and bumper itself. Once the taillights, bumper cover and bumper itself were removed the installation of the mounting bolts was very easy. I defiantly recommend having a second set of hands for installing the hitch to the bolts, and the use of a floor jack is also recommended. Once installed the hitch looks great and is very solid. Only 4 stars because this did not go as the video shows.

2010 Ford Edge

Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome site and service.
I just installed it on my ford 2010 edge and everything went smoothly. It took me about 1.5hrs to install. The exhaust was very easy. Getting the screws in were a bit trick especially the 3rd ones but manageable.
At the end it looked perfect. I got my sister to buy one for her Honda Odessey.
Thank u eTrailor ur videos were invaluable.

2014 Ford Edge

Following the online video, flawless install! Looks great & hidden well on our Sport! I used some threadlocker on the nuts, otherwise did just as instructed in video. Don't really think we will PULL anything, more for luggage. That way we have room for our dogs when we travel. Piece of advice, have vehicle washed b4 install. As not to "eat" soo much dirt.

Came nicely wrapped, painted , ready to install , bolts , nuts and washers , everything you need.
Installed easily, looks great.
Thanks job well done.

2013 Ford Edge

Ordered this product and installed in my garage with basic tools, by myself. The instructional videos online are spot on, to the point, and very easy to follow. Shipping and packing came as promised with no issues. I will for sure use this company and its products again.

Thank you

Good video on installation. Made it very easy. Super service from etrailer.

by:

Great product. I like this over the others because it does hang down. You don’t lose departure angle versus the others but it also tends to protect the muffler if anything strikes that area. Also, no need to drop the muffler to install. Can be done easily but do need to push it slightly To make room for the drill to drill the holes required. 2nd pair of hands is enough for that. Pictured with 1up installed.

Fast delivery, all parts were in the package, and the installation video online made this an easy DIY. Was quoted twice as much for same hitch receiver and another several hundred on top of that to install by several local shops.

2013 Lincoln MKX

I received and installed this 2" hitch on my 2013 Lincoln MKX. It is a very well built hitch and fit perfectly on the car. I did have a lift so it was much easier to install but the video by etrailer was excellent as a guide. I use the hitch for a bike rack right now but may in the future decide to tow a small trailer. I have every confidence that the hitch will serve me well.

2015 Lincoln MKX

My Curt Hitch for my Lincoln MKX arrived a day early and I installed it the next day. It was rated 7 out of 10 for difficulty, but I had no problem installing it all by myself. Working with my MXK on a set of ramps, and on my back laying on 15 year old creeper I was able to get the job done in a couple of hours. The on line help video was exceptional and I knew exactly what I had to do after watching it. I used a jack and a 2 by 4 to support the exaust instead of a strap like they showed in the video and it worked fine. I'll be 60 on my next birthday, and I must admit I'm a little more mechanically inclined than most, but I don't turn many wrenches these days. If after watching the etrailer video you think you can do it, then, by all means, dont be afraid to try it! It's a piece of cake!

Michael

I like the product very much and dealing with etrailer was one of my better on-line purchases. Also, I gave you a good referral to my son-in-law TJeremy Loomis who purchased a hitch from you in 2014 for his Toyota Highlander. Good companies like yours are good for e-commerce! Keep up the good work!

2011 Ford Edge

The hitch is good. More robust than what I need for my bike carrier.
Installation on our 2011 Ford Edge was more of a job than I could at home an even was challenging for Johns Trailer to do. I would have been better off to have had them do their hitch and labor.
The make and model of SUV did not work well with this hitch.
The end results are very good and our bike carrier work well with it.

Bill B.

It still is doing a good job for our bikes. The paint finish is good no rust.

  • Carrying 3 Kayaks on a 2013 Ford Edge
In my research I found that the load-carrying capacity of the roof on your 2013 Edge is 100 lbs. A roof rack that clips to the door frame would have a limited weight capacity and would not clear the side rails on your Edge. I am afraid 3 kayaks would weigh much more than the roof weight capacity of your roof but I do have a recommendation. I recommend installing a hitch and using a small trailer like the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, part # Y08106. This trailer has two 66 inch round crossbars...

  • Is Rear Bumper Trimming Required to Install Curt Trailer Hitch # C13067 on a 2008 Lincoln MKX
When installing Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13067, on your 2008 Lincoln MKX, the rear bumper/fascia does not have to be trimmed but there is a heat shield underneath the vehicle that will need to be trimmed. According to the installation instructions, which I have linked for you, there is only a small tab on each heat shield (2 total) that need to be trimmed. You are correct about having a class III hitch. The extra capacity will be handy and you will have more options in terms of accessories....

  • Availability of Trailer Hitch for 2013 Ford Edge Sport
The dealer might not offer it, but we have a hitch for the 2013 Ford Edge Sport model. I'd recommend going with the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 75728. Unlike the Curt C13067, the Draw-Tite model doesn't require that a safety strap like # 18050 be used for hitch mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need a few other items to complete your towing system: Trailer wiring harness, part # 118515 Ball mount kit, part...

  • How to Use the Fish Wires When Installing the Curt Custom-Fit Trailer Hitch
On your 2010 Ford Edge, to install the Curt Custom-Fit Trailer Hitch, # C13067, you will need to use the included fish wires to help pull the mounting bolt through the frame of your vehicle. To install the bolts on to the fish wires you will need to thread the bolts on to the coil end of the fish wire. Then you will thread the other end of the fish wire through frame of your Ford Edge until the threaded end of the bolt will be accessible to mount the hitch. I have included an installation...

  • Trailer Hitch & Wiring for 2014 Ford Edge
Both Draw-Tite and Curt hitches are good quality products. While one given hitch fit may favor one brand over the other in total they both offer excellent products. Curt hitches can sometimes have a nicer powder coat finish, and since they are made in the USA they do offer that appeal. Of the options available I suggest the Draw-Tite 2-inch Class III hitch # 75992 for its lower price and freedom from the Curt requirement of using a support strap with non-trailer loads like bike racks....

The two Class III hitch options available for your 2012 Ford Edge Sport are the Curt # C13067 and the Draw-Tite # 75728. I recommend the Draw-Tite for its higher weight capacity, no-drill installation and for the freedom from having to use a support strap # 18050 for non-trailer loads like bike racks, a warranty requirement for the Curt hitch. We don't have the exact spacer block that would've been included with the # C13067 hitch but the # RP3022 comes very close. The block is a little narrower, and the hole is centered rather than being on one end. This means that the block may try to spin once the bolt is being tightened. If this happens, use an impact wrench. The impact wrench will spin fast enough to prevent the block from spinning. It might take a minute or so, but the bolt will tighten.
