Sturdy. Shipped quick.

The whole process was as painless as it could possibly be. After reviewing my choices on their website, I ordered the trailer hitch by phone. Cathy was knowledgeable and efficient and everything I need was quickly ordered. Shipping time was short and I was very satisfied with the packaging. The hitch itself looked great. Installation instructions were clear and it is easily a do it yourself project. I had a local garage install mine and it took less than 15 minutes. ($25).
The only "problem" I had was that the receiver I ordered came with a lock pin so I did not really need the separate pin I ordered. However, it's always good to have a spare.

  • How to Select the Proper Ball Mount for a 2008 Ford Explorer with 1-1/4 inch Factory Receiver Hitch
Your 2008 Ford Explorer with factory 1-1/4 inch hitch should use a Class II draw bar. The factory hitch on your Explorer has a slightly higher receiver so it is important to measure to determine the correct ball mount for your vehicle and the trailer. You can measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the explorer, then with the trailer tongue level measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler where it goes over the ball. If the truck measurement is higher than...

  • Recommended Ball Mount Without Hitch Ball for Trailer Hitch Receiver
We have over 100 options of ball mounts without a hitch ball. The short ball mount is where the issue may come in. I assume you want one that is 2 inches from the receiver opening collar and we don't have that specific measurement as different manufacturers have different collars on their hitches and each one is vehicle specific fit. I recommend the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45030 for a 2 inch receiver or # C45518 for a 1-1/4 inch receiver. I've linked the page to all of your...

  • Is Curt Hitch # C12111 a Fit for 2017 Ford Escape and Good Choice for Towing Small Trailer
The Curt Class II hitch part # C12111 that fits your 2017 Ford Escape would be a really solid choice for your application. It has towing capacities of 3,500 lb trailer weight so it would easily handle the weight of your ATVs and lawn mower. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. For a ball mount you'd want the # C45518 with hitch ball part # C40018 for a 2 inch ball or part # C40001 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. Then for trailer wiring the # C56320 is an easy to install and...

  • Which Ball Mount Recommended for Curt Class II Drawbar
You'll want to use a trailer ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank. For a 1-7/8 inch ball, use # C40001 and for a 2 inch ball, use # C40018. The coupler on your trailer will have the necessary ball size stamped on it.

  • Will the Curt Rockerball Fit on a Curt 45518 Ball Mount
Yes. The Curt Rockerball # C94CR can be used with the # C45518 ball mount since it has a 3/4" diameter ball mount hole and the ball mount platform is 3/4" thick.

  • Exhaust on 2011 Ford Taurus Rattles Against Trailer Hitch Going Over Bumps
The exhaust on any given vehicle could be able to move enough to make contact with a trailer hitch. If this happens there are some things that you can do to correct the issue. We have a help article on the subject that I have linked for you which includes the various ways that the issue can be resolved. If you go with Curt hitch # C12296 and plan on doing some towing then you can use ball mount # C45518. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer...

  • Is There a Drawbar and 2" Hitch Ball with 1" rise and 3/4" Hitch Ball Shank
When referencing a hitch ball. When you say 1" rise, if you are talking about the shank length then the closest we have to the measurements you provided is the TowSmart 2" Hitch Ball # TS54FR. This hitch ball is a 2" ball-1-1/2" shank length and 3/4" shank diameter. Typically when talking about rise, it is involving the drawbar. The Curt Class II Drawbar # C45518 (3/4" rise) is the closest we have to a 1" rise that fits a hitch ball with a 3/4" shank diameter. This drawbar fits in a 1-1/4"...

  • Available 1-1/4" Hitch for 2015 Toyota RAV4
Yes. There is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver available for the 2015 RAV4 with the Curt # C12108 and the wiring harness I recommend using is the Tekonsha # 118578; Tekonsha harnesses have extremely reliable converter boxes and will do a great job for you. You'll also need a ball mount, hitch ball, hitch pin and clip. For the ball mount I recommend using the Curt Class II Drawbar - 3/4" Rise, 1-1/4" Drop - 6-3/4" Long - 3,500 lbs # C45518, which needs a hitch ball with a 3/4" shank...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2005 Hyundai Tucson
Curt trailer hitch # C12126 for your 2005 Hyundai Tucson is rated for 300 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pound gross trailer weight like you said. It is one of the easier installs because it uses factory weld nuts inside the vehicle frame. You will likely need to clean out the weld nuts prior to installing the hitch. I have included some links that will help with that. According to the owner's manual the vehicle itself is rated for a maximum of 150 pounds tongue weight and 2,000 pounds...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2005 Subaru Baja
You're correct, the # 24735 has been discontinued by Draw-Tite, and is no longer available. The Curt # C11280 is very similar and would install in the same manner as shown in the video you referenced. Really the only difference between the hitches is that the Curt # C11280 uses a reinforcing ring around the receiver opening, and the Draw-Tite does not. The hitch has a 2000 lb towing/200 lb tongue weight capacity, so in order to tow your boat, you'll need to sure it doesn't exceed 2000...

  • How to Pick Out Ball Mount and Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Equinox
I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch while on level ground. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is on level ground. Next, you will need to compute the difference. If the hitch height is...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2007 Ford Ranger
Drilling is required to install Curt Class II trailer hitch # C12012 on your 2007 Ford Ranger. The instructions state that relocation of the spare tire bracket is not required but does not mention anything about the hitch interfering with the spare. We haven't had complaints about it so unless the spare tire is larger than the stock ones that could be on the truck you won't have an issue. All of the available trailer hitches for your truck will involve drilling. If you go with the Curt...

  • Towing Malone Kayak Trailer With 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
I took a look at the owner's manual of a 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the only specification I found about towing was that Toyota does not recommend Highlanders "with SE grade" tow a trailer so you would seem to be fine but the final word rests with the Toyota dealer and I recommend contacting them with your VIN so they can tell you with authority what your vehicle is capable of. Assuming you are fine to tow, in order to use the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with V-Style Carriers for 2...
