Hopkins Tow Lights mount on the back of your towed Jeep Wrangler.

These wireless, removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer. With this setup, you won't need to tap into existing wiring for installation. With other magnetic tow lights, you have to run cords from the lights to the front of the towed car or trailer every time you need to tow. These tow lights work wirelessly to eliminate that hassle. And the wireless design also allows you to move the lights from one vehicle to another in minutes.

Hopkins Tow Lights magnetic base.

The lights attach directly to any metal surface with the included heavy-duty, non-scratch magnets, which won't damage your paint. And the handy on/off switch lets you use the lights only when you need them, saving battery power.

The 4-way connector plugs into your Jeep Wrangler. The transmitter attaches to your tow Jeep Wrangler via a heavy-duty magnet.

Setup is simple. Plug the included transmitter into the 4-way flat trailer connector on your RV or tow vehicle. The transmitter mounts to the frame of the RV or tow vehicle using the built-in magnet. Turn the switch on the driver's-side light to "on," and attach the tow lights to the back of the towed car or trailer, as far apart as is practical. Secure any excess wire between the 2 lights with a twist tie.

Each light is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). A blinking LED indicator on the face of the driver's-side light signals low battery. This indicator should be checked every 2 hours to be sure your lights still have adequate power.

2024 Ford F-150

Used these to tow aluminum body F150. Magnets strong enough to securely attach below rear bumper which is about the only steel part available. Super easy to set up and they work perfectly

by:

They work great on my Class C pulling my Honda CRV.

by:
2019 Thor Windsport Motorhome

I just received them and tested them out and they work great. They are very bright and responsive. I look forward to using them in the future when I tow my vehicle behind my RV.

Haven’t used it yet. Looks good and delivery was fast.

VERY GOOD SERVICE I HAVE ORDER THINGS FROM FOR YEARS I THINK THEY ARE THE BEST BAR NONE

by:

Have issues with lights blinking erratic

by:

Ordered these because my car towing wiring had a problem and didn't have time to get it fixed. First set arrived but had a manufacturing defect and right hand light didn't work (not etrailer's fault!). Called etrailer and they were very accommodating in sending out a second set which arrived in time. The second set worked perfectly. Good service and extensive follow up by etrailer shows they care. I'll use them for other purchases any time!

Still works great. Save us on a trip when the car to RV connection went [bad].

by:

No big deal, install batteries and put on toad !

Should have done this years ago before they cut into my tail light wiring and also had to deal with rusted out 4 prong plug in over the years.

Still the best and not a problem, quality product

by:

Test connection went perfectly. Will see how it goes when we hit the road in May. The lights look well made and should last me a long time.

Thank for the great service!

Wonderful product

Lincoln MKZ

These things are the best thing since sliced bread!
We have a Lincoln MKZ that already has a hitch on the rear for towing a small enclosed trailer. The thought of having to "hard" wire in a wiring harness for towing behind the motorhome that would still allow the trailer to be towed was not a task I was looking forward to. etrailer suggested these as an alternative. Literally plug and play. Just plug the transmitter into the motorhome, install batteries and attach the magnetic based lights to the trunk of the MKZ and presto! DONE! I hooked the car up behind the motorhome and ran it down the freeway at 60-65 mph and all was good. Worked straight out of the box! Fantastic product!

by:

Works great no problems easy to install

by:

Great looking lights, LED wireless hook up makes this an easy installation and easy choice.

by:
Saturn Ion

These work well, bright. They do eat up regular Duracell batteries. After first use of these I switched to Lithium Ion. The lights were noticeably brighter in the daylight sun. The life of the batteries has drastically improved service. I have a habit of removing the batteries when not in use to enable greater duration; they do have an on/off switch built in, but it's so simple to remove them in case of phantom degradation. Over-all, I am very happy with these and installation on the car is a snap. Love them so far. Would buy/recommend to others.

by:
2011 Ford Taurus

Was absolutely 100% delighted with this product. Drove a total of 2600 miles in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions and these lights worked perfectly. Batteries lasted all most to the end of the trip. I'd recommend this set up to everyone who cannot afford to have wiring redone on a vintage trailer.

by:

I bought the wireless Hopkins tow lights to temporarily tow my new Jeep behind our Motorhome until I could wire the taillights permanently. I liked them so well that I have never wired the Jeep and only use the wireless taillights.

by:

very easy to see and use. I hope I never have to rewire another old trailer. Love them.

by:

Great customer service

by:

Great experience.Fast service.

by:

These have been a lifesaver for our camper lights not working properly. Never had an issue with these

by:
2010 Honda Element

I have not tried this yet, but the design is excellent! Having a magnet on the transmitter to attach to the tow vehicle was just icing on the cake!

by:

Great system

by:

Product appears to work as represented. Have not had it on the road yet.

Lights work great, and battery life is better than expected. Only issue is potential for paint damage... I recommend that the manufacturer consider a softer landing pad to reduce potential for paint scratches.

  • Recommended Tow Bar Wiring Solution for 2004 Honda CR-V
Generally speaking, your tow bar wiring is all going to have the same function- to provide signals to your vehicle lights. Some wiring differs in that it contains diodes to protect your vehicle's from electrical malfunction/backfeed and some of them have different connections to the RV. If your RV has a 7 way connection, then something like the Roadmaster # RM-15247 provides the best solution for protecting the vehicles from backfeed in the event of a short. If you've got a 4 way on the...

  • Will Optronics LED Magnetic Tow Lights Protect Against Scratching 2018 Ford Fiesta SE Paint?
The Optronics Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit - Weatherproof - Red Lens - 20' Wiring Harness - Qty 2 # TLL21RK has a protective label pad on the bottom to keep from scratching paint. You can see this at the 2 minute mark of the attached review video. I do recommend wiping down the vehicle with a microfiber cloth before putting the lights on simply to remove any dust or debris that could be abrasive between the scratch free label and the paint for added security.

The bulbs of the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120 are incandescent, they are not LED. A better option would be the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304. This kit uses LEDs and comes with a 4-way flat already. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Tail Light Wiring Harness for Flat Towing 2018 Ford Edge SEL
There is not a plug in wiring harness available for your tow bar wiring on your 2018 Ford Edge SEL. There is one for the Sport and Titanium, but not for the SEL or SE models. For your application, I recommend the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120. If you can't find a viable mounting location due to a glass roof, this kit will fit into your rear hatch to hold the lights in place. If you need the 4-way harness, I recommend the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs...

  • Will Magnetic Tow Lights Work through a Plastic Cover on a Steel Jeep Bumper
The magnets on the tow lights like # C6304 are strong but I am not sure if they will work well enough with a plastic cover over the metal bumper of your Jeep. What I recommend is to go wit ha different type of kit, like # EZT20B that you could hook to the Jeep somewhere and not worry about magnets. Of you could secure some tow light partners, # TLP01, to provide a metal surface for the magnetic lights.

  • Tow Bar Lighting Recommendation for a 2002 Saturn S-Series
A much easier solution that would give you a permanent flat tow lighting solution for your 2002 Saturn S Series would be to install a bulb and socket kit like part # RM-155. Basically with this kit you would install an additional bulb in the current taillight housing of your vehicle which the tow bar wiring will control. • Turn Signals are Dim with Brake Lights Applied on Magnetic Tow Lights
It doesn't sound like to me that there is anything wrong with the lights or wiring. The turn signal and brake light are both carried through the same dual filament bulb. The circuit associated with the brake light will generally be brighter than the circuit for the turn signal.
