Generally speaking, your tow bar wiring is all going to have the same function- to provide signals to your vehicle lights. Some wiring differs in that it contains diodes to protect your vehicle's from electrical malfunction/backfeed and some of them have different connections to the RV.

If your RV has a 7 way connection, then something like the Roadmaster # RM-15247 provides the best solution for protecting the vehicles from backfeed in the event of a short. If you've got a 4 way on the RV then your best bet is to go with something like the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304 which is easy to setup and won't require you to wire anything into the vehicle. You could also use the Roadmaster Hy Power Diode kit # RM-154 if you're wanting something wired into the tow vehicle.

I've linked some review videos of these parts as well as our helpful article on tow bar wiring for you to check out.
