Telescoping Ramp

Yakima OnRamp telescoping ramp

The OnRamp includes a telescoping, aluminum ramp so you can easily roll your e-bikes on and off the rack - no heavy lifting required. The ramp telescopes to ensure it touches the ground so you don't have to lift your bike at all. It can also be used to decrease the angle of approach to make loading even easier. It stores behind the bike trays, so you don't have to put it in your vehicle or risk misplacing it.

Padded Clamps with Ratchet Straps

Yakima OnRamp ratcheting hooks

Padded, rotating clamps grab your bikes by the frame or seat post to ensure safe transport with minimal movement and noise. They move up and down the center mast independently, so you can position them to fit bikes of any frame style.

Sliding Wheel Straps

Yakima OnRamp ratcheting hooks

The wheel trays have sliding ratcheting straps to secure your rear wheel to the rack. The straps slide along the tray to accommodate bikes with a variety of wheelbases. To secure your wheel, run the strap over the rim and back down through the strap buckle and pull tight. To remove your bike, press the quick-release button on the buckle and undo the strap.

Release Knob for Easy Tilting and Folding

Yakima OnRamp tilt awayHollywood racks tilt up

The rack tilts with bikes loaded for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. From behind the rack, pull the release knob at the base and tilt the rack down away from you. When you raise the rack back up, the pin will automatically re-insert and make an audible click to let you know it's secure.

Yakima OnRamp telescoping ramp

It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

Easy, Bolt-On Installation

Yakima OnRamp ratcheting hooks

To install the rack, simply slide the shank into your receiver and screw in the anti-rattle hitch pin. This threaded pin helps eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport.

Complete Security

Yakima OnRamp2 ratcheting hooksYakima lock

A cable lock is included to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. The thick, steel cable threads through your bike's frames, and locks back onto the hitch pin, preventing the pin from being removed from the hitch pin hole. The cable also has a soft rubber cover that won't scratch or scuff your bikes' paint.

We purchased this rack for our fifth wheel based on etrailer’s video and description that stated the rack’s load capacity was 66 pounds per bike. However, when we received the package, Yakima’s literature stated that the load capacity was only 40 pounds when installed on an RV. We called Dan at etrailer. He was very helpful in securing a return with a prepaid shipping label. Great customer service, just an unacceptable product for our needs.

by:

We love this rack. Both my wife and I use it all the time. I can mount and remove it in less than 5 minutes. I often transport 2 substantial ebikes. When we ride together, either of us is able to load and unload both of our bikes in less than 8 minutes. This is a solid rack and the price was definitely right. And when not in use it folds up neatly behind the bumper.

by:

We assembled it and attached it to the car but we haven't used it yet so it is bit early to rate it but it definitely well made and it should work just as we had planned.

by:

I have had the bike rack for a year now and have been 100% satisfied with it. I have a 50 lb. E-bike and have never had a problem carrying it. I like how easy the rack is to use, how the locking system works, and how sturdy it is. I highly recommend it.

I still love it. I have taken my e-bike half way across the country using the rack and never had to worry about it. Worked perfectly. I also use it to carry two bikes and it works great. Very strong. I really like not having to worry about my bike when I’m transporting it.

by:

I have a Jetta TDI that is close to 20 years old and needed a rack that would work with my car. While this works, the quality of paint is peeling off and will rust sooner than I would want. At first the bikes seemed pretty stable but over time there is more movement. Not sure if it is in the rack or in the hitch. Would of a larger hitch solved the problem? Even with swaying it seems secure though.

I recommend making sure that the hitch bolt is tightened per the torque specs mentioned in the manual.

by:

I'm really upset with the bike rack and Yakima's service! Less than 3 weeks after purchasing the Yakima OnRamp Bike Ramp which will hold two electric bikes, both parts that lock the straps which hold and steady the bikes to the bicycle's frame, BROKE! I purchased the rack April 13, 2022. I pleaded with etrailer Where I purchased the rack and Yakima numerous times throughout the cycling season to fix the rack or give me a new one. Today is Sept. 12, 2022. approximately 4 MONTHS after I first requested parts or a new rack and NOTHING has been done. Do NOT buy a rack from either Yakima or etrailer or you will have a $xxx rack collecting dust in your garage and miss most of the cycling season.

I am sorry to hear that your rack showed up in that condition. I see that we do have a customer service representative in contact with you.

by:

This was my 3rd or 4th order from etrailer. They answered my questions before ordering and it arrived within 2 days. The rack was easy to assemble and just as described. Now when we purchase electric bikes we will have a way to bring them home.

by:

The wheel holders are too narrow for my e-bike with 3.0 tires and required me to then spend more money to buy the fat tire straps that I was told wouldn’t be needed. Otherwise, a nice rack

by:

Everything about my order was great, th anks!

by:

I have a step through Aventon Level electric bike. The Yakima on Ramp Bike Rack holds my bike securely without the need to use additional securing devices like tie downs, to stop it from leaning or swaying. The loading ramp does exactly what it is supposed to do making it easy to load and unload cmy bike. The loading ramp stores nicely on the bike ramp. The release knob can be awkward to reach. I had to stand on one side of the bike rack to release the safety knob and then walk around to the other side to engage the release knob. Locking the bike can be somewhat difficult due to the placement of the lock relative to the hitch.

by:

It fits our new electric bikes perfectl y!!

by:

YOU HAVE LOTS TO OFFER! And a whole lot of videos to help a research geek like me find the right fit With so many different types bikes and car models out there I wonder how you keep it all straight. This is my second go around ordering from you. You have my car dialed in with what works with out a hitch (no pun intended) In fact you did have a hitch for my little Honda Fit! Now that I now have 2 electric bikes too heavy for my older bike rack the new rack works very well. Thanks ..Off to the hills.

by:

Easy to transfer between our Outback and truck. Securely holds ebike, road bike, or mountain bike. Ramp is convenient so no need to lift the heavy ebike.

by:

Nice product. Sturdy. Bikes often run off the "loading ramp" - could be wider but other than that, we like it

by:

A good looking, solid well engineered rack. Am not very mechanically gifted but was easily able to perform the few assembly steps right out of the box. Even wrenches needed for assembly included with the small amount of hardware. Highly recommend.

by:

It is a heavy bike and the ramp is so helpful and It fit into my uhaul hitch. It was shipped promptly and arrived in excellent condition and it even had a lock and key which was a nice surprise. It folds up nicely too

by:

Excellent rack. Decent price. Great customer service from etrailer.com. I have purchased several items from them. Outstanding company. Quick delivery.

by:

Have dealt with trailer for years, great company, fast shipping and wonderful products. Etrailer is a company you can trust!

by:

Have yet to open the box. Quite heavy. I hope this old man can get it on the hitch without damaging something down there. I will keep you informed. So far, excellent.

by:

Excellent rack.
Fits our CRV perfectly.

Easy on and off vehicle, great features and design.
E-Trailer hits "home run" again.

by:

As advertised. I am extremely amazed at how sturdy this bike rake is. Very happy with this purchase.

by:

Very good but I wish it fit inside a 2" receiver.

by:

Everything is great. You could make the ramp and wheel slots a little wider for E Bikes. Our E Bikes are not fat wheels but are tight on your normal slots.

by:

I haven’t had a chance to put the rack on the Rav-4 yet, but I couldn’t believe the delivery time on the rack! I ordered it on Friday evening the 14th, & by Saturday morning at 9:00 I was unloading off the UPS truck! You can’t ask for anything better! I’ll contact you after I put on the car this weekend! What a GREAT company you guys are to deal with!!!!

by:

Well made and sturdy like my kayak rack.

  • Will the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" Hitch Work with E-Bikes
The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack part # C18085 only has a 45 lb per bike weight capacity so it won't be good for e-bikes, even if only one e-bike is used as the per bike weight capacity is per cradle as that's all they are designed to handle. Therefore, it's time to upgrade to an e-bike rated rack for which I recommend the Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack for 2 Bikes part # SA4025F. This rack has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity which will handle most e-bikes and it's only 35 lbs so it's very...

  • Will Yakima OnRamp Fit 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon and Fold Up with Bumper Clearance
Yes it will fold up and clear the bumper and here's why: When the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y96FR that you referenced is folded up there's 5 inches from it's hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the folded rack. When we've installed hitches on 2015 Subaru Outbacks like yours with the Draw Tite # 76227 we found that there was a 2-1/2 inch distance between the pin hole and rear bumper edge so you'd have 2-1/2 inches of clearance.

I have a bike rack that will work for you, but the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches # SH12G will not work for your Himiway fat bike according to the information you provided. This bike rack can fit up to 3" wide tires, which will not fit your bike's 4" wide tires. Also, this bike rack only has a weight capacity of 40lbs per bike, which is likely less than the weight of your Himiway electric fat bike. I recommend going with Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes...

Even though your tires are just slightly larger at 3.3 inches than the 3.25" the OnRamp is designed to work with, I do recommend adding the Fat Tire Straps for Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y23FR. The issue is that tires that wide could mean there isn't enough room for the straps to fully latch, so even though you may be able to get them to work with the standard straps, it is a good idea to get the straps just to know for sure your bike is safe and secure.
