Video Transcript for etrailer.com Removable Trailer Jack Caster Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the removable, six inch caster for two and a quarter inch trailer jacks. Part number JC-102. This steal caster attaches to any two inch inner diameter jack, making it easy to maneuver your trailer. It attaches with a pin and clip, making it removable, so you can detach it during travel.Compared to plastic wheels . Well, you can see what happens to plastic wheels. It feature a clear, zinc finish, which is gonna make it corrosion resistant.

One thing to keep in mind is that has a capacity of 1,200 pounds, so if your jack's capacity is higher than that it will reduce it to 1,200 pounds. One of our customers Allen B. says, "I bought the wheel for the new jack I bought from etrailer, so I could pull it around the yard with a lawn tractor doing light yard work gathering cut limbs, et cetera. Not having to attach the truck to do yard work is great. And besides, the truck cannot go under the trees, whereas the lawn tractor can."As you can see, our old wheel's pretty messed up, so we're gonna be replacing it. Now, you want to support your trailer with your towed vehicle or a jack stand.

We can simply just raise it up just enough where we can remove it, take out the pink and clip . If you have any rust, now would be a good time to clean it off.The new wheel goes on as easily as the old one came off, it even includes a pin and clip. Simply line up the holes, put it in, and you're all set to go. That's gonna complete our look of the removable six inch caster for two and a quarter inch trailer jacks. Part number JC-102..

Bought this to pair with Item #322-RDJ-2K. It fits perfectly to the jack. The wheel first worked perfectly and made moving my utility trailer super easy. After about a year all the paint fell off and it is now a rusty wheel. Also, even after using grease it does not swivel well anymore. I don't think there are any ball bearings in it. That would keep it fluid.

by:

works great on my new jack

by:

Just got these today from E-tailer. They came right on time and the support staff; Emily W. was awesome.
I am using these on a hard to load front end snowplow so probably not what most people use them for, but it looks like the jacks will work great.
Thank you, E-tailer.

by:

Put this wheel on my utility trailer to make it easier to move trailer when not connected to truck. I can now move the trailer easily w/o straining my back and or using the truck. It is very easy to connect to the jack and when driving down the road with the trailer I always remove it to give me more clearance between the jack and the ground.

by:

Items look great. Problem is when I was looking for my Jack for dual seadoo trailer your website said it was older and no longer available but this was a replacement and would fit. The otter pole is larger than the original and I noticed that as soon as I compared to two so I unpacked it but did not even try to install it.

by:

Put this wheel on my 8' MiniGo cargo trailer. Bottom axel height - 8" clearance. Bottom frame height at level is 9.5" clearance. I like the wheel, but certainly won't tow with wheel attached (Audi Q7 tow vehicle). So will have to swap around skid plate (came with the trailer) and wheel when towing. Just something to think about.

by:

This caster is exactly what I was looking for. It fits perfect. Easily to order and easy to make sure it’s the right size. I will order again for any products that I need from etrailer.

Great

by:

I purchased the etrailer JC-102 to use a new Wells Cargo Tandem trailer that it came originally with a landing pad, which made it difficult to move around by hand rolling. This 2 1/4" Trailer Jack Removable Steel Castor Wheel is well constructed and a great value. I highly recommend this wheel assembly!

by:

The plastic wheel will not turn left or right on a smooth hard surface. I do not recommend it. There are better and cheaper ones available

by:

I bought the wheel for the new jack I bought from etrailer so I could pull it around the yard with the lawn tractor doing light yard work... gathering cut limbs etc. It works perfect for that. Not having to attach the truck to do yard work is great... and besides the truck cannot go under the trees whereas the lawn tractor can.
I also bought the foot for using the truck.

by:

Fits perfect, works great, very durable !!

by:

Perfect for my application and excellent product. The only issue I had was the original delivery date was not met and I ended up receiving it 3 days later.

by:

Perfect fit.

by:

Quality product as expected from etrail er

by:

Good stuff will be buying more accessories in future

by:

I put this on my dog trailer. Because this trailer gets pulled in the field and through ditches. It is the only jack I have found that allows me to do this. Not to mention the time saved hooking and unhooking the trailer by half the time screwing the jack up or down. It was a little tight at use and the spring pin was stubborn when finding the hole to snap in. But 5 minutes with a little bit bigger drill bit just to chamfer the pin holes and a dremel tool to knock a little weld slag down and it almost works automatically. Love it.

by:

Good enough for what I need it to do.

by:

Worked well to help with moving a utility trailer around on my side parking pad. One thing to note, the wheel is steel, welded together on the surface that rolls on the ground. This caused little lines in my concrete as I rolled it around. Other than that, it does what I wanted it to do.

by:

Kinda cheap quality. Was told by ETRAILER support that this was the only option wheel. Underwhelmed

by:

Very easy to install

by:

Bought this to replace a pad on the trailer jack. Went on in 5 minutes, no difficulties at all. The pin fit the original hole that the pad was bolted on to. The removable part is nice as the trailer is low and can scrape the ground at times. Quick and easy. The wheel is metal which I didn't expect but would think that it will make it durable and won't crack and break. Easy installation, easy on and off. Looks to be heavy duty enough to handle the load.

by:

Fits great. Rolls great

by:

Very happy with wheel assy! Was happy to find wheel is steel instead of rubber. Should last really well in all weather!

by:

Once again e-trailer comes through with just what I needed. I needed a steel wheel for my travel trailer because the plastic one's broke. This is real beefy, and quality seems great, It cost a couple dollars more than the cheapo ones, but seems worth it. The shipping was good and fast. And customer service is unbeatable. Thanks Again Jack

by:

Well made when I finally hook it up to my trailer I can give it a final evaluation

  • Replacement A-Frame Caster Wheel Jack for 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Based on my research your 1969 Aristocrat Lo-Liner has standard a-frame construction so you can use one of the top wind jacks shown on the linked page. I suggest the Bulldog 2K-rated jack # BD155033 along with either the caster wheel # JC-102 or the footplate # JF-99.

Thank you for the photo of your travel trailer a-frame tongue area showing its standard tongue jack mount. You can view our range of top-wind a-frame jacks on the linked page. A great option is the Bulldog 5K-rated jack # BD155032 which provides 15-inches of lift and that allows you to choose you preferred caster wheel or foot assembly, such as # JC-102 or # JF-99.

  • Replacement Topwind Swivel Jack with Caster Wheel for Small Utility Trailer
For your application I recommend going with the Bulldog Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack # BD151443 which installs with brackets on your trailer frame, and then you can use the 6" Caster # JC-102 to add a wheel to the jack. This gives you the style of jack you're looking for along with the wheel you need for your setup. The jack is rated for 2,000 lbs but the wheel is limited to 1,200 lbs so as long as you stay under the limiting factor of 1,200 lbs you'll be good to go.

  • Can Electric Jack be Submerged in Water
Electric jacks such as the Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX should not be submerged in the water; they are resistant to rain but not being completely immersed under water. Instead, you will want to go with a manual jack, such as the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K which has a 2,000 lb capacity and 27-1/2 inches of lift. It would require either Footplate # JF-101BK or Wheel # JC-102. If you need more capacity but less lift there is the Bulldog # TJA-5000-B which has a 5,000...

  • How Short Can the Drop Leg on the Ultimate Trailer Jack Be Made
The drop leg on the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K can be adjusted up in 2" increments, up to 12". So, theoretically using a 6" caster wheel like the # JC-102 you could get it down to as close as 8" from the ground. I can't completely picture the issue you're having in my head, but it sounds like this jack is exactly what you need since it can be pulled almost all the way up to the bottom of the trailer frame. I've linked a review video that shows how this works in greater detail...

  • Sidewind Bulldog Jack Recommendation That Can Accept a Caster Wheel or a Foot Plate
The Dutton-Lainson Trailer Jack # DL22688 that you referenced does not have a removable foot to allow you to install a caster so it would not be the ideal jack for you. I would recommend you get an etrailer Round Jack # TJA-5000S-B. You could get a footplate # JF-99 or a Caster Wheel # JC-102.

  • Replacement Option For Bulldog Trailer Jack 155033
There is not a shorter replacement handle for your Bulldog 155033, but you can still remedy the problem with a new jack that has a sidewind handle: - Round A-Frame Trailer Jack # TJA-2000S-B The # TJA-2000S-B is almost exactly the same as your 155033 but with a sidewind handle; it has a 2,000 lb capacity, 15" of travel, 24-1/4" extended height, and 9-1/4" retracted height. With it you can use either Caster Wheel # JC-102 or Footplate # JF-101BK.

If you want a different jack that will have a compatible wheel, I recommend the Round A-Frame Trailer Jack - Topwind - 14-1/4" Travel - 2,000 lbs # TJA-2000-B along with the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks - Steel Caster - 1,200 lbs # JC-102.

The wheel you described was for an Atwood jack and the replacement is no longer available. With this odd size jack, we don't have any compatible replacement, so I recommend replacing your jack. If you have a swivel jack, then I recommend the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Trailer Jack # FXPD15L. This dual wheel jack will work well for you.

  • Will Ultimate Trailer Jack Fit My Specific Trailer
All A-Frame mounted jacks like the Ultimate Trailer Jack, part # 322-RDJ-2K, use roughly the same 3-inch mounting hole bolt pattern. The mounting holes are also elongated to allow about 1/4 inch of extra mounting versatility. Simply put, A-Frame jacks have a universal mounting pattern so that any A-Frame jack will fit into any A-Frame jack mount. When it comes to finding the right jack for your trailer you'd want to choose one that is around 10-15% of your trailers weight.
