Video Transcript for Review of Reese Replacement Base Legs Reese Or Pro Series 15K 16K 20K 5th Wheel - RP30727

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com And today, we're gonna take a look at these Reese replacement base legs for fifth wheel trailer hitches. Now, this pair of replacement base legs are designed to be used with your Reese or Pro Series 15,000, 16,000 or 20,000 pound fifth wheel trailer hitches. And these wide-stance one-piece legs are going to give you excellent stability. And this features a nice black powder coat finish that's going to help resist rust and corrosion. And just to give you some overall measurements so you can be confident this is going to work for you, beginning with the overall height, when these are actually in the rails in your truck bed, this is going to be about 8 1/4 inches tall for the overall height. And then looking at the leg width, beginning here at the widest point, at the bottom, we are measuring right at about 4 5/16 inches wide.

And then it becomes more narrow here at the top, and so at the top, this measures that about three inches wide. Now overall, the overall length of these legs, and I'm measuring from center-to-center where this is going to connect here in your rails, this is sitting right at 22 inches long, center-to-center. So these legs are the replacement from Reese, they're directly from Reese, so you can have the confidence that this is going to work with your Reese or Pro Series 15,000, 16,000, or 20,000 pound fifth wheel trailer hitches. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today, I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy.

Thank you for joining me.

I havent used it yet. But it will be great. I bought those uprights for a flag stand being made for my 5th wheel rails to fly 5 flags at a time. Its at the Fabricators shop.

My shipment was received exactly as ordered. I installed the replacement legs last night and they fit perfectly. Easy installation to replace my slider mounts. There was a small problem with the information I provided in the billing area but I was contacted immediately by customer service and the problem was corrected with no delays in by order. My contact with etrailer.com customer service was very pleasant and could not have been more helpful. Thank you etrailer.com customer service for great response and preventing any delays.

This product has been great! It has provided me with a quiet and stable ride with these brackets. I recommended the brackets to my close friend and he purchased the identical ones from etrailer and is totally pleased. Thanks again etrailer for the quality product and great service. Jim

This is actually a good review, product is great , customer service was great also, and went above and beyond to help. But their supplier on hardware was very lacking. Mounting kit incomplete and wrong hardware. But etrailer did everything they could to make it right.

by:

Thank you for quick service

by:

Originally I had the slider system for my short bed. I kept getting a lot of back and forth movement in my hitch. I changed my kingpin to a sindwinder and put these on my hitch and basically removed all of the movement.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Fit perfect.

First time ordering through etrailer. Knowledgeable staff, products arrived as described and on-time. Was unable to locate one item needed for the project on there website my rep made a recommendation which I agreed too but expected I would be sending it back. When it arrived it was spot on and I was able to complete the project that day. Overall great service, will order from them again.

by:

Not much to say about first wheel hitch legs, they fit, they work.

etrailer got them to me 3 days after I ordered them. THAT is worth noting!

by:

I switched from my Reese slider to a fixed mount. Of course they do their job, but it also freed up space in the bed.

by:

I’m very pleased with the help, advice, and product I received from etrailer. They make sure you get the right part and follow up with notices to let you know when the part is arriving. Their customer service is excellent.

  • Troubleshooting Reese Stationary 5th Wheel Legs Not Fitting In-Bed Rails
To convert your Reese Round Tube Slider Legs RP50024 to stationary legs you need part # RP30727. These are designed to fit the same industry standard rail dimensions (see attached photo) so if they aren't fitting it would be worth inspecting the legs for any sort of damage. Are the legs quite a bit short or are the tabs bent some? These are the things you want to check. If you can shoot me a photo showing how they aren't fitting I'd be more than happy to help you look into this further!

  • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD Crew Cab
Thanks for providing a picture of your base rails in your 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD. Based on your measurements of 10-inches and 20-1/2 inches hole to hole and 22-inches on the width, it looks like you have industry standard rails. These rails work with Curt, Valley, Draw-Tite, Hidden-Hitch and Reese base rails. I called our contact at Reese and they mentioned the 14,000 pound hitch would require needing 22-inches on center for spacing. This could be the reason why your friends 14,000...

  • Can Pro Series 15k Slider Hitch be Used with Sidewinder Pin Box
You can use a Sidewinder pin box with a slider hitch but you'll just have to leave the slider hitch slid forward at all times. Ideally you run a stationary hitch as it's less moving parts to create noise and less weight, but a slider hitch can still be used. If you wanted to convert your hitch to a fixed hitch you'd just have to swap to the legs part # RP30727 and you'd be set. The wedge kit you'd then need is the part # 30850 which will give you the best fit between the hitch and the...

  • Lower Hitch Height That Fits 2015 Ford F-250 OEM Rail Kit
Going from a slider base to a fixed leg base for your fifth wheel hitch won't give you a noticeable reduction in height to the point your trailer would no longer be quite nose high. Also there isn't a way to convert your current hitch to fit to the OEM rail kit directly to reduce height either. A hitch solution that would sit lower is the Curt A25 part # C16036 which has an adjustable height of 13-17 inches and has a really great jaw design.

  • Making a Fifth Wheel Slider Hitch into a Non-Slider on an 8 foot Truck Bed
With an 8 foot bed, there really is no benefit to having a slider hitch, unless the hitch is improperly installed. You can either leave everything as is and not use the slider, or you can purchase the legs to switch it out. The Replacement Fifth Wheel Legs for Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch and Reese are part number 30727.

For your 2015 Ram 1500 with the short 5-1/2 foot bed, the ProSeries 16K slider as you stated will not allow the turning clearance you need. I recommend using a Sidewinder pin box and a fixed hitch for your application. So I recommend starting with using your 16K hitch on the Replacement Base Legs for Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30727 which are a confirmed fit. Then use the Sidewinder Wedge Kit for Pro Series 16K # 30850. Your pin box looks like a 1621, and if that is what is printed...

  • Can Reese 5th Wheel Hitch Legs be Installed In Place of a Slider Base
You might be able to swap the slider base for regular legs on your hitch but I would need to know which hitch you have, what it is rated for, and its approximate age. Depending on the hitch you have, you may need a different cross member too, # RP58147. You mentioned a narrow stance which makes me think you have an older hitch that has mounting feet that are 10 inches apart on center. The cross member and legs are made to fit in the slots that are 20-1/2 inches apart on center.
