Torx driver with 1/4" hex drive makes installing Torx head screws simple.

by:

I used this bit to screw down around a hundred decking screws on a flat bed trailer. The bit has held up fine through this and a few subsequent "adjustments" for these and similar screws.

by:

These torx head screwdriver bits are outstanding. I have found most driver bits don't last very long, so I ordered 2 and hoping they would last long enough to re-deck my 8 x 16 flatbed trailer. I pre-drilled the treated 2 x 8's and drilled pilot holes in the 3/16 cross members before installing the 2 1/2 " torx trailer screws for treated wood. I used my 1/2 " angle head drill and used 170 screws to attach the decking material. I only used ONE of the bits and it still looks like new. I highly recommend both the screws and the bits.

I did get the normal shrinkage with the pressure treated lumber, but no warping, cupping, or splitting.

Great, couldnt be happier.

Used driver and screws to re-deck my flat bed trailer with pressure treated 2x6s. They both worked great and trailer looks great. Tip: install 2x6s tight with each other as they shrink after installation.

Everything I bought for this company did a great job, the TX430-1 bit, the titanium
.drill bit and the Trox Trailer floor screws. All work GREAT. I would recommand
these products.
Fast shipping
Made my utility trailer floor look like it was done by a pro.

by:

As always, etrailer.com has everything I need for repairing my 4 trailers and keeping them in working order. The prices are great and the shipping is pretty quick. Great customer support when I have questions about a item. This is my go to site for trailer parts.

by:

I needed to replace the floorboards on my utility trailer and did not have a local source for the torx head screws to replace the old ones. A quick search of the internet led me to etrailer and another online retailer. I quickly realized the the plated screws from etrailer were what I needed and I could buy the exact number I needed. They also had the torx bits and drill bits. They were shipped the same day I sent my order in and their follow up was quick and thorough. Mine was a small order and I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

by:

Worked great on my trailer deck board screws and never stripped the bit. Good stuff!

by:

The restoration project is still not complete. We were pleased with the quality of the products we purchased from etrailer and look forward to putting them to the test as this project comes to a close.

by:

The torx screws and bits get five stars each. They worked as advertised. I would buy them again for any other trailer work.

Thanks for having good products that do their duty without complaint or failure.

by:

The item was a hard to find item in a store but etrailer made it easy. The flooring fasteners were perfect and made the job of refurbishing my trailer a complete success. Thanks guys!

by:

by:

Great Bit. I ordered 1 to replace the wooden deck on my trailer. It held up to install all of the screws needed and is still in perfect shape. This is a Quality Item.

by:

Worked as advertised! I followed the recommendations of others and used some lubricant after drilling through the wood, before drilling into the metal - no problems. To be safe I also ordered the bit to ensure a good fit.

  • Recommended Trailer Floor Screws for Attaching 1 Inch Decking Boards to 3/16 Inch Steel Angle Iron
As long as you have a pilot hole the screw threads will be strong enough to withstand threading through the angle iron. You should be fine with the 1-1/2 inch screws like # TFX150ACQ you were looking at. For your setup the 1-1/2 will be sufficiant but you can also go with the longer 2-1/4 inch screws # TFX250ACQ. Both of these will work but you will just have more screw poking through on the other end with the longer ones. Since you are attaching treated wood to your trailer, I recommend...

  • Wood Screws to Use with White Oak Boards
Torx screw # TFX250ACQ is an excellent option for treated wood. If the white oak you have is ACQ treated lumber then this would be the ideal screw. Otherwise I would go with stainless steel hardware which does cost more but in terms of corrosion resistance there's nothing better than stainless! We have a stainless screw, # 1172904, that will work with wood but it is only a 1/2 inch long. If you go with the Torx screws and need a bit use # TX430-1. In either case when you use screws in...

  • Impact Wrench Not Necessary To Install Torx Floor Screws
To install Torx screws like # TFX250ACQ when replacing floor boards, you don't need any special tools except the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit # TX430-1. This can be used in a screwdriver, but I choose to use it in a corded or cordless drill.

  • What Drill Bit Should be Used for the 2-1/2 Long Torx Screw # TFX250ACQ
I would go ahead and use the same holes that are already on your trailer. just make sure that they are the 7/32" diameter needed for the 2-1/2" Long Torx Screw # TFX250ACQ and that they have a good grip. If the screws don't seem to hold very well then you'll want to go with different locations or larger screws. When it comes to what type of drill bit we don't really have a recommendation. Since every application is different it is really up to the customer's discretion. The Torx Head...

  • Pilot Hole Size Needed For Torx Floor Screws
You are correct. The pilot hole size for the Torx Floor Screws, part # TF01250, is 7/32 inch. These come with 40 screws in the package, and measure 2-1/2 inches long. The screwdriver bit you may want for the Torx screws is part # TX430-1. These are sold individually.

  • Removing Seized Hardware in a Semi Trailer Floor
We do not have that particular size bit but I can tell you that you will likely need to spray some penetrating oil on the old hardware and let it soak for at least 15 minutes. This will help to break up the seized hardware. If you still have trouble after that then the only other option would be to drill out the hardware.

  • Fasteners for Attaching Marine Plywood Decking to Snowmobile Trailer
Thank you for the photo of one of the original decking fasteners from your aluminum snowmobile trailer. It appears your fastener has a taper at the point; but then again this might be erosion from exposure to winter road salts. We do offer several lengths of Torx fasteners, including some specifically for ACQ-Treated wood, ranging from 1-inch (part # WLS100), 1-1/2-inch (# TF01150 that you referenced) to 2-1/4- and 2-1/2-inch lengths. The key for your proper replacement size is the depth...

  • Is a Pilot Hole Required to Install Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 and What Size Should it Be
Since the Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 are not self-tapping you will need to drill a small pilot hole first before putting in a screw. The screws are 1/4 inch in diameter and it is recommended to drill a 7/32 inch pilot hole. If you do not already have a T30 bit you will need one for these screws # TX430-1.

  • How are the Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screws Measured
The 1" Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screw part # WLS100 is measured from the head to the tip, so it is 1" long from the highest point to the lowest point. It uses a T25 bit like part # TX425. We do have the Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screws available in 1-1/2" long part # TFX150, 2-1/4" long part # TFX225, and 2-1/2" long part # TFX250 but these use a T30 bit like part # TX430-1.

  • Torx Trailer Floor Screw Recommendation that is 2-1/2 inch Diameter
We have the 2-1/2" Long Torx Screw # TF01250 which is 2-1/2 inch long and has a bit of a tap built into the head of the screw but would need to have a small pilot hole drilled to work the best. This is 1/4 inch diameter and we do not have a 5/16 inch diameter option. For a Torx bit we have the part # TX430-1 too.

You can use the TRX 30 Bit # TX430-1 for the 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood # TFX250ACQ. You should also be able to acquire a bit this size at your local hardware or home improvement store.

We do offer the 2-1/2" Long Torx Floor Screws in a Package of 40 # TF01250 which are the same height and diameter. Both these require a 7/32" Drill Bit for the pilot hole and a T30 Torx Bit # TX430-1

  • Recommended Torx Trailer Floor And Wall Screws For Treated Lumber On Ford F-550 Flatbed Truck
Since you are using treated lumber for your flatbed truck bed I recommend using the Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood, part # TFX250ACQ. since these are designed for treated lumber, they will perform and last better than the TFX250 screws. These screws are made with a plating material that is less expensive than stainless steel. You do need to drill a 7/32 inch pilot hole when installing these screws. We also offer the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit, part # TX430-1.

We do offer deck screws which can be ordered in bulk, you'll first however need to know what size you need. The Torx Floor Screws for example are 1/4" diameter and offered in a few different lengths; part # TF01150 for 1-1/2" long, part # TF01225 for 2-1/4" long, or part # TF01250 for 2-1/2" long. These are sold in packs of 40. You'll need the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit part # TX430-1 for these screws.

  • Torx Floor Screws Longer Than 1-1/2 Inches
There really isn't anything we can offer other than using screws longer than the 1-1/2 inch Torx Floor Screws # TF01150 since that particular length isn't catching. Depending the added length you need you can get the same screws, but either 2-1/4 or 2-1/2 inches long: - 2-1/4 Inches Long: Torx Floor Screws # TF01225 - 2-1/2 Inches Long: Torx Floor Screws # TF01250 Both will work with the Torx Head Screwdriver Bit # TX430-1.

The Torx Head Screwdriver Bit, part # TX430-1 is designed to work well with the Floor Screws, part # TF01225. These items will work great together. We do not offer a 7/32 inch drill bit. Those can easily be found at any local hardware store.

The 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw for ACQ Treated Wood part # TFX250ACQ are sold individually. The cost is a reflection of the compatibility with Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ) treated wood. If you just have standard treated wood you can use the 2-1/2" Long Standard Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw part # TFX250. Don't forget the torx bit, part # TX430-1.

  • What Tool Is Needed to Remove Screws from Flush Mount Rails on a 2018 Honda Pilot
It looks like you will need a Torx Head screwdriver that looks like bits # TX425 or # TX430-1 but I am not sure what size. Once you remove the screws you can then install a roof rack on your 2018 Honda Pilot. If you don't already have a roof rack I highly recommend the Thule WingBar Evo roof rack. This includes 53" bars # TH711420 for black or # TH711400 for silver, along with the Podium Foot Pack # TH460R, and the Fit Kit # THKIT3132. This is a great roof rack that helps reduce wind noise...

The 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw # TFX250ACQ is designed for use on ACQ treated wood that is normally very corrosive to metal fasteners. Even if you don't have ACQ treated wood these screws should work great. Any drill should work fine, the correct bit to use would be the part # TX430-1.

  • How Many Screws to Should be Used for Re-Decking Trailer
When securing things down I tend to think "the more the merrier" so I personally would probably put at least 2 of the 2-1/4" Long Standard Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw # TFX225 per board per crossbeam especially if the plan is to use the trailer frequently and for large loads. The choice is ultimately up to you though to be honest. This screw actually comes in a 40-pack as well with part # TF01225 so since you're doing a whole re-decking project I'd buy in bulk. These are Torx screws so you would need the part # TX430-1 as a drill bit for installation.
