Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Components - Trailer Jack,Camper Jack - LC141893

Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Lippert components Tucson high speed, fifth wheel RV landing gear motor. Now, this is going to upgrade your existing system with the electric motor, so that you can get your landing gear deployed quickly and easily and get on to enjoying your camping trip. Now, Lippert components power landing gear is going to be pretty much standard on most fifth wheels, that are produced today. So, this is going to allow you to extend that landing gear and retract it as well. It comes pre-assembled, so it's really not too hard to install, you'll just have your bolts that go on top of your landing gear. Now, this is just the motor by itself. It doesn't come with any other equipment or hardware for it.

So, if you need any other components, you will have to pick those up separately. We'll have our two leads there, for power and ground, so you will also have to connect those into your wiring on your RV.The motor does have a 7140 rpm rating and a 5000 pound capacity. This is for use on the LCI power landing gear assemblies and this product is also made in the USA. As far as the dimensions with this, overall going from the top of that cylinder down to the end of the motor there, it's going to be about 8 and 1/2 inches. Going to the end of our bolts, it's going to be more like 9 and 1/4.

As far as our width, it will be at about 4 inches and depth overall is going to be about 3 and 1/2. And, that's going to do it for our look at the Lippert components Tucson high speed, fifth wheel RV landing gear motor.

This works fine but not much faster than the original. If I was to do it again I would purchase the heavy duty motor rather than the fast one because I believe the strain of weight slows it down and there would be less strain on the heavy duty motor

It was no faster than the original and not worth the money to me I ended up replacing the entire landing system with a dual motor individual controlled landing gear set up

by:

I have a 2011 Heatland Graystone (29mk model). It has aways strained to lift the front off my truck and more times than not, it would blow the 30amp fuse (which is in a difficult place to replace). I got smarter and replaced the fuse with an auto reset type fuse. But putting that much strain on the motor causes it to ware out.
After reading a couple articles mostly on etrailer I decided to go to a dual motor set up. I measured the length of the leg and called in my plan to your support team. I matched my existing motor so the speed of both motors is the same. The mechanical process was pretty easy, pull the old following leg and put in the new lead leg and connect the gear box and motor. Electrical is easy too, and I cheated for one switch by cutting the wires off my old switch and spliced the new switch in. (NOTE, mark the black leads before cutting them off, so you know which one is for ground and which one is for motor).
Because my motor arrived with a one lead slightly damaged, and because the motor didn't come with mounting screws, and no instructions on anything, I dropped the rating to 4 starts vs. 5 stars. Even the link you sent with additional instructions didn't have any. Also the switch wiring to the motor had to be reversed in order to have the extend button make the leg extend, and retract do the same. (ie red lead to black lead on the motor, etc)

by:

It works but really isn't that much faster than the "slower" OEM was.

by:

Exact match to OEM! Great support from Brittany all the way thru the project...

by:

Great product, on time delivery. Works great, would recommend. Amy is great person to work with.

by:

My fifth wheel had an old Atwood leg assembly, so I wasn't able to find a replacement for the original part, Atwood #71113. I did find some suggestions on here that this motor would work as a plug-and-play replacement. Happy to report that is exactly what this was plug and play. Just had to twist the gear slightly so it lined up with the new motor, fit the new part on, screwed it in and hooked up the wires. Took me about five minutes all told.

One weird note, it did reverse the directions from the original Atwood switch. So pressing "extend" now retracts, and vice versa. The switch was put in pretty tight so I just used tape to relabel the buttons.

Still going strong.

by:

I received the Lippert high speed motor in 3 days. It was an exact fit upgrade from the original motor on my Cedar Creek fifth wheel landing gear. The high speed motor is quieter and considerably faster than the slow grinding original. Thank you etrailer.

One year later and my Lippert high speed motor has been a great improvement for my landing gear.

by:

Haven't installed the motor yet, but the service and delivery were excellent.

by:

This motor was a perfect upgrade for my LC142178 motor. Easy to install and landing gear moves noticeably faster. It does put more strain on the batteries than the slower motor, so make sure you are fully charged.
The only issues I had we're that one of the mounting bolts was bent and (as mentioned in other reviews) the wiring is backwards from the factory installed motor. You either need to reverse the wiring hookup or use the switch in the opposite direction of what you want.

by:

It is faster than the standard motor. Installed fairly easy on our Jayco.
Seems quieter than the removed motor.

by:

Works well so far! Spent a bit more for this motor due "back order" status on a different model #. Hopefully this one lasts! It's a replacement one I purchased and installed from a local trailer parts house a couple of years ago.

by:

Although this is presented as a direct replacement for an Atwood/Lippert MPD 71119 motor. It’s Isn’t.
You’ll need to trim the mounts to 3/8 inch. Works fine though.
But, since you can’t find the MPD 71119 anymore, I think this is your only recourse.

by:

etrailer has the best customer service. This motor was an exact replacement of the one on my camper. Delivery was quick.

by:

Motor is super quiet and still going strong 1 year later.

by:

it works great. may want to chance other one. later.

  • Recommended Replacement Landing Gear Motor for Venture M-9000
From what I have found, your old motor was the M-9000 motor gearbox used on the LGS-9000 landing gear. The Lippert Components Tuson High Speed 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC141893 has the same dimensions and will work as a replacement. This motor has a speed of 7,140 rpm which will get you closer to the 9,000 rpm you were looking for. It has a 5,000 lb capacity. I have attached a video review for your reference.

  • Troubleshooting Lippert Landing Gear Motor 1-065-041012-01 Blowing Fuse Under Load
I reached out to my contact at Lippert and since your landing gear motor is blowing a fuse as soon as it sees load he mentioned the issue is more than likely that the motor is not getting the correct voltage, with the less common cause being the landing gear is underrated for your trailer. I recommend using a multimeter like # PT89ZR to test the voltage at the motor while the motor is operating. You will need to make sure you are running solely off battery power and are not getting power...

  • Replacement Motor for Lippert Model 1-065-041012-01 Landing Gear
The correct replacement for your 1-065-041012-01 motor is part # LC141893 from Lippert. Your original motor had a 7140 rpm speed. The Stromberg-Carlson # LG-196308 you specified has a 5430 rpm output, so it wouldn't be a good choice. You'll want the replacement motor to match the output of the original. I've linked you to a product description video for the replacement motor.

Given the model numbers you provided the Replacement Aluminum Gearbox for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-179015 would be the correct replacement landing gear box. A gear box such as the Aluminum Gearbox for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear part # LG-179015 will not have an RPM rating nor will the output of the motor be tested here. The gear box will instead have a reduction ratio which for this unit is 3:1, which is the same that you mentioned. The Lippert Components Tuson High Speed...

  • Option to Replace Atwood 71119 Landing Gear Motor
The best option to replace your Atwood 71119 landing gear motor is the Lippert Components Tuson High Speed 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC141893. Note that you'll have to trim the legs slightly to make it fit, but this is the best option since that motor doesn't exist anymore. Otherwise, you could always replace the entire set if you'd like with the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-1.

  • Stronger/Faster 5th-Wheel Trailer Motor Recommendation to Replace Lippert Venture Landing Gear
If you are looking for a higher-speed 5th wheel trailer motor, I recommend the Lippert Components Tuson High Speed 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC141893 for your 2011 XLR lite 300L10. The Tuson has a 7,140 RPM rating compared to the Lippert Venture 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC142178. • Replacement Motor and Gear Box For 2003 Keystone Hornet 5th Wheel Trailer
The best way to tell if it is a motor issue or a gear box is to use the manual crank. If it is the motor, the landing gear will function perfectly with the manual crank. If it is the gear box, then you will have a very similar issue with the clicking. If it is the motor, I recommend the High Speed Motor # LC141893. Thanks for all that good info, and what you have is the Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set # UF17-943010, which you can replace with a Lippert set with a high speed motor on you RV, though you will need to have new brackets welded on. The issue is that the Ultra-Fab has an uncommon 20-1/4 inch space between the mounting brackets, while Lippert and most others have landing gear with the standard 17-1/2 inches. It does sound like you have isolated the issue indirectly. If you can move everything manually without issue, then the screws in the legs are fine. The gearbox works fine under manual load, so gears are fine, and motor seems to work fine, so the issue most likely isn't your landing gear. The issue could be a weak battery. Yes, the the Lippert Components Tuson High Speed 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC141893 will absolutely work to replace the Atwood 71113 motor on your fifth wheel. Motors are very much interchangeable so the fact that one was on a camper and yours is on a fifth wheel isn't going to factor into if it will work or not so you're good to go!
