It’s been one year (1/4/23) since I purchased and installed these products on my 1994 Airstream Trailer. The complete kit was more than adequate for my job given that the trailer had a few other areas requiring attention or needing the self-leveling sealer. I waited for the ideal conditions (weather, temperature, and time of day) before applying the parts and sealing a few other external components. We’ve had several rain events and temperature swings and these products have held up very well. The trailer serves more as an office now which increases the importance for not having leaks!

This was a great choice to select these projects and particularly, from this vendor. They were very responsive and quick to get the order out.

Thanks to George and his Team!
Happy New Year 2024

I bought this kit to make my roof vent install water tight. The butyl tape and self leveling sealant were exactly what was needed. The kit comes with two sets of screws (which weren’t included with the roof vent), however I didn’t use them as one set was slotted (flathead vice Phillips) and the other (better) were hex head/slotted. I prefer Robertson (square drive) screws and that is what is stock on this trailer so that’s what I used. I would have given 5 stars if the screws that came with the kit were better quality (i.e. weren’t slotted). Regardless, there is no doubt it is water tight. Good kit.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Replaced roof vent on my 1964 Shasta and the self leveling sealant worked just as described. I applied it when temperatures were in the 50s and nights got down to the 30s so it took a couple days to dry. I’ve had no issues at all.

by:

The screen that snaps into place does not stay attached very well. Upon further investigation one of the plastic snaps was broken, but it was to late to return it as I had already mounted the unit on the trailer. However the kit was great. My trailer will now seal correctly. Thank you.

by:

The items arrived unscathed and in good shape. Waiting for the weather to warm a little to make the install. I removed the old vent and it matches the dimensions of this unit, so the install should be easy. Metal lid should last a lot longer than the plastic ones.

by:

I gave this order 3 stars because whoever shipped this order put the vent and the installation kit in the same box. The roll of tape was damaged, but I think everything else look okay. I have read other reviews saying the same things I encountered happening and somebody is not paying attention to these reviews. Also the plastic piece of the vent should of been packaged better as they were laid in there to flop around. I am surprised that nothing else was damageed. etrailer is better than this I would think.

We always take reviews about the packaging seriously. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Everything was perfect! Very efficient service! Im vey pleased with the quality of what I ordered. I would most definitely order again from trailer. Thank you again for the fast delivery.

by:

Used to seal the replacement roof vent (old one was damaged from tornado). Followed instructions. Took our time and installation went well in 73 Deg weather. After a year, sealant is still good. (Trailer is stored under open sided shelter).

by:

What I'd like to know is how ETrailer got my Roof Vent stuff to me so quickly. Not only that, but I get a note right after I ordered referencing a prior order (for the same thing...different trailer) and I'm saying to myself, "These folks take customer service to another level." Everything ordered was in the box and delivered intact.

by:

Terrible packaging. The shipper thru everything on top of the Vent damaging the screen.

It does look a bit rough around the edges. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to make sure that the kit was not damaged.

by:

I watched some videos before doing this so I was ready. The job was straightforward and materials provided worked exactly as advertised. The sealant in particular flowed right where I expected it to. Good job on this folks.

by:

This kit comes with with enough for four root vents. One installed one vent but saving the rest for next time.

by:

the sealants were damaged the tape was fine, so I had to go to a hardware store to purchase two sealants luckily they sold same brand. But this is not etrailers fault I blame the transportation of it. I am more than pleased with etrailer and all the products we have purchased from you. your customer service is amazing! the knowledge of the staff is far beyond any other company.

Oh no! Lets get you over to our customer service department for them to get you some type of reimbursement.

by:

Thanks for getting here quickly will install when we have a few days of no reason.

by:

Fan as described. Installed with help of on line customer videos. Works well. Butyl tape arrived nearly folded in half but it worked ok.

by:

The roll of butyl tape I received was twisted and bent. I had enough to complete my job but had to throw about half of it away. I'm not sure on the sealant. After 7 hours it is still very, very, soft. (I don't know if that is normal). The mounting screws have slotted heads. Be much better if they were phillips-I ended up replacing the slotted screws with phillips.

I am sorry that the butyl tape arrived like that. I will have Customer Service reach out to you. The sealant should cure in an hour however if it is still soft then wait 24 hours if you plan to paint it.

by:

This kit is mostly complete. The only thing missing is a guy to get up on the roof of my camper who can use a heat gun to soften all of the old sealant and yank out the old vent. Seriously, the kit has everything I’ll need to install the new vent.

by:

Worked great!

by:

Easy to work with and a quality product.

by:

It was easy to install and 1 year later, still no leaks.

by:

Arrived in timely manner, included the stated items more than enough type and sealant to install one roof vent.

by:

Etrailer had excellent customer service !!

by:

everything needed for job was shipped together. fan workd grear!!!

  • Roof Vent Needed for 1982 JayFlight Camper Measuring 8-7/8 Square
It looks like your older JayFlight camper used a different vent size than what is typical for vents. We have some options that are 8" x 13-1/2" so you only have to cut out one way, but if you are willing to modify your roof I recommend just going ahead and getting a 14" x 14" roof vent as that is a very common size. If you are willing to do this then you can use the Ventline Ventadome # V2092SP-28 that you referenced. To finish the installation you will need the Installation Kit # 344270KITW...

  • Replacement Trailer Roof Vent Cover with a 4-Point Hinge
Most likely we have what you are looking for but you will need to first determine what vent style you have on your trailer. In order to determine the correct roof vent, measure where the vent opens. The standard trailer roof vent opening is roughly 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" and have roof vents that measure 14" x 14". To pick the correct cover, you will also need to know the type of hinge you need. There is a 3 point hinge, such as the one on the Camco # CAM40153; a 4 point hinge as seen on...

  • Sealant for Ventline Ventadome Model V2094
I recommend the Installation kit # 344270KITW. This kit includes the sealant that goes between the fan and the roof and Butyl tape. Also, all the screws needed to install any Ventline roof vent designed for a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" rough opening size are included. This kit is for use with metal or coated metal roof and wood (or similar material) ceiling. I have a video attached to show you how the sealant is applied between the vent and the roof.

I have a complete replacement roof vent option for you, but there is not a metal version of the Replacement Dome for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - White - Wedge Shape - Plastic # BVD0449-A01. To use a metal lid you will need to replace your roof vent with the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" - Metal # V2110SP-24 which is the only roof vent with a metal lid that we currently offer. • Can Maxxair RV Roof Vent/ Fans MA00-03700 Be Mounted on a Wall
The MaxxAir # MA00-03700 roof vent/fan you mentioned can indeed be mounted to a wall instead of the ceiling/roof. This being said, the wall will either need to be at least 1 inch thick, or you'll need to add some furring around the rough opening to make the wall thickness at least 1 inch. Being mounted on the vertical could make the vent assembly more prone to water intrusion, so you'll want to do a good job sealing the flange of the vent to the side or the trailer. A vent install kit...

You are right that the # MA00-06200K and the # MA00-07500K are very similar vent fans as far as most of the internal components. The main difference is that the 7500K uses a remote and has a powered lift. The 6200K is manual control and manual lift. Other than those features they are effectively the same. All trailer roof vents nowadays fit what is referred to as a standard roof vent opening, which is described as "roughly" 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" so the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 might be able to squeeze into a 14" x 14" opening but in reality it is pretty situational as most openings aren't exactly 14" x 14" or 14-1/4" by 14-1/4" because of the minute nature of the measurement.
