Had to send the first kit back because the flares were mostly junk. Second kit was much better. We used most of it, but the screws broke so we got others from Lowes. The clamps were plastic which I didn't care for so I got plastic coated metal ones from NAPA. The hoses and fittings were decent. And some of the fittings were not readily available. So all in all, I'd buy it again.

Still would buy again, but no availability for replacement parts is a bit frustrating. Have to go to Amazon for those.

This has plenty of extra tubing for my 30 foot triple axle trailer. I cut off the excess on all the lines and had the ends re flared. The brass and copper may have some corrosion issues if not managed when attaching to galvanized metal.

Installation was without issue and they are working like a champ!

  • Disc Brake and Actuator Kit Recommendation for 2016 Grand Design Momentum 397th
Your trailer has 7k Lippert axles on it so the disc brake kit you would need is the three sets of # K2HR712D for the disc/rotor and caliper kits. This won't be super cheap but it will give you the best option for converting to disc. For an electric over hydraulic actuator kit you then would want the part # HS381-9067 which will give you everything needed except for brake lines. For that you then would want the part # HS496-253.

  • Converting 2016 Diamond C 10k Axle Trailer and Iron Panther 7K Axle Trailer to Disc Brakes
The D100G axles on your 2016 Diamond C trailer are 10,000 lb axles. Based on the manufacture date you need the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000-lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E which fits the # 008-430-03 hub made after May 2013. If you need hydraulic brake lines I recommend the Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-252 or # HS496-253. I'm not sure if you have tandem or triple axles so I gave you the option for both. While we do not have a specific kit for your triple axle toy hauler with the 5,080lb axles we do have all the parts you will need. You will need to verify the bearing and grease seal sizes used on your axle to ensure I have all the correct parts listed below. You should have a grease seal with ID of 2.25", inner bearing ID of 1.75" and outer bearing ID of 1.25". Please let me know if you have something different otherwise here is a list of all the parts you will need. Kodiak Disc Brakes...

  • Does HydraStar Disc Brake Kit With Actuator for Triple Axle Trailer Have Option for 7K Oil Hubs
We do have a way for you to use the HydraStar electric-over-hydraulic actuator for disc brakes with 7,000 lb oil hubs, but there is not a direct option for an entire kit that uses oil hubs; it is necessary to use grease with the hubs on the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers # HSE7K-TR1. Instead, you would need to piece together three disc brake kits (one for each axle) that fit the same spindle as the HydraStar hubs, along with the actuator and brake lines....

  • Converting Three 7,000 Pound Dexter Axles to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
I can certainly help you out with a disc brake set up on your trailer. The first thing we need to find out in order to select the correct parts would be the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the sides of the bearings in the hubs you have now. With that information I can ensure that we get you the right parts. I would also need to know the bolt pattern of the wheels and what kind of braking system the trailer currently has. Also, do all 3 of the axles have brake mounting flanges?...

  • Recommendation on Switching Vacuum Over Hydraulic Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Since the braking power is still hydraulic, you should have no issues converting from a vacuum over hydraulic system to an electric over hydraulic (EOH) system. The electric over hydraulic actuator will take the place of the vacuum that pressurized the existing brakes. Now, since you have disc brakes already installed on your trailer, I recommend the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi, # HBA16. The HydraStar actuator will allow you to apply the brakes...

I have linked a video review of this actuator for you. I have included a link to the disc brake kits we carry for 7,000 pound axles. In order to determine the correct replacement disc brake actuator , you'll need to know the GVWR of your trailer, the size of hitch ball it will need to accept, and how it needs to mount. For instance, the Titan Zinc-Plated Actuator w/ Electric Lockout # T4750820 has a maximum weight capacity of 12,500-lbs, will accept a 2-5/16" hitch ball, and will bolt...

This disc brake kit is for spring axles only (which just means it will not fit torsion axles), and is the following: - Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000 lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E These are over-the-hub rotors with cast iron calipers for exceptional...

  • Is There Advantage to Using Hard Brake Lines or Flexible Brake Lines on Trailer
There really isn't an advantage to using hard brake lines over flexible ones. It really comes down to whichever will be easier for you to install. I would recommend the flexible brake line kit part # HS496-252 as it will be easier to install. While they lines are flexible they do not bulge or expand from brake pressure. This brake line setup would work really well with the Hydrastar actuator # HBA16 you mentioned as well as the Kodiak disc brake conversion kit you are going with.

The correct grease seal for disc brake kit # K2HR712D is # RG06-070. It does have an inner diameter of 2.25 inches and the outer diameter at 3.376 inches will fit the hub in the disc brake kit.
