this product help keep all things in order and I have not had any issues with wiring

Roy

1/22/2018

I had to upgrade my fifth wheel to a motorhome do to my wifes disability how ever every thing worked out just fine fo the short time I used it.

by:

Watch how you wire this up but once I started following the directions it worked perfectly. Would have liked a better waterproof box for wires but seems to holding up to the water.

I can't say enough good things about the staff at etrailer. They helped me pick out the correct items to install disc brakes on my boat trailer and the technical staff was extremely helpful in helping me better understand how to perform the installation. This was the first time I ever install a new brake system and their help enabled me to easily and successfully complete the installation. A+ for the product quality and for etrailer staff!

Would not recommend this package at all. The main cable (vehicle 7 prong cable) had all the wires miss attached, IE the brown was not the running light but the constant, yellow was constant etc, the only wire hooked up correctly was the white ground.

So during installation I assumed the harness would be correct, hooked up to my truck and not have a massive short in my truck due to the improper back feeding and drain. I had to bring another vehicle up and trace every wire individually with a test light to wire the trailer correctly. Good news, after 5 hours I was able to rewire my trailer, bad news I no longer have a truck to tow it with due to the short. I can not even begin to imagine the undertaking of now having to find the short in my truck.

Would recommend against purchasing this product at all costs, you're better off building one on your own harness which I guess I should have done!

by:

The color coding on the wiring block does not match the wires in the pigtail …. Be sure to test when plugged into your vehicle

Everything I have purchased from you had been the highest of quality. Very quick delivery. I rebuilt my boat trailer with your part and I couldn't be happier

  • Parts Needed to Add Electric Brakes to Dexter 2,000 lb Axles
Since your trailer has a 2,000 lb axle you do have to go with a 7 inch brake assembly set like the part # AKEBRK-2 since there isn't a 10 hub/drum that will fit your spindle. The correct size hub/drum would be the part # 8-257-5UC3-EZ and you'd be set. To convert the trailer wiring of your trailer to a 7-way you'd want the upgrade kit part # HS381-9000 and then 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) for wiring to the brake assemblies.

  • Do I Wire my Power jack to the Junction Box or Directly to the Battery
When wiring up a jack like the Electric Jack w/ Footplate part # EJ-3520-BBX on your trailer and you already have a junction box like the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector part # HS381-9000 I highly recommend wiring it to the junction box. Whether the jack is a single or dual wire you will be able to connect them to the box and not have to run excess wiring. If you do not have a junction box it is perfectly acceptable to go to the battery but I prefer...

  • Recommendation for Adding Electric Brakes to 2004 Jayco Qwest 8U for Subaru Outback
Your 2004 Jayco Qwest had axles that had too low a capacity to add brakes originally. The easiest conversion is to replace your current axle and suspension with the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs - Straight Spindle - 3,500 lbs # A35RS545E. This is a universal fit axle replacement that comes with the suspension, the EZ Lube axles and the brake assembly along with drums. The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 as you stated will be too much for your trailer, so I recommend the 2,000 lbs system with 4 inch lift spindles # ASR2KHDS03 as a better fit. For your hub assemblies, you will want the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 # 84656UC3-EZ to fit your bolt pattern. Finally, you will want the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer...

  • Why Dont 2,000 Lb Trailer Axles Comes with a Brake Mounting Flange
A 2,000 lb trailer axle like the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam part # T20BTR-7258 is not going to come equipped from the manufacturer with a brake mounting flange because of the weight of the trailer it is designed to be used on. However, most qualified welders can add the brake mounting flange part # 4-34 for a very small fee. The Dexter Trailer Axle has a 2,000 lb weight capacity, 58" spring center, and 72" hub face length. It uses a L44649 bearing on both the inner and outer seats. Once...

  • Replacement 7-Way and Lead Recommendation for Trailer with Melted Wiring
Since you have some wiring that melted a 7-way with a plug and lead like the part # A10-7W6 would be a great choice. Or to make the install even easier we have a 7-way with a junction box part # HS381-9000 that you can take your old wiring and connect to a box instead of to lose wiring for a much more secure and easier install. I am not totally sure what you mean by the connection bars but the parts I mentioned are sealed connectors.

  • Parts Needed to Add Wiring for Trailer Lights and Brakes
I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector # HS381-9000 to start off. This gives you a 7-Way connector and a clean and organized way to connect all of your wiring. Then for the wiring for your lights I recommend using the Wishbone Style Wiring Harness # A25W2GWB. • Parts Needed to Upgrade Trailer Wiring to 7-Way and Install Brake Controller on 2012 Toyota Tacoma

These are self adjusting brakes, so they're relatively easy to maintain once you've installed them. Since these assemblies don't come with mounting hardware you'll need to add it with part # BRKH12. I did some checking and your 2015 Jeep Wrangler is flat-towable on a tow dolly as-is whether it has an automatic or manual transmission. • Can You Add Trailer Brakes To A Trailer With 2200lb Axles
Absolutely! If your auto-flex 2200 lb axle does not already have a 4-bolt brake mounting flange you would need to add one. Assuming that your axle is 1-3/4" diameter you would need the # 4-34. The brake mounting flange will need to be welded on by a professional as it needs to be welded perfectly square to the axle or you may experience abnormal tire wear or other braking issues. I would need to know which hub and drum you'll be using (since you've already found one that matches your bearings), but from what I was able to base off some previous information on Shorelander trailers we've seen you'll likely want to use the # AKEBRK-35L-SA for your brakes. I can get you set up to tow your 2018 Mini Cooper JCW, but it will not be a flat tow setup with four wheels on the ground. You will not be able to tow your vehicle with the JCW trim. Instead my recommendation is the Roadmaster Tow Dolly, part # RM-2050-1. This tow dolly does have trailer brakes, but you will need a 7-way trailer connector for them to work. You can add the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box # HS381-9000, to your RV to power your brakes.

Electric brakes on a trailer would typically use 1 wire to feed the trailer brake assemblies.I'll link you to a help article that includes some wiring diagrams that you'll find helpful. I'd recommend removing the 5 pole and installing a 7-way plug. The easiest and neatest way to do this would be to use a 7-way pigtail/junction box like # HS381-9000.
