Video Transcript for Review of Draw-Tite Heavy Duty Receiver Hitch - Mounting Brackets - 4907

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches. Now, these are universal mounting brackets that'll let you mount the trailer hitch cross tube to the frame of your heavy-duty or commercial vehicle. These brackets are required for installation of either the Draw-Tite class V service body hitch. Part number 41990 or part number 41991.

Both of those we do sell separately on our website. And I just wanted to show you the picture of there's what the cross tube looks like with the hitch receiver in the middle. Now, I did mention two part numbers. The difference in those two part numbers are just the length of the tube. One, it's 44 inches long.

The other is 66 inches long. And as I mentioned, we do carry both of those on our website. Now, these brackets are designed to install to the vehicle. They are either a weld-on, or you can see the holes for a bolt-on installation. And again, another insert just to show you what the cross tube looks like with these brackets installed.

Basically, the bracket right here has a square opening on it that'll slide onto each end of the hitch cross tube. And then you slide it along the tube and adjust it to fit the frame width that's needed for your application. And then it's welded onto the cross tube. And then after the brackets are welded on them, then you can either bolt on or weld on the brackets and cross tube to your vehicle's frame. Now, once these are installed, the center of the hitch receiver opening will be about seven inches from the top of the vehicle's frame rail.

Basically, when you install these brackets, this top here will be right at the top of the vehicle's frame rail and the hitch tube will be in here. So, if you measure from the top here down to the center, let me just show you, it should get you about seven inches. That's your seven inch drop. Now, these are a nice, black powder coat finish over an e-coat base to help resist corrosion. Has two plates, one for each side. Measurements on the plates themself, we measure the width from here to here. You can see it's gonna be right at nine inches wide. And the overall height from the very bottom of the plate to the top of the plate is about 9 1/2 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches..

Defiantly looks like a great product! I’m using it for more than just a trailer hitch, so hopefully it will work. But I can’t say enough for the help I got from the staff, especially Jamie B !

Great product. But even better Sevice from etrailer as usual. Always a great buying experience.

1954 3100 Chevrolet. Ya just aren't going to get a hitch at Walmart for this truck. This is an awesome solution! Ya have to be able to weld but the end result is great! Thanks George!

  • Trailer Hitch Availability to Fit 2017 Mercedes Sprinter with Service Body
I spoke to my contacts at Curt and Reese and the only styles of hitches that can be made to fit a service body truck like yours are multi-fit RV hitches like the # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916. The rear ends on service bodies are all different dimensions so there's no way to have a hitch fit that works well with that vehicle configuration.

  • Recommended High Capacity Hitch for Class C RV on 2007 Chevy Express 3500 Cutaway Van Chassis
For a cutaway van chassis, we typically recommend a weld-on application that's typically used on a service body truck like the Draw-Tite # 41990. You'll also need frame brackets, either # 4907 for a 7 inch drop or part # 4916. To determine how much drop you need, measure downward from the underside of the frame member until you clear the underside of the bumper. The # 41990 is a class V hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening. The hitch has a 16K towing capacity/1600 lb tongue weight capacity,...

  • Heavy Duty Hitch For A 2004 Safari Simba 34SBD Pulling A Trailer
From what I could find, your 2004 Safari Simba 34SBD will be rated to 4,000 pounds towing. This will be due to the powertrain and capacity of the frame. With that said, you may be able to use the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 paired with the 7" Weld-On Bracket Kit # 4907 or 16" Weld-On Bracket Kit # 4916, but you will be limited by the lowest rated component. In this case, that will be your RV.

  • Receiver Hitch For 2014 Newmar Canyon Star Motorhome At Least 6,000 lb. GTW
The Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver, Class III - 2", # C13701 that you link to, has a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 5,000 lbs. However, this is increased to a maximum GTW of 6,000 lbs. when used with weight distribution system. My first suggestion is that prior to changing out current hitch, identify with Newmar if the factory installed hitch has similar rating as this may meet your needs. The two Curt Trailer Hitches, # C13702 and # C13701, are both rated the same with...

  • Travel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Cargo Carrier for Small ATV
For what you are looking to do I would recommend a multi-fit hitch like the part # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916. This hitch can work great on frames that are up to 44 inches apart. If your frame is wider than that you would want the part # 13703 that is adjustable for frames that are from 22 to 72 inches in width.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 1998 Utilimaster Step Van
The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 will definitely be a good option for your 1998 Utilimaster step van, as long as the frame is not longer than about 44" as you will need some cross tube for the brackets to be welded on. As to the brackets, the correct ones will depend on how low the bumper sits from where the hitch will be mounted to the frame. We have these brackets in a 7" drop ( # 4907) as well as a 16" of drop ( # 4916) if needed.

  • Which Hitch Will Fit a 2004 E-350 Cab and Chassis with 14 Foot Box Truck Body
For a 2004 Ford E-350 Cab and Chassis the Draw-Tite # 41906 is a custom fit, but you will need to make sure that the bolt holes are 38-5/8 inches from frame to frame in order for it to fit your particular model. While this hitch is a custom fit for the E-350 cab and chassis, it's possible that your box truck body may not have that hole spacing on the frame so you will want to confirm this. I've linked an installation video that can be used as a rough guide, since we don't have any videos...

  • Hitch Option For Saf-T-Liner Bus With 41 Inch Frame
We do, but you'll have to weld a hitch onto your Saf-T-Liner as there is no bolt on or otherwise custom fit option. So for your 41 inch frame width, you'll need the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990. Then for the brackets, measure from the top of the frame on your bus to the bottom of the bumper. If you need 5-9/16" (or less) to clear the bumper you will use 7" brackets # 4907; if you need 14-3/8" (or less) you will use the 16" brackets # 4916.

  • Trailer Hitch for 2002 Thomas Saf-T-Liner Bus
There is a way for you to add a trailer hitch to your 2002 Thomas Saf-T-Liner bus although there are none mounted vertically onto the frame, they will use brackets to mount to the frame which can be bolted or welded on. What you need is the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 so long as your bus has a frame which is up to 44" wide, because that is the length of this crosstube. You will then use either the 7" Bracket Kit or 16" Bracket Kit. To determine...

  • Recommended Class III Hitch for 2009 Ford E-450 Chassis Bus
I have a solution for you, but there is not a Class III custom fit hitch available for a 2009 Ford E-450 Bus chassis and the 7" Weld on Bracket Kit # 4907 with the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Hitch # 41990 is a Class V hitch- so it's not exactly what you're seeking. Instead, you can use the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703, which is a Class III hitch that will fit on box frame, I-frame or C-frames between 22" and 72" wide. This hitch can either...

The best option to add a hitch to your 2002 E-450 Ambulance is going to be the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch item # 41990-07. There are no custom fit hitches availabe. This hitch can be bolted on or welded to your Ford's frame. This hitch fits frames that are up to 44" wide. It is a class V hitch with a 2" receiver, that has a 16,000 lbs towing capacity. The best option for a trailer hitch that can install on your 1990 Ford E-350 with an ambulance body is a weld-on hitch like the Draw-Tite Class V # 41990. You will just need to add either the 7 inch drop brackets # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916. I do recommend having the installation done by a qualified professional welder. The top of the hitch opening will measure 6 inches from mounting surface of your vehicle. If your vehicle frame isn't 34 inches a better solution would be the multi-fit hitch part # 41990 that has a 16k capacity and either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or # 4916 for 16 inch drop.
