Today, we're gonna be primarily looking at three different trailer hitches for the RDX. There's one more as well that we have installed on the vehicle and we'll touch base on that here in a minute, but these will be our main focus and so we'll have the etrailer hitch, the Curt hitch, and the Draw-Tite hitch and if you we're to ask me what one I would personally choose, to be honest, you can't really go wrong with any of 'em. They're all very similar and I think it'll just boil down to which one you think will look the best. In my opinion, I feel like the etrailer would be the one I'd go to nine times out of 10. more

So with these SUVs being really capable, people do a lot of different things with them and so having a hitch back here is going to, you know, let you tow a trailer around or even use an accessory. There are a handful of different hitches available for the RDX and to be honest, they're all pretty much the same, especially you know, in terms of what they're gonna be able to handle and how they're actually gonna sit on the vehicle. Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Acura RDX, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class Two Trailer Hitch Receiver. Before we do that though, let's take a moment, check this out and make sure it's going to work for you. So with the RDX, you know, there's several different hitches available and with this one it's going to have the smaller inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. Now because of that smaller size it is a little less noticeable but it's not quite as versatile as the other hitches available. So this might be a good solution for those of you that already have those inch and a quarter accessories and and really like them and don't wanna have to bother with getting new ones or something along those lines. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out our best trailer hitch options for your 2007 Acura RDX. Two different hitches, right here we have the Draw-Tite hitch and right here we have the Curt, and although they're extremely similar in many ways, if I had to pick one for my own vehicle, probably lean more towards the Draw-Tite, and that's really just because this one's gonna have a little bit higher weight capacity, so it's gonna be a little more versatile, and that might be the difference of, you know, allowing you to use, let's say a 3-bike rack compared to a 5-bike rack or tow a little bit heavier trailer. So, you know, having that little extra capacity can put your mind at ease, and potentially open up your opportunity a little bit more on what you're gonna be able to do with your trailer hitch. Speaking of weights, the capacities are gonna be the biggest differences between these trailer hitches for sure. Like I said, the Draw-Tite ones are little bit higher, that's gonna have a 400 pound maximum gross tongue weight rating, so that's the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch, so that's good for those one to four, maybe even more bike racks, just kinda depending on the weight to everything, and it's gonna have a 4,000 pound maximum gross trailer weight rating, so that's the amount of weight pulling on the hitch, that's the weight of your trailer plus anything that you might have on it. more

Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Acura RDX- Video
Hi, John with e-trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Hitch on our 2019 Acura RDX. This hitch is a Class II Hitch and what that means is it's inch and 1/4 by inch and a 1/4 opening here. That's standard for these hitches. The chain stays are up on top on this one and it'll fit the S-hook style just fine. If you have the larger clevis style you can kinda get it in there and it'll still work for ya. more

That's something to keep in mind if you're looking at accessories like a cargo carrier or a bike rack. You wanna make sure it's a 2 inch size or it has an adapter for a 2 inch. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Acura RDX- Video
Today on your 2009 Acura RDX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install CURT's Class 3 two-inch trailer hitch receiver. It's going to be completely hidden behind our bumper here, as far as our cross tube is concerned, so you're only going to really notice the receiver here at the back. I do really like the way that it looks, especially with how easy it is to install. It's a Class 3, two inch by two inch receiver, so it's going to be great for all of your tailing needs, whether you want to put a bike rack in it and just get the trails, or if you want to hook up a little utility trailer or maybe a jet ski trailer and hit the lake for a weekend.It uses a five eighths inch hitch pin and clip. Now, one doesn't come included with the hitch, but we've got plenty available here at etrailer.com. On bottom, we have proof style safety chain loops with a nice large opening that should accommodate just about every shape, size, and style of safety chain. more

As you can see, the cross tube is completely hidden behind the bumper. It does sit nice and tucked in underneath the bumper fascia so you're not going to have to worry about hitting your legs or your shins on it when loading and unloading the vehicle.Now this is going to be a class 2. It's going to be an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter. Hitch pinhole's going to be half inch in diameter. It's also going to have a reinforced collar to give you a little extra stability on your receiver tube. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Acura RDX- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Acura RDX, we'll be having a look at, and showing you how to install, the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C13130.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. Now, what's great about this hitch is that the only part you'll see hanging down is the actual receiver opening itself. The body of the hitch is completely hidden behind your fascia, giving us a nice clean look behind our RDX.Welded on the back of our receiver, we have this nice collar, which helps reinforce the opening, and gives us a nice finished look. Welded onto the bottom of our receiver is our tubular steel safety chain loops, which is the attachment point for our safety chains from our trailer. These have a fairly decent opening, so we shouldn't have much problem hooking on most safety chains to them.On the side of our receiver, you'll find the industry standard 5/8" diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. You can pick up a pin and clip on our website as part number PC3.This hitch features a 600 pound tongue weight reading, which is the amount forcing down, and a 4,000 pound max gross trailer weight reading, which is the amount it can pull. more

This class two inch and a quarter receiver will be great for those of you that already have class one and class two inch and a quarter accessories, so just bike racks and cargo carriers. You'll be easily able to use them with this hitch.Now, the main part of our hitch is completely hidden behind our fascia here. The only part that you'll notice is the actual receiver hanging down itself. With this nice welded collar on the end of it, it helps give us a nice, clean factory-like appearance, and does help reinforce the opening. Welded onto the bottom of the receiver, you'll find our rolled steel safety chain loops for attaching our safety chains from our trailer. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Acura RDX - Draw-Tite- Video
Today in our 2009 Acura RDX, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame trailer hitch receiver class 3, part number 75563. Here's what it looks like once it's installed. You can see it's going to tuck up very nicely under the bottom side of our bumper. The only thing that's going to be visible from the rear is going to be our receiver tube which is going to be a 2"x2" class 3. It's got two hitch pin holes, our standard 5/8" for our hitch pin. It's got 1/2" for our j pin stabilization device. It's going to have a nice black powder-coated finish, and it's going to feature a loop-style safety chain holders to be able to put your nice large safety chain hooks through there. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Acura RDX - Curt- Video
Today on our 2015 Acura RDX, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt Custom Fit Class III 2-inch Trailer Hitch. Part Number C13130. Here's what the hitch is going to look like once installed. As you can see, like most hitches that work on this vehicle, it's going to be a really nice, clean look. You get your tube that comes out. It's about flush with the magnum upper, maybe inset about an inch to the end so you're not going to have to worry about bumping your leg or anything like that. Now, compared to some of the other hitches, this one does offer a higher tongue weight capacity at 600 pounds. Gross trailer weight capacity is going to remain at 4,000 pounds, but, of course, we need to consult the RDX's owner's manual to make sure those are allowable. more

Today on this 2013 Acura RDX, we're going to install part number C13130 from Curt. First we'll go underneath the vehicle and show you where attachment points are. There's a threaded hold at the very end of the frame and an existing hole going up towards the front. This will be the same on both sides. Next we'll show you the hardware that works with the hitch. On our threaded hole in the frame, it will have a metric bolt and it will get a conical-tooth washer. Make sure your teeth on the conical-tooth washer always face towards the hitch. For the open hole going up towards the front of the vehicle, we'll get a handle nut. more

Today on our 2014 Acura RDX were going to be installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12083. Now heres what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now well go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 4-1/2 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13-1/2 inches. Now lets go ahead and install our hitch. Were going to begin first by pointing out our mounting locations. Well start here at the passenger side. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Acura RDX - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on this 2013 Acura RDX were going to install part number 75692 from Draw Tite. This is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 14 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about four and a half inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. more

Before we start our installation, here are a few measurements that will assist you when selecting accessories, such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost part of the bumper is 5 inches, and from the top of the reciver tube to the ground is 12 inches. Now, lets go ahead with our install. Now, to begin our installation, well go ahead and point out the connection points on the frame of the vehicle. On the passenger side at the rearmost point is a weld nut, here, and well be using this hole here for our frontmost attachment. more
