Today on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite, proportional trailer brake controller. This is gonna work for trailers with one up to three axles. Now, to help us with our installation, we'll also be using part number ETBC7, which is an electronic brake controller installation kit. Now there are several advantages to the Tow-Pro Elite that we get here that we don't often get with standard proportional brake controllers. The user control function, I think, a very, very good design. Basically, it's gonna allow us to switch from the blue mode, which is proportional, to a green mode; that's user controlled. more

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the red arc tow pro elite proportional trailer brake controller for one to three axles, now to help us in our installation, We're going to be using the universal mounting panel for our red arc tow pro brake controller, remote head. And that's going to be part number 331-TPSI-001 So here's where our tow pro elite brake controller looks like once we have it installed it's going to be an extremely compact unit. And all we're going to see is the knob with the led light right here. This is going to be a great solution to the traditional style brake controller which typically do take up a decent amount of space and they do get kind of cumbersome where they may interfere with your legs while you're driving. Now, you'll notice that we have a blue led indicator light that's on right by our knob. And that's going to let us know that our trailer is connected but when we don't have a trailer connected there's not going to be a light on at all. more

Hi GMC owners, today in our 2015 GMC Acadia, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller. In addition to that, we're gonna be using Tekonsha's custom fit wiring harness to help it get plugged directly into our Acadia. This is a proportional controller, so as you hit the brakes in your vehicle and come to a stop, the inertia is detected inside the controller here. That's why it doesn't have to be in this orientation. And it will apply the brakes on the trailer behind you in a way that will make it seamless and smooth. Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller here on our 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 So the first step of our installation. We`re gonna take our brake controller we`re gonna come to the rear of our pick-up here find your trailer connector we`re gonna flip open the lid for the seven way portion we`ll make sure the tab on our brake controller is facing up, and then we can simply insert it into the trailer connector pushing it down to make sure it is secure And if the brake control has power, we should see a flashing blue light that lets us know that we don't have a trailer connected I`ll also like to point out that on the particular model you receive you`re going to get a stability strap your safety strap, whatever you want to call it. It basically is just an extra measure of security it wraps around the brake controller and lid on our seven way to give you a little bit of a tighter fit. So now with our brake controller plugged in we`re just gonna grab the seven way on our trailer open the lid on the brake controller and we`ll just press that in there nice and firmly and if everything was done correctly and it recognizes the trailer, we should see a flashing green light. So once we have our trailer plugged in we`re gonna come back inside the vehicle here and you`ll first need to download the Curt Echo App. more

Hey everybody, how's it going today We're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller here on our 2019 Ford F150. We do offer it with the included brake controller adapter you needed. If you already have the P3 however, and you don't have this harness, the harness can be purchased separately as well as obviously the brake controller. So the Prodigy P3 is going to allow us to tow a trailer with brakes. We will have to have a fully functioning seven way trailer connector, but once we have that, all we'll need is a brake controller, and then we'll be able to control the brakes on a trailer. So the contract Prodigy P 3 is going to be a top of the line brake controller option. more

Hi there Subaru owners. Today on your 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Redarc's Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller. This comes in two different options. You can purchase it with or without the connector harness. I highly recommend that you get the connector harness because you're pretty much going to need it to be able to plug into the brake controller, and it gives you a nice pigtail to make all of your connections. Today in your 2006 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller.Our customer has recently been hauling his Winnebago here, and you can see this big old trailer, and this is what he's been using to haul it here, this old impulse brake controller. He's been having a lot of issues with the brakes applying too hard, they're just abrupt, this is an old time-delay model. He just doesn't like the way it feels. He gets a lot of issues with the way it porpoises from applying a little bit too hard, especially just going around parking lots and things like that, it's even more noticeable.So we're going to get this old nasty wiring he's got and get this guy out of here, and get him something a little more modern that's going to smooth out his towing experience.Tekonsha's Prodigy P3 Brake Controller is a premium brake controller that has pretty much every option that you would want. It works with trailers that have one to four axles and provides you with some extra features that many of the other ones don't. more

This is a kind of unique brake controller in that it mounts mostly to your trailer rather than you having to find a place in your vehicle for that brake controller itself. This is a really great option for those folks that don't want to have anything in the way of their dash, or maybe there's just not a good spot to put a brake controller in there, just not a lot of room, or again, you just don't want to make any modifications to it.Normally with a brake controller, you've got to find a spot for that little unit to go on your dash or somewhere nearby at hand so that the driver can operate it. But that's just not always an option for a lot of vehicles. So this gives you a really nice proportional brake controller to control the brakes on your trailer, make sure that they apply, bring your trailer to a safe stop so you're not relying solely on your towing vehicle to do all the work. more

Brake controls are really nice because it'll slow our trailer down and keep us from wearing out the brakes on our vehicle and it's a little bit safer because if that trailer pushes and we have to slam on our brakes hard, it could be catastrophic.Now this is a very simple kit to install and it looks really nice in our vehicle. We're not going to be hitting our knee on it and it's going to look really nice on our dash. This is the only part of our brake controller actually visible and a lot of them are a big box that we have to mount down here and when you're getting in or out, it's really common to knock your knees on them, knock them out of alignment and it's an eyesore in the cab of the vehicle. more

Today, we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install, the Tekonsha P3 Proportional Brake Controller for one to four axles on our 2014 Toyota Sienna. This is what our Tekonsha is going to look like installed. A lot of people put them over here or even lower down on the dash and it's really easy to bump your knees on them, but we have a really good place to mount it here, where it's not going to get in the way when we're getting in and out of our Sienna. Our brake controller is going to activate the brakes on our trailer whenever we push the brakes in our car. It is going to be proportional so however hard we push the brakes in our car, that's going to apply the same amount of braking pressure in our vehicle. more

This will allow you to easily plug in to the factory tow package connector on your GM vehicle and provide you with a cable that will plug directly into any Takonsha or Draw-Tite brake controller. You want to make sure that you use our fit guide to ensure that your specific year make and model GM vehicle will work with this adapter.And you'll notice that we've got four wires on our harness, here. These are the necessary wires that you'll need for your brake controller. You've got your power wire, which is our black one here, you've got your ground wire, which is your white one. more

Along with this, we're going to be using Tekonsha's GM custom fit wiring adapter that's going to allow us to plug it directly into the vehicle, straight into our brake controller. And this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. It comes with multiple different bracket options, we've chosen the one that has the quick release, since you can just easily pop it right out of there if you want to take it out, that's great for security if you get to a location where you're going to be towing maybe later, but you're not hooked up now, or you're going to be leaving your truck for a while at a spot, and you can secure this into your glove box or your center console, keep it out of sight and out of mind.Tekonsha's P3 is one of my top choice brake controllers. It's designed to work with trailers that have one to four axles. more

Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Hyundai Palisade- Video

We're going to be taking a look at the CURT Spectrum trailer brake controller here for our 2020 Hyundai Palisade.So, our CURT Spectrum brake controller here is going to be an excellent option for our vehicle. The main reason I feel that this is because it's going to have a super, super clean installation. As we can see here, the only thing we're going to have mounted on our dash is the actual control knob, which we have these nice illuminating lights that you can change the colors in the settings. So, it's going to offer a very clean factory-like finish, if you will. We've actually went ahead and mounted it here on our fuse panel cover, and the reason for this is if we do decide to remove the brake controller, we could replace this panel and have a complete factory interior and dash. more

Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Review- Video
Hi there hollers there. Today we're going to be taking a look at Tekonsha's Primus IQ proportional trailer brake controller.This brake controller is going to be your entry level into a proportional brake controller and even though this is entry into proportional, I would recommend it over most of your time delay modules, just to how much smoother your breaking experience is going to be with a proportional controller, because proportional means that it uses an internal inertia sensor to detect the movement of the vehicle.So as we hit the brakes and go to a stop, that inertia sensor is going to detect that loss of motion and it's then going to use that information to apply a signal to the trailer brakes at the back, which will apply them. But it uses this information to help match the application of the brakes, to what you're doing here in the vehicle. So that way, when you hit the brakes, you're going to get a softer brake application at the trailer if you hit the brake softly in the vehicle. And then if you need an aggressive stop, like an emergency stop and you hit the brakes hard here in the vehicle, it's then going to detect that quick stop and it's going to put out a hard, aggressive brake to your trailer.With your time delays, you're just going to have whatever you have your setting to on your adjustment. And then a few seconds after applying the pedal, it will then apply to that exact amount that you've got it set to. more

Now, our PrimusIQ, I like it because it's a proportional style brake controller. Now, what that means is, is that it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer at the same time and intensity that we apply the brakes in our caravan, opposed to the traditional style or older style brake controllers that we're a time delay. It is blue, which means that we're currently in proportioning mode. That's your normal mode. When in proportioning mode, when you apply your brakes, the module will detect the inertia and it will use your setting here to appropriately apply the brakes to help match your vehicle.
