Basically, this part right here will slide into your vehicles two inch hitch receiver opening, and it'll provide you an attachment point for you to lunette ring coupler or the hitch ball will connect to a standard 2-5/16 diameter ball coupler. Does use this nice auto locking system to secure the lunette ring without manual coupling, going to demonstrate that here. Basically what you first want to do is remove this safety clip, this pin clip right here, take that out, and that'll let this latch fall down just like that.And then what you want to do, I have an example here is a three inch diameter lunette ring. So what you'll see happens is you back your vehicle up that has the lunette ring on it. more

Now the main advantage with this ball mount is that it's going to be very versatile. If we pull this, we can get access to putting a lunette ring over this, hence the pentil mount design, so we'll be able to drop that in place, put the keeper back over, replace our pin and clip, and then we can tow that trailer with that lunette ring down the road. So that works for those big AG trailers or anything that's hauling big, heavy construction equipment and things like that. But then if you have a regular trailer coupler that just uses that ball coupler, you can stow that little keeper out of the way. more

Now, these are both going to be a little bit unique from the other BMW Tow & Stow ball mounts, since they are designed specifically for the GM MultiPro tailgate, that feed new tailgate for the 2020 GMC Sierra that folds down in several different configurations. So to accommodate that these have a angled platform to allow for that to a drop-down and not cause any issues with that tailgate. Now keep in mind, whenever you're using that tailgate drop-down feature, you will need to have the hitch balls stowed. So they're going to flip around to the other side of the shank. more

Here we have CURT's Starter Towing Kit for two inch hitches. It comes with all the stuff you're going to need to get yourself hooked up to your trailer and on the road. You've got your ball mount with a drop, it comes in a two inch drop position right out the gate, which in most cases is going to be what you're going to need. Usually your trailer sits a little bit lower unless you've got a smaller vehicle here, we're on our SUV and your trucks, you usually want to go down.Now if you're on something small, like your sedan type vehicles, you might want to flip it over and put it in the rise position and that's easy to do. You simply take your ball off, we'll remove the receiver from the hitch, flip it over, and then reinstall the ball so it's faced up and this is going to give you a three quarter inch rise.Now, again, that's going to be mostly for your sedans, your SUVs and trucks, you're probably going to keep it in this position. MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount Review MT70067- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at MaxxTows Adjustable Height Ball Mount for 2-Inch Hitches and this is useful if you have multiple trailers you haul, so if you have a small utility trailer that you use sometimes, you can put it in that drop position since this sits so low to the ground.Now we're looking to hook our boat up, take a little trip to the lake. We have to flip it over and put it in the lowest rise position to haul this one nice and level.Another reason you may want this, is if you have an extremely low sitting vehicle like our Fiat here, to put it in a rise position to allow you to two many trailers that would sit way too low in the front without it and vice versa if you've got a lifted truck like our Super Duty here, you'll likely need a drop in order for level towing.With this ball mount in the drop position, you'll have as little as a five inch drop up to a 10-inch drop and when in the rise position, you'll have as little as a four inch rise up to an eight inch rise so you can ensure that your set up between your vehicle and trailer will be towing as level as possible.It's easy to adjust. To move the ball up and down, you simply pull your pins here, slide them out and you can adjust that height by simply sliding the pins back in.The distance between the holes on your rise or drop is going to be about one and half inches so if you move it up or down a hole, that's how much you're going to be changing the heighth of your ball. We've currently got ours in the drop position but if you need a rise position, it's easily done by pulling the pins, taking your ball off, pulling the pin on your receiver here, sliding it out, flipping it over, putting your pin back in, select the appropriate height that you need for your rise, and then reinstall the pins on the ball section.To give you an idea how far it's going to stick out of your receiver, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of our ball mount hole is going to be about 12 and a quarter inches.It features a 500 pound ton weight, and that's the force going down on top of the receiver, and a five thousand pound gross towing capacity and that's how much it can pull behind it.It gets this due to its durable steel construction so it's going to be nice and heavy duty and the black powder coat finish on it is going to ensure a long lasting finish and protect it against rust and corrosion.Now, our ball mount doesn't come with a hitch ball but you can purchase one here at etrailer.com. It accepts any ball that has a one inch shank. You'll want to make sure you select the appropriate ball size for your trailer and one that matches the trailer rating. more
