Today we're going to take a look at the best hitch options for your 2018 Ram 1500.Here, we have your top four hitches for your Ram 1500.Here, we're going to have eTrailer's class III hitch.This one over here, we're going to have CURT's class III hitch.Here on our rack on the bottom, we're going to have Draw-Tite's class V.Here on the top, we're going to have CURT's class V.As far as ease of installation, I'm going to have to give that to the two class III hitches. As far as weight capacity, I'll have to give that to the CURT. As far as durability, I'm going to have to give that to eTrailer's class III hitch and the CURT, because it's going to have a triple-car ride black powder coat finish.As far as my personal opinion, I don't do a whole lot of heavy hauling, so I would go with the eTrailer class III because of the durability of the finish. If I did do heavy hauling, I would go with the CURT. Today on our 2018 Ram 1500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com class three trailer hitch receiver, part number E98852. This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. What's nice about this hitch and what's going to set it apart from others is how compact it is. Everything's contained right here in the center of your bumper area unlike some of the other ones that are going to have a cross tube that's going to stretch across the underside of your bumper here and then hook to your frame rails. As far as the weight capacities that can go on this, you're going to have a 600-pound max tongue weight which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube, and you're going to have a gross towing weight of 6,000 pounds which is how much it's going to pull. Today on our 2015 Ram 3500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the TorkLift SuperHitch Original. This is a custom fit Class V trailer hitch receiver offering the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. It's part number is TLD1108.Now, here's what our SuperHitch is going to look like installed. As you can see, this is going to give us that dual receiver opening that we need for that SuperTruss system. Not only is it a great looking hitch, it has a really nice finish on it, also has a really good capacity. The tongue weight rating or the maximum downward force we can put here at the receiver tube opening is 1,700 pounds, and it gives us a gross trailer weight rating of 17,000. more

One nice thing about this hitch that you'll notice is that we have plenty of clearance around the receiver. This will make it easy for us to use with our ball mounts, hooking up to our trailer, our bike racks, and our cargo carriers without having to worry about any interference of our bumper.On the side of our receiver, you'll notice that there's two pin holes. The larger one, closer to the front of the vehicle, that is our industry standard, five eighths of an inch diameter hitch pin hole that we use to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories with a pin and clip. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One thing I noticed about this hitch is we have plenty of clearance around the receiver making this a great hitch to use not only towing a trailer but with bike racks and cargo carriers as well. On the side of our receiver you'll our industry standard five eighths of an inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure hitch mounted accessories.Welded on the back of our receiver opening here is this collar which not only gives it a nice finished look but it also improves the strength of the receiver opening. Welded on to the bottom of out hitch is our plate style safe chain loops. Now what's great about these is they have a larger enough opening so even if you have a very large safety chain hook like this one you can still clip in very easily. more

Speaker 1: Today in this 2012 Ram 1500 we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame class 5 trailer hitch receiver, part number 41948.One thing that's great about this hitch is that we have plenty of clearance around our bumper so we don't have to worry about causing any damage to our bumper as we're hooking it up to our trailer or using with bike racks or cargo carriers.On the side of our receiver you'll find two pin holes. The larger one closest to the front of the vehicle, that's our 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole, secure hitch mount and accessories. One thing I'd like to point out, it is reinforced around the opening on it. Because this being a class 5 hitch and capable of towing a lot of weight, you want to make sure that's reinforced so you don't have to worry about the hole becoming elongated as you're towing a heavy trailer.Closer to the rear we have our J pin stabilization device hole. What that does is take away the annoying shake, play and rattle at what's inserted in your receiver. We are going to be able to see that cross tube, just right below the bumper, but it's going to hide nicely, because it has that flat, black, powder coat finish on it, so it's just going to blend in.Mainly what we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out, and it is a Class V, which means it's going to give us that 2" X 2" receiver tube opening, and as you can see, it's got that nice, reinforced collar, giving it added strength, and just an overall finished look.The way we're going to attach all of our accessories is going to be through this pinhole, here, and that's going to accept a stand 5/8 pin and clip. They're not included, but you can pick one up on our website, using part number PC3.The safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style, welded directly to the bottom of our cross tube and receiver tube, here, and the loops are going to be rather large, so we're going to have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off. Just want to keep in mind, if you are using a locking device, may have a little bit of trouble, depending on the angle, because they are directly in front of that pin.As fat as the weight's concerned, this is a Class V, so it's going to give us a lot of weight capacity. more

It is a class 4 hitch which means it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and it's got that nice reinforced collar giving it added strength and just an overall finished look to it.Now the way we're going to mount all of our accessories is going to be through this hole here on the side and it's going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. They're not included but you can pick some up on our website using part number PC3.As far as the safety chain connection points go, it's going to be a plate style welded to the bottom. As you can see, we're not going to have any trouble getting most sized hooks on or off. Just keep in mind that if you are using a locking device, that pin hole is pretty close to where the safety chains go so you want to make sure that it doesn't interfere with anything.Now as far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 1,000 pound ton weight along with a 10,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

This secondary hole's gonna be for the J Pin stabilization device and that's gonna be great for any of your accessories that don't have a built in anti-rattle, keeping everything nice and snug inside your receiver tube. The way the J Pin's gonna work is it's gonna work like a normal hitch pin, going in one side and as you can see it's gonna hook around applying pressure right here to your accessory. more

The three hitches we'll be taking a look at today are all class-5 hitches and they're all going to work with or without your factory hitch installed. First we have the Curt Commercial-Duty Hitch with a 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" opening, which is part number C15809. Next we have the Curt Extra-Duty with a 2" by 2" opening, which is part number C15409, and then finally we have the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch. When it comes to weight rating, the Curt Commercial-Duty is going to offer us a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 20,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight rating of 2,700 pounds. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Ram ProMaster City - Draw-Tite- Video
Today in our 2017 Ram ProMaster City, we'll be installing a Draw-Tite MaxFrame class three trailer hitch receiver, part number 75219. Here's what the hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's completely tucked up behind our fascia here. The only part hanging down is our class three 2x2 inch receiver opening here. On the bottom of our receiver we have our nice, easy to use, safety chain loops here. On the side of our receiver you see we have two pin holes here. more

This alters the two inch by two inch opening. It's part number is 75662. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we'll be installing the Draw Tite Ultra Frame Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 41948. We have a large diameter frame that goes across, very strong and very structural. You can see our 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole is reinforced on the outside edge on both sides of our receiver. One nice thing about this hitch, even though it's a Class 5 hitch and a very substantial hitch, it still tucks in behind our bumper here of our vehicle, so when we're loading the bed of our truck, we don't have to worry about running our shins or knees into the receiver on the hitch. This Class 5 hitch has a 1,500 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 12,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. If you step up to weight distribution, you're max tongue weight stays the same at 1,500 pounds but your max gross trailer weight rating increases to 15,000 pounds. You'll want to consult with the owner's manual of your Ram 1500 first before you tow at that limit. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Curt 14374- Video
Today in our 2015 RAM 1500, we'll be installing the Curt Class 4 trailer hitch receiver, part number 14374. As you can see it's nice and tucked up underneath our bumper. Doesn't stick out any behind it either so you don't have to worry about running into the receiver or loading the bed of our truck. We have these nice, easy to use safety chain loops right here so we can hook up our safety chains of our trailer. You can see it's of substantial plate that's welded to the bottom of our receiver and to the frame of our hitch itself. We have our standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, so secure any of our hitch mounting accessories that we have. We have this nice reinforcement collar welded to the front of our receiver right here where we insert our accessories. This hitch feature a 1,000 lb max tongue weight rating and a 10,000 lb max gross trailer weight rating. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Curt C15572- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be installing the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C15572. This is a Class V hitch, so it can handle a substantial amount of weight. That's why we need to have this frame, versus just utilizing the factory hitch attachment points that would be right here on a small square. It's very heavy duty. They're made to handle a lot of weight and abuse. You can just see by the thickness of our safety chain loops here how substantial it is, being welded all to the bottom of the receiver, and all the way back to the frame of the hitch itself. This hitch will work great for you if you're in construction, or doing a lot of heavy duty work with heavy duty equipment, and you have to tow a big trailer behind you with a lot of weight, but you can't utilize a goose neck or a fifth wheel trailer, this will work out perfectly for you. We have these easy use safety chain loops right here. We have our standard 5/8ths inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, and a nice collar welded around the opening of our receiver to add some reinforcement to it. more
