Today on this 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac were going to install part number 90885 from Tekonsha. To help install our brake controller were going to be using the following parts. Were going to be using the etbc7 kit and also a bracket, part number 18136 from Tow Ready. Now well start off installing our bracket to the hitch because we need this bracket to install the seven-pole bracket that comes with the etbc7 kit. Well go ahead and connect the seven-pole bracket to our mounting bracket, and then well attach it to the hitch. Well wrap up our seven-pole adapter wires with electric tape leaving out the four-pole, the blue wire which is our brake wire and the black wire which is the 12 volt power supply. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, well be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Control, part number TK90160. Note this vehicle is already equip with an ETBC7 Brake Controller Install Kit so well just need to hardwire in our brake controller, mount it, and were ready to go. Well first start with mounting our brake controller. Well take the brake controller bracket and the hardware provided and attach it here to the kick panel. Then we can take our four-pole plug provided with the brake controller and the red wire coming off our four-pole plug that will get attached to the brake switch signal. For this application the brake switch signal will be the blue wire coming from the brake switch. more

Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Silverado well be installing the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, part number 39510 in conjunction with the Tekonsha Pigtail Wiring Harness, part number 7894. The first step of our install will be locating the manufacturers wiring up underneath the dash. This will be taped to the outside of a wire loom and a white sticker color indicator wrapped around it. Our first step will be cutting these wires free and pulling the sticker so we know which color has which power feed. Now for this application well only be using four of the five wires and the orange wire will not be used so Im going to go ahead and wrap it up then wrap up some of the wires with some black electrical tape. Then well go ahead and strip back each one of the wires adding a butt connector. more

Today on this 2001 Nissan Xterra we're going to install part number 90195 from Tekonsha, the P3 brake controller. To install our brake controller we're also going to use part number ETBC7 to install it, and we're going to work with that part number first. We're going to take the seven pole adapter and connect that to the gray cable in the kit. We'll use the butt connector to make our connections, and we'll use the color code as follows: We're going to go black to black, and white to blue. Our black wire will be used for our 12 volt power supply going out to the seven pole connector, and our blue wire will be our brake controller output. Now that blue wire is going to change from blue to white and then it will go back to blue eventually at the brake controller. more

Today with this 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, we're going to be installing the Tekonsha P3 brake controller, part number 90195 and the custom fit brake control harness for this vehicle, part number 3023-P. The first thing we need to do is set our mounting bracket for our controller. Pick a suitable location that won't be in the way of the driver's knees, but will allow easy access to the manual override switch on the bottom of the controller. Once you've found a location for the bracket, make sure that there are no electrical components behind it before you secure it with the included screws.With our controller in place, we'll move on to the brake control harness. The next thing we need to do is find the electrical connections up underneath the dash of our Ram pickup. The first connection we need to make is the large square connector on the harness. more

Today on this 2011 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to install part number 39510 from Tekonsha. This is the Voyager trailer brake controller. This vehicle has already been equipped with a 4-pole wiring packaging from the factory. To add our brake controller and connector, we're basically going to just fill in the blanks. We're going to start off underneath the dash. We're going to locate the tow package port underneath the dashboard which is going to be just right of the steering wheel, behind the dash, and also a little bit above the diagnostic port. We'll go ahead and take the adapter cord and plug it into the brake controller, and then we'll go ahead and plug it into the port underneath the dash. The part number for our adapter cord will be3050-P. more

Today on our 1991 Ford F150, we will be installing the Tekonsha PowerTrac electric brake controller, part number 39523 in conjunction with the ETBC7 Brake Controller wiring as well as the replacement brake control plug in harness for Tekonsha and Draw-Tite type brake controllers, part number 20127. We will begin our installation here at the rear bumper. We will need to install the bracket to the rear bumper that will hold our 7 pole connector. We will take the bracket and the hardware, put the bracket in place here in the redrilled holes. Slide the bolt through, put the washers on the other side and lock it down with the nut. With both bolts in, we can go ahead and tighten it down securing it to the rear bumper. We are now ready to put the 7 pole into the bracket. We will take our 7 pole connector and the hardware here, put the connector into place making sure that the wires pass through the bracket and with our connector in place, we will pass the bolts through the connector, through the bracket, put the nut on the other side and tighten them down. more

Not to start off well go ahead and look for the two package wires underneath the dash of our truck. Well look up underneath there and we should see a blue wire, a red wire, a white wire, a light blue wire with stripes and an orange wire. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller, part number 90195. We'll also be using the ETBC7 brake control install kit, part number ETBC7. The first step of our install will be taking the previously installed four pole connector at the back of the vehicle and routing it outside. To do this we'll need to open up the rear cargo door to gain access to the four pole. Then we'll remove the drivers side lower storage compartment and necessary panels to access it. This will allow us to reroute the four pole connector outside the grommet you can see here. more

Were going to start off by working on the inside of the vehicle and then work our way out. The gray cable that comes with the kit will not be long enough for this install. We end up using a 42-foot length cable to complete the job. This will be part number 10-2-1. Now were going to take our wire, well run it from the inside to the outside. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Van well be installing the ETB C7 brake controller installation kit, part number ETBC7 in conjunction with the Tekonsha P2 brake controller, part number 90885-3034P. The first step of our install will be installing the seven pole bracket onto our new seven pole. Well go ahead and use the hardware provided with our installation kit. Well drop the screws through the seven pole and then secure them with the nuts on the back side and tighten them down. Next we can then go ahead and secure the seven pole bracket directly to the bottom of the bumper using some self-tapping screws. Before I feed the wires over the hitch Im going to go ahead and use some black electrical tape to wrap them up, to help in protecting the wires and cleaning up our installed look. more

Male: Today on our 2012 Nissan NV, we'll be installing ETBC7 kit, part number ETBC7. First we'll need to go ahead and mount the 7 pole bracket onto the 7 pole. We'll use the supplied hardware to install the bracket and then we'll go ahead and tighten it down. Next for this application we'll also be using the drawl tight mounting bracket part number 18136. Now with our 7 pole bracket secured to our mounting bracket we'll go ahead and use the worm clamp provided with the mounting bracket to attach it to the hitch. Note before I do that I'm going to go ahead and take some black electrical tape and wrap up our wires. This will assist in providing a clean install look while protecting the wires. Then I'll go ahead and feed the wires through the hole pre-drilled in the bracket so that they'll route up over the hitch once we mount our bracket to the hitch. Now we're ready to go ahead and mount the bracket using the worm gear clamp provided. Next we'll need to go ahead and take the 4 pole pre-installed on this application and route it to the 4 pole on our 7 pole bracket. more

Well first need to disassemble the interior of the vehicle to gain access to the wiring. Our first step will be removing the rear threshold. To do this well remove the fastener caps. Once we have the fastener caps out of the way we can then go ahead and remove the Phillips screws fastening the rear threshold. Once we have those out of the way well go ahead and set the threshold aside for reinstallation later. more

Well go ahead and attach the universal mounting bracket to the hitch with the clamp provided. Now, before we install the seven pole connector and bracket onto the hitch well go ahead and remove the manufacturers four pole to make room for the seven pole bracket. more

If you look near the parking brake actuator or arm, in between that and the brake pedal, you'll see a red wire with a black stripe, a blue wire, a light blue wire with a white stripe, and a white wire. These will be taped or wrapped to a bundle of wires. As you can see, we've located them. We'll need to go ahead and cut them free. more

Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon well be installing the Tekonsha Brake Controller part number 90885. Keep in mind this setup is for a vehicle equipped with the manufacturers 7-pole. First, well go ahead and identify the manufacturers wiring that well be connecting to. As you can see here there is a red wire with a black tracer which would be the manufacturers power wire, a light blue wire with a white tracer which would be the brake switch signal circuit, a dark blue wire which will be the power feed to the 7-pole brakes and then a white wire for ground. Lets go ahead and pull them free from the manufacturers harness now. Now, we can go ahead and mount the brake control bracket. more

So, our first step will be to locate the manufacturers wiring that will be connecting our brake controller wiring. Here above the brake pedal is the manufacturers wiring outside of any wiring loom. Youll notice therell be five wires as in orange, which we will not be using, the dark blue which will be our brake signal that will go to our seven poll, a light blue wire which will be the brake pedal signal, a red wire with a black tracer which will our power wire and then a white wire which will be our ground. Ill go ahead and cut some of the excess length off, as we will not need at all. Now well go ahead and strip back each one and a butt connector. more

To begin our installation we are going to start here at the back of the vehicle. Go ahead and wire up our bracket and start running our new duplex cable to the front of the vehicle. As you can see this vehicle is already equipped with a four pole harness. Before we can install our seven-pole well need to go ahead and attach the mounting bracket. Well use some supplied hardware then once we get all four fasteners in position well go ahead and tighten them down. more

You'll want to make sure before you start mounting the bracket to the vehicle, that you check to make sure that there are no electrical components behind where you're going to mount it. Were clear on the back of this plastic tab and theres the metal structure here for our dash that we'll also be drilling in to. This is going to provide a secure mount for our brake controller. Next well use the small machine screws that came with our brake controller with the lock washers on them to mount the controller to the bracket. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2006 Chevrolet Uplander

Today on this 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, well be installing the Tekonsha PRIMUS Brake Controller, part number TK90160 and ETBC7 installation. We will now go ahead and get a wire harness for each install on the vehicle. We will take a gray cable with the black and white wires and connect it up to the cables on the 7-pole connector. We will connect black to black and the blue wire, we will connect it to our white wire. And then we will go ahead and install the loom and get it ready. Now, we will move on to installing the bracket for our 7-pole connector. more

All right today, on this 2008 GMC Yukon, were going to install part number 90885 from Tekonsha. This is a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller. A little prep work before we get started, were going to take the wire harness that comes with the brake controller and add some bloom loom material to it which is part number 459075-1. Well use about 2ft of it. And then we went ahead and added the butt connectors to the end of the wires. We used the bigger yellow ones for the heavier gauge wires and the smaller blue ones for the ladder gauge wires. more

Today we have a 2003 Chevy Express 2500 and we're going to be installing an ETBC7 Kit, part number ETBC7, as well as our Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part number 90885. The first thing we need to do is mount our bracket. We've positioned our bracket and marked a couple of holes here with a paint marker. We'll take a couple of self-tapping screws and attach our bracket. With our seven-way bracket installed, we're ready to mount our actual seven-way. We'll feed the loose wires up and over the hitch and put the seven-way into the bracket. more

All right, today on this 2012 Chevy Silverado, we're going to install part #90885 from the inaudible. This is the P2 brake controller. First thing we need to do is go ahead and find the factory wiring harness on our truck. Now it's located behind the dash underneath the steering wheel just a little towards the left and a little bit left of the brake pedal. Now it's pretty far up in there so it'll take a while to find. Now, take the wires and let's gently pull them down. more

Today in this 2010 Toyota Highlander, were going to install the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller, part number 90195. To install this brake installer, well also be using the ETBC7 kit and a tow-ready universal mounting bracket, part number 18136. First Im going to install my seven-pole bracket that comes in my kit with the universal mounting bracket. Next, well go ahead and put our bracket on the hitch. Once I have my bracket attached, Ill just use a pair of tune snips to cut off the access from the band. Now weve got our simple bracket and universal mounting bracket attached to the hitch, well go ahead and install our seven pole connector. more

Today we're working on a 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer. We're going to install the Tekonsha P-3 Brake Controller, product number 90195. Our first step is to remove the lower kick panel. There are several fasteners that will have to be removed. Ok, with our kick panel lowered we need to locate the manufacturer's wiring that we're going to connect to. This white tag is the indicator that we're looking for and then you can see the taped off ends here taped up to the manufacturer's harness. more

Today, on this 2008 Ford Explorer, we're gonna install a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part number 90885. We're also gonna be installing the ETBC7 kit or part number ETBC7 and Tow-Ready Mounting Bracket part number 118136.First, we'll take our Tow-Ready Bracket and our 7-Pole and we'll install them together. Simply using the hardware that comes with our bracket then we'll go ahead and tighten our screws down.Now we assembled our bracket mounting to our tow-ready bracket, we have the option of mounting it here on our new hitch or we're actually gonna mount it here on the manufacturer's hitch.With our bracket in place, we take our band clamp, comes with the bracket install kit.Go ahead and wrap it around the bracket and the hitch.Once you get your bracket positioned where you want it and your band in place, you can go ahead and tighten it down.Say we've got a little bit leftover here from our clamp, Im just gonna take a pair of tin snips and cut it off.Alright, with our 7-pole bracket mounted, Im gonna go ahead and install a new 7-pole and 4-pole connectors. It comes with our ETBC7 kit. Im just gonna use our provided kit for the mounting. First Ill feed my wires through the bracket. more

Today on this 2011 Chevy Silverado, were gonna install the Tekonsha PRIMUS IQ Brake Controller part number 90160.Our first step is to identify the manufacturers wires that we need to make our connection as seen here under the dash that theyve taped up. Im gonna go ahead and cut that connection and pull them free.The manufacturer has five wires here. Were actually only going to use four of them. The orange one will not be used. The red wire with the black stripe, were gonna match it up with our black wire that goes to the pigtail that well connect with our brake controller. Ill go ahead and make that connection now.The red wire with the black stripe is gonna be our power. more

Alright today on this 2005 GMC Sierra, we are going to install part number 90885, the Prodigy P2 brake controller and part number 3015-P, the brake controller adapter. First step that we need to do is to remove this cover for access to the port that is behind here. So we will undo this nut and pop the cover off. We will take our cord and just plug it into place. Moving on, we will reinstall the cover and then put the nut back into place. Alright next we will go ahead and install our brake controller bracket and we are going to do that on a sheet metal at the bottom of the dash here. more

Alright today on this 2003 doge ram 3500 pick up, were going to install parts for brake controller part number 90885. Were also going to install the adaptor core part number 3020-p. First off well go ahead and show you where the port is at on the vehicle, the tilt port is right behind this wire harness, its the blue socket right here. Were going to take our adapt cord and draw out the back, just plug right into it.Now the wire harness around it makes it for a tight fit, so you may have to pop the port loose to get a better angle at it to install it. Make sure it snaps into place and we got a cord. Now we go and find a spot to mount our bracket for our brake controller. more

In this application, were going to put our mounting bracket here underneath the dash. Im going to secure it with two self-tapping screws. With our bracket installed, Ill go ahead and test feed our brake controller. Looks like it will fit nicely. more
