Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Ford F-150 - Curt

Today on our 2014 Ford F-150, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt Multi Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number is C13903. Here's what the hitch is going to look like installed on your F-150. This is going to be a hitch that's even with the outer edge of the bumper, so it's not going really going to stick out. Definitely going to see it across the rear of the vehicle here, and the side plates that come down where our crosstube bolts into. Those are going to remain pretty visible. Now, this is a Class III hitch, so it gives us the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. It's going to make it very, very versatile. It has very high tow weight ratings on it. more

Today on our 2017 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look at and also showing you how to install the Draw-tite Max-Frame custom fit Class 3 trailer hitch receiver. Its part number is 75938. This is what our hitch is going to look like installed on the vehicle. You see our main rounded cross tube, you see about half of that, as it comes across, meets in the middle here at our 2-inch by 2-inch receiver tube opening. It's got the rounded style reinforcement collar here around the end of it, and it's just about even with the outside edge of the bumper, so it's going to be easy to get to, but we're also not going to have to worry too much about bumping into it or something like that. You will notice the plug here on the top, it's only going to go in so far. Once you have your hitch installed, what I would recommend doing would just be to cut the bottom of that off until it sits flush. You can also completely remove it if you want. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ford F-150 - Curt

Today on a 2015 Ford F-150, we're going to review and install the Curt Class 4 Receiver Hitch, Part #C14016. All right, now this is what a hitch looks like once installed on our F-150 here. You'll notice right off the bat, this does sit lower quite a bit from the bumper; probably about 5" or so. However, this is designed to work with a factory hitch so your factory hitch would be right here. If your factory hitch is going to be not adequate for your needs, then you can stack this Curt heavier duty hitch right on the bottom of it Let's go ahead and look at its ratings. In this case, it's going to have a gross trailer weight of 10,000 pounds, which is a pulling weight, and it will have a tongue weight for 1,000 pounds, which is the weight that pushes down on the hitch. Now when you add a weight distribution assembly, you gain in weight and tongue weight so can get a 12,000 pound pulling capacity and also 1,200 pound tongue weight, when you add a weight distribution assembly. Let's go ahead and look at the fit and finish of our hitch. more
