We'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 3 1/2", from the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 21". Now let's go ahead an install our hitch. Let's go ahead and first begin by pointing out the attachment points that we'll be using to mount our hitch. There's a total of 6 attachment points, 3 on each side. For the two forward most locations, one on each side we'll be using the 3" long square hole spacer blocks with a 9/16 carriage bolts and a 9/16 flange nut. We'll go ahead and use the fish wire provided with the kit. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan - Curt- Video
Today, on this 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to install part number 13389 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the van, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside of the bumper will be about 4 inches and from top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 13 inches. Our first step to install our hitch, is remove three, 10 millimeter bolts just behind your rear spring shackle. These bolts will be located between the spring shackle and the bumper and the next bolt above the spring, we'll have to remove that one as well. Now, we're done with the driver side. We'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. With all of our hardware removed, we can go ahead and start installing the hitch. We'll take the tab and put it over the spring back by the axle. more

From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 4 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13.5 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We'll first need to remove one bolt from three different exhaust hangers to lower the exhaust down out of the way to give us access to the two bolts here on the passenger side. The size sockets that you'll need to remove all of the hardware are 13mm to remove the three bolts that hold the exhaust up in place at the hangers. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing the Draw-Tite one and a quarter inch receiver hitch, part number 36455. This is what our hitch will look like once installed. Next we're going to give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is six inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is thirteen and a quarter inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. Now I'll go ahead with installation. First we'll go ahead and lower the exhaust so we can easily access the frame rail on the passenger side. To lower the exhaust, we'll remove the two fasteners that secure the hangers to the body of the vehicle. First we'll remove the fastener that secures the hanger just forward of the rear muffler, behind the axle. Then we'll go ahead and remove the fastener securing the hanger just forward of the rear axle. Now with both fasteners out of the way it'll allow the exhaust to come down and we can gain access to the frame rail on the passenger side. We'll have a total of four attachment points. These attachment points will be weld nuts built into the frame by the manufacturer and we'll actually already have hardware in these weld nuts that we'll be reusing to secure the hitch. Next, we can go ahead and remove the fasteners in the frame rail. Starting at the end of the frame rail, we'll remove the first and second fasteners. more

All right, the first thing we need to do is go ahead and install the hardware inside the frame. There are two large round holes thatll have blocks installed on top of them. All right, to slide our block in place we use a long piece of wire, well route it through the frame, through the hole were going to use.Then, well slide the block on and then push into the frame. Well also put a kink in the wire to help pull the block through the frame and out the hole. more
