Which Trailer Wiring Harness is Recommended for 2012 Nissan Frontier
Question:
What is the difference between part #118263 and part #118525. Why in part 118525 does it contains relays what are they for. I have a 2012 frontier with the pin by the spare tire ready to plug n play i figure part 118263 will do well still im wondering what are the differences. Thanks in advance.

If your 4-pole is damaged and needs replacing or the plug on the driver's side frame rail is active but you don't have the 4-pole, you'd use the # 118263. To determine if the plug is active, you'd use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993. Have a helper activate each lighting function (right turn, left turn, running lamps and brakes) and see if the sockets on the plug are active. If they are, you'll just need the # 118263.
If the plug isn't active, you'd use the # C56225 which includes the plug provided with part # 118263 as well as the wiring harness and the relays that activate the tow package. If you simply get the # 118263 without having the relays and wiring harness in place, the trailer connector will not work.
