Class III Hitch for 2002 Ford Explorer 4dr 4WD with Factory Hitch
Question:
Do you make a class III hitch that replaces the factory class II hitch? I do not want to lose ground clearance with the under-slung hitch.

We do have trailer hitch options that will fit underneath the OEM hitch on your 2002 Ford Explorer. None of the available trailer hitches replace the factory hitch though. The most popular option is Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75132. This is a Class III trailer hitch rated for 500 pounds tongue weight and 5,000 pounds gross trailer weight. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
I also recommend the etrailer ball mount kit, # 989900, which comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag. If you need to add trailer wiring, use # 118344. I have linked the instructions for the wiring as well.
