Can Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with Sway Control be Used for Weight Distribution Only
Question:
Can I get a piece of chain with a loop at the end that would fit around the end of the trunnion bar at the curve and replace the one that connects to the cam? So I could have just weight distribution without sway control when I might be doing alot of tight turn maneuvering? Or on a smaller road say, on a windless day. Im referring to rp66083

If you are looking to only use the weight distribution portion of the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with Sway Control, # RP66083, you can just use the chain kit that came with the system. All you will need to do is remove the chain, U-bolt, nuts and washers from the sway control cams and reinstall them at the ends of the trunnion bars. I have attached a picture to illustrate their locations.
If you are looking for a replacement chain kit, you can use Reese Replacement Chain Kit for Uplift Bracket for Weight Distribution, # 55630. Please keep in mind that these would replace your current chains and would not be used in addition to those.
