Hardware Size Included with the Curt Hitch # C13426 for a 2002 Lexus RX300
Question:
Unfortunately, the threads on one of the hitch mount holes in the body of my 2003 Lexus RX300 are rusted. I would like to chaseinch the threads with a tap do you know the thread specification so I can be sure to buy the right tap?

Expert Reply:
The bolt size that comes with the Curt Hitch part # C13429 that you references is M10-1.25x35. That would be the size thread tap you would need.
Typically once a vehicle has seen a few winters the weld nuts on the vehicle frame get enough dirt and corrosion in them to require at least a thorough cleaning and sometimes retapping. I also attached an FAQ article on this for you to check out as well.
