Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Showing Loss of Power on 2009 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
When I tried to set my primus iq it started blinking. When I press button on side is goes dim say losing power. I install it on a 2009 chevy Silverado. Had my ground on truck checked out no problem.

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he has seen this issue in the past. More than likely the problem is with corrosion on the ring terminals in the power distribution/fuse box of your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado. You will want to clean the ring terminals as well as the square pad around the threaded stud. Once completed, reconnect the ring terminals and test your Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller, # TK90160, to see if this has corrected the problem.
