5th Wheel Installation Kit for RBW Lil Rocker and 1989 Chevy K2500 Pickup Truck
Question:
I just bought an 89 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4. I have an RBW Lil Rocker that I want to install. The truck came equipped with L brackets bolted on the frame and the bed drilled, but the previous owner has passed away and theres no way to find out exactly what kind of brackets they are....plus, I dont want to chance using themeven if they look good. Too many variables, and the chance of catastrophic failure under load is, of course, unacceptable. I need the complete install kit, as well as the 7 blade plug for the bed and any adapters. Id also like to install a second 7 blade plug off my tow package for standard trailer hauling. Thanks for your help!

I agree with you 100 percent. Better safe than sorry especially considering the size and type of load being carried.
For your 1989 Chevy K2500 you can use the Reese universal installation kit # RP30035 as long as the truck is not a Crew Cab model.
The RBW Lil Rocker should fit the Reese rails. To be sure you can compare the measurements of the mounting feet on the hitch with the picture I have provided of the rails just to be on the safe side.
For in-bed wiring it will depend on if the truck has a 7-Way trailer connector already. Assuming that it does and at the back of the 7-Way there is a round plug that plugs into the back of the connector, you can use harness # 41157. If it does not have a round connector that plugs into the back of the 7-Way you can use an extension, # 20027.
