Question:

Can I use z chains on a 2003 Subaru Outback? My concern is there doesnt seem to be a lot of clearance, especially the back set. Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Thule and he said that they have test fitted all their snow chains on 2003 Subaru Outbacks and found there were no clearance issues with any of their chains.

A good choice for your vehicle would be the Thule CB12 snow tire chains # TH01221080. These chains will fit most Subaru Outback tire sizes, they are fairly easy to install and easy on the pocketbook. They are made with a manganese steel construction that will last longer than other less expensive chains. I have included a link to a video review of these chains and links to FAQ articles on tire chains for you.

Always consult your vehicle owners manual for any additional specific information on the use of tire chains.
