The Replacement Lift Cylinder for UWS toolboxes, part # UWSLIFTCYLIND measures 7 inches in length when fully retracted, and 11 inches long when fully extended.

Hey Tim! Yes, the Rhino-Rack Ski and Fishing Rod Carrier #RR572 will fit the older Thule square crossbars. While this kit does come with T-Slot hardware, it also has the clamps which is what you'll use for the square crossbars.
