Sounds like you have the Curt Hitch part # C11339 installed on your 2002 Jaguar X-Type.

The two wiring options are basically two different manufacturer's versions of the same harness. Personally I like the Curt harnesses like part # C59496 better since they have more modern circuit boards and tend to resist shorting better.

The recommended ball mount with this hitch is the Curt ball mount part # C45521 which has a ball hole size of 3/4 of an inch and is designed for 1-1/4 inches like what you have.

If you need a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-82 and then for a 1-7/8 inch ball you would want part # A-80.
