Will Curt Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch Work On 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Crew Cab With 6 Ft Bed
Question:
I currently have this fifth wheel installed in my 2012 Ram 1500 SLT quad cab. I am soon to be getting a 2014 Ram 2500 crew cab with a 6foot 4inch box. Can this hitch be installed in the new truck? Or am I looking at a new one altogether?

The first thing you will want to do is measure to make sure you have the cab clearance for a fifth-wheel hitch in your 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Crew Cab. I have attached a helpful article that shows how you can take the measurements. We do not have a fifth-wheel hitch that will work with a Ram that has a Ram Box.
If you find you need a Sidewinder for your new setup, you can let me know what the pin box on your trailer make and model is and I will be happy to make a recommendation that will work for you.
If you do need a Sidewinder due to clearance, you will need a fixed fifth-wheel in the bed of your new truck.
The fifth-wheel hitch you need depends on whether you have the factory installed rail kit installed. If you do have the factory below bed rails, and will be using a Sidewinder, I recommend The Curt Fifth Wheel, part # C16515-16021. This fixed fifth-wheel hitch fits into the factory-installed pucks in the bed.
If you have the factory installed tow package in the truck and find you do not need a Sidewinder, you can use the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP30154, and the Curt hitch you have. This will install in the pucks in the bed of the truck and provide standard rails for your Curt hitch.
If you do not have the factory tow package on your new truck, I recommend the Curt Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # C16427-204. This will allow you to be able to use your existing Curt hitch. The rails from your 2012 Ram will not work on the 2014.
