Parts Needed to Install a 7-Way and Brake Controller on a 2006 Jeep Liberty
Question:
My Jeep Liberty does not have a tow package. Is it possible to use this with the Tow Ready 118524 wiring kit that I am planing to install?

It's possible you would be able to install the part # 20135 on your 2006 Jeep Liberty, you will need to check to see if your vehicle has the necessary connector and if it is active first.
You would find the connector at the rear of the vehicle near the drivers side frame rail above the spare tire. Using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 test the pins of the connector while applying the different taillight functions. If that all checks out the # 20135 would work for you.
If not you would instead want the # 118524 to start with, and then to convert the 4-way to a 7-way you would want the part # ETBC7. This comes with everything needed to convert to a 7-way and install a brake controller. I attached installation instructions and an install video for you to check out as well.
If you need a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
